Chapter 589 Extra - Clothes
"Ah." The woman let out an affected cry, but her body lunged directly at Chen Chu.
Fortunately, Chen Chu was also trained and easily dodged it.
As expected, the man's broad chest did not appear; Cheng Cheng crashed directly into the wall, letting out a muffled groan and cursing under her breath.
But she quickly adjusted her demeanor, stood gracefully, raised her hand to smooth her hair, and looked over with alluring eyes: "Excuse me, sir, did you spill coffee on your clothes?"
It has to be said, the man is really handsome, especially up close, with his sharply defined features and dashing aura.
Chen Chu didn't even look at her, his brows furrowing slightly: "It's nothing."
He then went back to the bathroom to get some tissues to clean his suit jacket, but eventually took it off. Fortunately, his shirt wasn't soaked.
He picked up his suit jacket and left the restroom, quickening his pace as he walked out, but unexpectedly, the woman was still standing there around the corner.
"I'm so sorry, Mr. Chen Chu," the woman's voice was sickeningly sweet, "How about I treat you to a meal instead..."
"No need, it's alright," Chen Chu reassured him before quickly walking away.
Just as the two passed each other, the woman snatched the suit jacket from his hand: "Let me dry clean it for you, since I'm the one who got it dirty."
After saying that, she didn't give Chen Chu a chance to refuse and quickly left.
Chen Chu frowned slightly, but remembering that Jian Yan was still in the negotiation room, he didn't chase after her and simply left.
Pushing open the door to the meeting room, Jian Yan looked up at him and asked, "Hmm? Where's your coat?"
Chen Chu smiled and said, "I accidentally got it wet just now."
Jian Yan didn't think much of it: "Then please sit down. Fang Tong recommended an indoor venue to me, and I think it's pretty good."
"Indoors?" Chen Chu looked at Jian Yan with gentle eyes: "Didn't you want to be at the beach?"
“I think Fang Tong is right. At the seaside, we also have to consider the weather. When it’s windy, the situation can be very unfriendly.”
"Okay." Chen Chu had no objections at all: "As long as you like it."
Jianyan scolded him, "I like everything about you, so why did you come along..."
Fang Tong's gaze lingered on the two of them, but when it landed on Chen Chu's face, she still felt that inexplicable feeling.
Just then, Chen Chu turned to look at her, and the two had a very brief eye contact.
Fang Tong felt a sudden pang of sadness, and she quickly looked away, lowering her head to drink her coffee.
"I came here to keep you company," Chen Chu said. "I don't know who insisted on coming here."
Fang Tong composed herself and looked up at Jian Yan: "Don't worry, choosing our company was a wise decision, and I will definitely provide you with the best service."
In an hour and a half, the two parties initially agreed on several plans. Jian Yan immediately paid a deposit, and Fang Tong said he would provide a detailed plan.
Before leaving, Jian Yan went to the restroom, leaving only Fang Tong and Chen Chu in the meeting room.
Fang Tong was too afraid to face Chen Chu directly, so she kept scribbling on the paper with the proposal.
Until the man suddenly spoke up: "Miss Fang..."
Fang Tong was taken aback for a moment, then looked up at him: "What's wrong?"
Chen Chu glanced outside the meeting room and lowered his voice: "Just now, one of your female colleagues accidentally spilled coffee on me and then took my coat. I hope Ms. Fang can help me get that coat back. I don't need your colleague to dry clean it for me."
Fang Tong understood: "Okay, I'll go get it for you now."
"No need, you keep it for me first, I'll have my colleague come and get it later," Chen Chu said. "I don't want my girlfriend to be unhappy."
Fang Tong paused for a moment, then nodded: "Okay, I understand."
The two had just finished talking when Jianyan returned, and Chen Chu immediately got up and took her away.
Jian Yan was so engrossed in the details of the wedding plan that she kept adding to it on her phone and happily sharing it in her group chat with her girlfriends that she didn't even notice Chen Chu's suit jacket.
After watching Chen Chu's car leave, Fang Tong breathed a sigh of relief and planned to go to the front desk to check the surveillance footage.
Although she had a general idea of who had taken the coat, she still wanted to be on the safe side and provide a clear explanation.
The two young women at the front desk were gossiping in their WeChat group. When they saw Fang Tong come over, they smiled and struck up a conversation with her: "Sister Fang Tong, what's President Chen Chu like? Is he not only handsome, but also a really nice person? Very gentle?"
Fang Tong seemed a beat slow to react, pausing for a few seconds before nodding: "Yes, he's very gentle with his girlfriend."
Little A blinked: "Sister Fang Tong, Mr. Chen Chu is exactly your type, isn't he?"
Fang Tong glanced at her: "Did you forget to water the plants upstairs again today? Do you want to get yelled at again?"
Little A slapped her thigh: "That's right, thank you Sister Fang Tong for saving my life, I'll go right now!"
She picked up two watering cans from the corner and pulled Little B along: "Come with me. How long would it take me to water all the plants on three floors by myself?"
"One of us has to stay at the front desk!"
"You guys go ahead, I'll keep watch for you for a while," Fang Tong said.
"Okay, thank you, Sister Fang Tong."
The two little girls happily carried the watering can upstairs.
Fang Tong smiled as she watched their retreating figures. Youth is truly wonderful.
But she doesn't seem old at all.
Why do I have this... sense of vicissitude?
She sighed slightly, quickly logged into the monitoring website, entered her username and password, and then deduced the specific time she entered the information. Sure enough, she saw Chen Chu appear in the camera's view of the bathroom corridor.
A tall man with long legs, broad shoulders, and a narrow waist is considered to have a good physique in the traditional sense.
Fang Tong forced her gaze away from him and, sure enough, saw a woman sneaking around the corner with a cup of coffee.
With a slight frown, she took out her phone and started recording.
...
When the two receptionists came down, Fang Tong was already looking through the project proposal.
"Thanks, Sister Fang Tong. You can go ahead and get back to work."
"Okay." Fang Tong didn't stay long and left directly back to her office. When she passed Cheng Cheng, she took a second look but didn't see the suit jacket in a conspicuous place.
So at lunchtime, after everyone had left, Fang Tong went to find Cheng Cheng, who was waiting for his takeout, and said bluntly, "Cheng Cheng, my client said his suit jacket is with you. Can you give it to me? He said he doesn't need you to dry clean it."
"What are you saying?" Cheng Cheng disliked Fang Tong very much.
After all, she became a top planner right away with just one project, earning the highest commission, and quickly became friends with everyone.
Fang Tong didn't intend to waste words with her and directly took out his phone to play the surveillance video for her.
"Just give me the clothes back. It's a small matter, but it wouldn't be good if it got to the boss."
Cheng Cheng glared at her and crossed her arms: "I can give it to you, but you have to leave me Chen Chu's contact information."
“I don’t have the habit of keeping male clients’ contact information.” Fang Tong raised her hand, her tone cold: “Bring me the clothes.”
