Chapter 571 Extra - Kidnapped

Chapter 571 Extra - Kidnapped

After resting, the two went downstairs to continue shopping. After wandering around for a while, they finally found a shop that made custom jewelry. The hairpins and ornaments in the shop were novel and interesting, and very attractive.

Ye Qingning and Shu Tong each chose their custom-made designs, paid their deposits, and then happily left the shop.

With their mission accomplished, it was almost lunchtime. The two hadn't had enough of sightseeing, so they decided to find a restaurant to eat first.

"I'm tired of the food at Taibai Tower, and I want to try something new." Ye Qingning looked around and wondered if there were any unique shops nearby.

"Yes, it would be best if the store had a stylish decor and offered unique food." Shu Tong thought so too.

As the two were talking, someone handed them a flyer: "Gentlemen, our shop's specialty braised dishes have just opened, welcome to try them."

"Braised food?" Ye Qingning swallowed hard; this was something she particularly loved. "You have duck parts and braised dishes, right?"

"Yes, yes, we also have baked goods and iced drinks."

Ye Qingning and Shu Tong exchanged a glance: "Shall we go try it?"

"Alright, this way please." The waiter gestured and walked towards the alley. Ye Qingning and Shu Tong followed, still looking at the flyer and thinking about what to order later.

"I like to eat duck wings and bean curd knots."

"I like to eat duck legs and lotus root slices."

Xiao Die, carrying A Bao, followed behind, saying, "Your Majesty, this place is a bit remote. Let's go back."

Ye Qingning and Shu Tong looked up and realized that they had unknowingly walked into the depths of the alley. There were houses on both sides, but it was unusually quiet.

Ye Qingning called out to the waiter leading the way, "Where is your shop? Why haven't we arrived yet?"

The waiter pointed and said, "It's just ahead."

As he spoke, he kept walking forward, then took off running, turned a corner, and disappeared at the end of the alley.

Ye Qingning and Shu Tong exchanged a glance, both thinking, "What the hell?"

Chu Jia, being a man of experience, immediately drew his sword and stood in front of Ye Qingning and Shu Tong, saying, "Your Majesty, let's turn back. It's not safe here."

No sooner had he finished speaking than a man wearing a veiled hat jumped down from the wall and struck Chu Jia on the neck, knocking him unconscious.

Next up is Xiaodie.

By the time Ye Qingning and Shu Tong realized what had happened, they had already been knocked down. A Bao, who had fallen to the ground, landed sprawled out and meowed.

Ye Qingning called out to him, "Abao, let's go!"

Ah Bao glanced at her, then darted up the wall and disappeared in a flash.

Ye Qingning breathed a sigh of relief and stood in front of Shu Tong, looking at the man before her: "Who are you? What do you want?"

The man's face was completely obscured by a black veil, making it impossible to discern his features; only his deep voice could be heard.

You'll soon find out who I am.

As soon as he finished speaking, he whistled, and two masked men quickly ran out of the alley.

Before Ye Qingning and Shu Tong could even cry for help, the man waved his hand, releasing a cloud of smoke, and the two of them collapsed to the side.

Surprisingly, the man grabbed Ye Qingning's arm, as if afraid she would get hurt.

His gaze lingered on Ye Qingning's face for a long time until the masked man hoisted Shu Tong up and urged him, "Boss, we need to leave quickly, it's not safe here."

The man nodded, bent down, and picked up Ye Qingning.

The group quickly disappeared at the end of the alley.

However, they didn't notice that a white cat was leaping around on the rooftop, following them closely.

...

When Ye Qingning woke up, she found herself lying in bed, but her body and legs were tied with ropes, and she couldn't move.

Her gaze swept around the room, and she realized that it seemed to be a long-abandoned mansion, with a lingering smell of dust and decay in the air.

"Is anyone there?" she called out. "Who are you?"

Hearing the noise, someone quickly pushed the door open and came in; it was the same man wearing a veil.

Dressed entirely in black, with a black veiled hat, he resembled a ghost.

Ye Qingning tried to remain calm: "Where is the girl who was with me?"

"Next door." The man seemed to have no intention of making things difficult for her, standing two steps away from the window: "Don't worry, I have no intention of killing anyone for the time being."

The man's voice was deep and hoarse; it was unclear whether he could fake it or not.

In short, Ye Qingning had never heard of him before, so she had no way of knowing who he was.

She struggled again, trying to sit up and speak, but to no avail.

She found herself completely helpless, like a fish on a chopping board.

Giving up the struggle, Ye Qingning pondered for a moment and then asked another question: "Do you know who I am?"

The man was silent for a moment, then spoke, enunciating each word heavily, as if they were wrapped in ice blades: "The Crown Princess of the Imperial Court!"

It's over.

Ye Qingning felt that she had probably met the Crown Prince's nemesis.

Is this a plot to usurp the throne or something else?

Unable to figure out the reason for the kidnapping, she simply asked, "Why did you kidnap us?"

The man chuckled softly, "For what? To ask the Crown Princess a few questions."

Ye Qingning was increasingly confused: "Ask away."

The man pulled up a chair and sat down. His face, still obscured by gauze, seemed to sigh with relief: "Where should I begin?"

How would Ye Qingning know? But the fact that he had questions to ask meant that there was still a need to delay and negotiate.
