Chapter 262 I Miss You
It's morning.
How long did she sleep?
Lin Feiyan must be very anxious, right?
Suddenly, a man's face appeared in sight, with sharp features and an elegant and outstanding temperament. It was Chen Ci.
He was shining a small medical flashlight into her eyes.
Ye Qingning's eyes moved.
Finally, she opened her mouth: "Chen Ci..."
Hearing the slightly hoarse voice, the doctor's lips curled into a smile: "Ms. Ye, what is 3 + 7?"
Ye Qingning smiled and said, "10. Why are you asking such a boring question again?"
Seemingly surprised that she was so lucid upon waking, the doctor raised an eyebrow: "Ms. Ye, do you know how long you've been asleep?"
Ye Qingning turned her head and saw only Chen Ci and a nurse; Lin Feiyan was not there.
A sudden thought struck me: how long had she been asleep?
But she clearly heard Lin Feiyan's voice.
"A few days?" she asked.
"Two months," the nurse replied hastily. "You've been asleep for two months, Miss Ye."
"Ah!" So Lin Feiyan must be worried after sleeping for so long.
Her gaze returned to Chen Ci's face: "Where's Ayan?"
"Ayan?" The doctor answered her question while efficiently instructing the nurses to prepare for the next examination. "Your family members haven't come. We'll contact them later if needed."
Ye Qingning felt increasingly uneasy as she listened; it seemed as if Chen Ci didn't recognize her.
"Chen Ci," Ye Qingning called him again, "I was asking about Jian Yan."
"Chen Ci?" The doctor paused for a moment, then seemed to understand. He pointed to himself: "Miss Ye, are you calling me?"
Ye Qingning curled her lips into a smile, though the gesture felt a little stiff at the moment: "Otherwise what?"
"Miss Ye, this is your attending physician, Dr. Chu Heng." The nurse smiled, "You probably don't know him, but his name isn't Chen Ci."
Ye Qingning narrowed her eyes again. The face of the person in front of her did indeed look very much like Chen Ci, but upon closer inspection, there were subtle differences.
His eyes and brows showed only caution and seriousness, not the carefree and unrestrained manner that Chen Ci was usually known for.
So, what's going on here?
Her gaze swept over the furnishings of the hospital, then moved to the window, where she could see the tall sign erected on the outpatient building in front of her room.
The words "Beijing Municipal People's Hospital" are clearly visible above.
Beijing People's Hospital?
Alarm bells rang in Ye Qingning's mind. She grabbed the nurse's hand and hurriedly asked, "Where is this place?"
"Beijing People's Hospital." The nurse smiled. "I'm the nurse in charge of this ward. You can just call me Xiao Miao."
"Jingshi...Jingshi..."
Ye Qingning muttered to herself, "How could it possibly be Beijing!"
How could that be!
She frantically reached for her pillow: "Where's my phone?"
Xiao Miao took a cell phone out of the drawer and handed it to her: "I've been charging your phone all along."
Seeing that black phone, which is common in Beijing, Ye Qingning's heart sank again. She picked it up and unlocked the camera with her fingerprint. When she saw the familiar yet unfamiliar face in the camera, her heart sank to the bottom.
She's back.
This is the real world.
It is Beijing.
It's the place where she grew up.
There are no Lin Feiyan here, no Chen Ci, no Jianyan...
Meanwhile, at the hospital in Qing City, Ye Qingning had already been taken out for examination by doctors arranged by Chen Ci.
Lin Feiyan sat in a wheelchair, her face slightly flushed from the slap Ye Qingning had given her. She was still weak after recovering from a serious illness, and the slap hadn't even left a mark.
But a look of confusion crossed his brow: "Chen Ci, what's going on? Why has Qingqing lost her memory?"
Judging from her state just now, she seemed to have completely forgotten about their life together during this period of time.
Her memory is still stuck before her marriage.
Chen Ci's heart was in turmoil, his mind sinking deeper and deeper. The doubts that had been lingering in his mind began to spread, gradually making him panic.
"Boss..."
Lin Feiyan sensed the urgency in his tone and raised an eyebrow slightly: "Go on."
"I'm afraid..." He opened his mouth but swallowed the words he wanted to say: "Wait a moment, I'll go check."
Chen Ci grabbed the medical record and strode out of the ward. If his guess was true...
He dared not think about whether he would ever see "Little Leaf" again if that were the case.
What should the eldest brother do?
...
An hour later, in Chen Ci's office.
Lin Feiyan held a glass of plain water in his hand. The scorching heat spread from his fingertips, but it made his whole body feel cool.
From the soles of the feet to the toes.
A chill seeped into every part of my body.
When Ye Qingning was wheeled back to the ward, her eyes were filled with disgust when she saw him; she felt nauseous just looking at him.
"Lin Feiyan, the person I love is Lin Younan! If I had known I would marry you, I would never have agreed! I could jump off a building today, and I could commit suicide tomorrow! There is absolutely no way I would marry you!"
Every word she uttered felt like a knife cutting into Lin Feiyan's heart.
This is definitely not something "Qingqing" would say.
Even when she was angry with him, she would only pout and say, "Lin Feiyan, let me tell you, I'm angry, and you can't coax me into it!"
Therefore, Ye Qingning's memory is stuck on the day she jumped off the building.
But clearly, this is not the final answer.
