Chapter 611 Extra - Stay at my place first
Although the man's clothes were also wet from the rain, they were still relatively dry. His broad and powerful chest gave Fang Tong a momentary feeling of security.
But she quickly realized what was happening.
Struggling to get away.
Chen Ci pressed her shoulder and whispered, "Don't push yourself. Fang Miao has been moved to a regular ward. He still needs your care."
Fang Tong was stunned for a moment, then looked up in surprise: "Really?"
Chen Ci nodded: "Of course, why would I lie to you?"
Fang Tong smiled, as if the world had brightened up again: "Thank you, Dr. Chen."
She was always so distant and polite to him. Chen Ci sighed slightly: "My car is at the entrance of the alley. You get in first, and I'll pack your things."
Fang Tong hesitated for a moment, then said, "I'll go with you."
Chen Ci raised his hand to feel her forehead: "You have a fever."
Fang Tong then realized his mouth was dry: "I..."
Chen Ci simply asked directly, "Are you going to walk by yourself or should I carry you?"
"Thank you, I can manage on my own."
Fang Tong picked up her bag and followed the man toward the alley entrance. Her feet felt like they were walking on cotton, and she was a little dizzy.
But she insisted on moving forward on her own.
One should never easily rely on anyone, because when that reliance disappears, your world will collapse.
If you never rely on anyone, you'll never experience this sense of loss.
Finally, after stumbling along the muddy path, they arrived at the alley entrance. Chen Ci opened the passenger door and helped her into the car. He then leaned over to turn on the heater and took a clean towel from the trunk, handing it to her.
"Sit down and warm up first, I'll go pack my things."
Fang Tong was extremely grateful: "Thank you, Dr. Chen."
Chen Ci nodded slightly, closed the car door, and turned to walk into the alley.
Looking out the window, Fang Tong could clearly see the man's broad back, with wide shoulders, a narrow waist, and a tall, elegant figure.
Just a glimpse of her back is enough to make one's heart flutter.
Feeling a little dizzy, Fang Tong dried her hair with a towel, then wrapped it around herself and leaned back in her chair.
In her hazy, half-awake state, she could hear Chen Ci carrying luggage back and forth into the car.
She wanted to remind him that he shouldn't keep things that had been ruined by water, but she couldn't open her mouth no matter what she did, as if her lips weighed a ton.
When Fang Tong felt a cool sensation on her forehead, she turned her head and saw that Chen Ci had already gotten into the driver's seat, with the back of his hand on her forehead.
His shirt was almost completely soaked, and there were still a few drops of rain falling from his face, which added to his ascetic air.
Fang Tong was surprised that she still had the mind to be infatuated at a time like this.
But strangely enough, she still couldn't help but feel a stirring of attraction towards Chen Ci.
She quickly looked away, and Chen Ci withdrew his hand and asked, "Is there anything else that's bothering you? Does your throat hurt?"
Fang Tong coughed twice: "It hurts a little."
"You might have tonsillitis." Chen Ci casually grabbed a few tissues to wipe his face and fastened his seatbelt. "You didn't suddenly catch a cold. You haven't been taking good care of yourself lately, have you?"
"I've been a bit busy with work lately," Fang Tong said, her voice becoming nasal.
Chen Ci seemed somewhat annoyed as he said, "It's my fault. I've been so focused on Fang Miao lately that I neglected you."
Fang Tong was taken aback. These words were quite suggestive. She pursed her lips and said, "It's my own problem."
Chen Ci seemed to realize that his previous remark was somewhat inappropriate, so he coughed lightly and asked, "Is there anywhere to go?"
Fang Tong shook her head: "I plan to go to the hospital to take care of Fang Miao."
"He's fine, but he probably won't be awake for long today, especially since there's a caregiver with him."
Chen Ci looked at her and said, "You need to rest well in your current condition. At least don't go out tonight."
Fang Tong thought for a moment and said, "Then let's find a hotel near the hospital. I'll stay there for a few days until I find a new place to move in."
After considering for a moment, Chen Ci said, "How about this, if you don't mind, I have a vacant house over there. You can go and stay there for now. It's near the hospital."
"No need, just take me to the hotel..."
"Your luggage needs to be washed and dried somewhere, but hotels don't have that kind of facility."
Chen Ci started the car: "If it really doesn't work out, you can pay my rent, just pay the market price."
Fang Tong paused for a moment, then said, "Then I'll have to trouble Dr. Chen."
Again, it was gratitude, and again, gratitude to Dr. Chen.
Chen Ci sighed inwardly: "No need to be so polite with me, we're at least friends."
Fang Tong gave a soft reply and didn't say anything more.
The car cut through the rain and drove out of the alley, gradually moving from the desolate suburbs into the bustling city center.
The bright lights and neon signs were dazzling, as if everything was moving in a better direction.
At least Fang Miao was out of danger, and Fang Tong felt that there was hope for everything.
...
Less than an hour later, the car entered a high-rise residential community. Judging from the security and greenery, it was clear that this was a medium-sized or higher-end community.
Because of the rain, Chen Ci drove the car directly into the underground parking garage and parked it in a parking space.
He got out of the car, took Fang Tong's suitcase from the trunk, and asked, "Are the clothes in the suitcase?"
Fang Tong nodded: "It should be."
"Okay, let's carry the suitcases upstairs first."
Chen Ci helped Shu Tong into the elevator. They arrived at the 10th floor. The two got out of the elevator and entered a house with two apartments per floor. Chen Ci's house was on the right.
The password to unlock is still the same four 7s.
I pushed open the door, turned on the light, and the room was brightly lit, filled with the warmth of home.
Chen Ci took a pair of men's slippers from the shoe cabinet and handed them to her: "I only have men's slippers here."
"It's alright, thank you."
Fang Tong changed her shoes and entered the room. The living room had a minimalist style sofa, TV, and green plants, creating a fresh and warm atmosphere.
"Please have a seat. I'll get you a glass of water."
"good."
Fang Tong sat down, and after a while Chen Ci returned with warm water, took Fang Tong's pulse, examined her tonsils, and then went to the bedroom. A little while later, he came out with cold medicine.
"Take some medicine first, something for your cold and something to reduce inflammation. I'll go downstairs now and help you bring the rest of your luggage up."
Without saying another word, he turned and left without even changing his clothes.
Fang Tong swallowed the medicine with warm water and began to look around the house.
The layout is two bedrooms and one living room, with a simple and warm decor style. It is clean and tidy, much like a doctor's home.
She silently calculated how much the monthly rent would be for such a house, while also thinking that she should find a cheaper place as soon as possible.
A moment later, the door to the room opened, and Chen Ci came up with a bag and placed it at the door: "There are some toiletries in here. You can take a hot shower first."
Seeing that he was about to leave again, Fang Tong called out to him, "Dr. Chen!"
"Hmm?" Chen Ci turned to look at her.
Fang Tong paused for a moment: "The things aren't urgent. Why don't you go take a hot shower first, so you don't catch a cold..."
