He pulled Fang Tong close to examine the slap mark on her face, a sudden pang of sadness gripping his heart. He whispered, "Don't be afraid, I'm here."
He held Fang Tong protectively in his arms, coldly looking at Ye Zhiyuan: "Mr. Ye, please stay away from my girlfriend in the future! I don't want her to suffer such an undeserved disaster."
Ye Zhiyuan recognized him; he was the one who had taken Fang Tong away from the sales office earlier.
"Mr. Chen, when did Fang Tong become your girlfriend?" he pressed.
These words instantly enraged Qin Youran: "Ye Zhiyuan!"
She screamed almost hysterically.
Ye Zhiyuan snapped out of his daze, lowered his eyes, and apologized to Fang Tong: "I'm sorry..."
Chen Ci sneered: "You're the one who should apologize."
Ye Zhiyuan looked at Qin Youran, and after a moment of silence, he said, "I apologize on her behalf. This whole thing started because of me; I didn't handle our relationship properly..."
