Chapter 687 Extra - The Simpler the Better
The plane arrived at its destination on time, and the two immediately transferred to the train station and took the high-speed train to their next destination.
Train, then car, finally arriving at the last stop, Chen Ci rented a car.
It was already past three in the afternoon. The autumn sun was setting earlier, and if they wanted to reach their destination before nightfall, they had to prepare to set off immediately.
Chen Ci didn't delay in loading the things into the trunk, took out bread, snacks and mineral water and handed them to Fang Tong, and then after a short rest, he set off on his journey again.
Fortunately, the mountain road wasn't too rugged, just a bit narrow, and for safety reasons, Chen Ci didn't drive too fast.
Looking up from the foot of the mountain, the winding mountain road looks like a ribbon tied to the mountainside, hidden among the lush vegetation, with a blue sky overhead. This scenery makes one feel open-minded.
Looking out at the enchanting scenery, Fang Tong couldn't help but sigh, "Actually, there are many places in this world that we haven't been to. Even if we spend our whole lives, we still can't visit all the places we yearn to go."
"Once Fang Miao recovers, don't you plan to reward yourself and him a little?" Chen Ci asked.
"What reward?"
"Tourism." Chen Ci drove steadily: "Go where you want to go, and show him the world too."
Fang Tong certainly wanted to: "I do, but my financial situation doesn't allow it... Do you think everyone in this world can live the way they want?"
Chen Ci paused for a moment: "I just feel that people should do things they want to do while they are alive, after all, life is short and we should enjoy it while we can."
Fang Tong smiled and said, "I'm different from you. I also need to consider Fang Miao's future studies and life."
“That’s true.” Chen Ci tapped his fingertips lightly on the steering wheel. “By the way, if you get married in the future, have you thought about what kind of wedding you want?”
Fang Tong looked slightly taken aback and turned to look at him: "Why do you ask that?"
"You're a wedding planner, right? You've planned so many weddings for others, have you ever thought about your own?" Chen Ci tried his best to appear nonchalant.
Fang Tong had actually thought about this question.
She has seen many weddings—lavish, understated, by the sea, indoor, in a church, all sorts of weddings…
As she attended more and more weddings, she remained interested in other people's weddings, but lost all anticipation for her own.
"The simpler the better," she said. "Get together with close family and friends, then go on a trip, and then return to normal life."
A smile played on her lips, as if she were also imagining those scenes, before she said with a soft laugh, "This is quite good."
Chen Ci, however, raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Is this okay?"
"yes."
"Okay." Chen Ci said, enunciating each word clearly, "I've got it."
The simple four words, coupled with his unusually solemn tone, made Fang Tong's heart skip a beat.
Looking to the side, the man's face was illuminated by the slanting sunlight, shining brightly and dazzlingly.
...
The car drove safely and smoothly all the way, and finally arrived at its destination while the sun was still hanging on the horizon.
This is a rather rustic village. At this time of year, smoke rises from every household, carrying the faint aroma of food. The car is parked in the open space in front of a two-story wooden building.
The sound of dogs barking came from the courtyard. Soon after, the wooden door was opened, and a stylishly dressed, upright man, probably around fifty years old, stood at the door and greeted Chen Ci.
"Ah Ci, you arrived quite quickly."
