Chen Qing only slept for an hour and a half before getting up, eating something casually, and taking Qingge out.
"Miss, if you want to eat chestnuts from South Street, I can just send someone to buy some!"
At the gate of the general's mansion, Qingge advised.
The young lady is usually very lazy, and only eating can make her move.
"You don't understand. Chestnuts are only delicious when they're freshly fried. By the time you buy them, they're cold and no longer tasty."
Sensing the presence in the dark, Shen Qing's eyes flashed and he got on the carriage.
"All right."
The carriage was swaying as it moved. Shen Qing looked at the suspicious spies outside through the shaking curtains while observing the surrounding streets and alleys.
Finally they arrived at South Street. The line for roasted chestnuts was very long. Chen Qing asked Qingge to queue up and she found a seat in the corner and sat down.
But not long after she sat down, Qin Wanming sat down opposite her.
"I heard the princess was ill. I wonder what the illness was? Is she better now?"
The annoyance in Shen Qing's eyes flashed away, and then returned to normal. "None of your business."
"Oh." Qin Wanming was not annoyed. He even apologized to her very politely. "Perhaps there was some misunderstanding between me and the princess before, and I offended her. I apologize to the princess here. I hope the princess will be magnanimous and let bygones be bygones."
Shen Qing looked at Qin Wanming. What medicine did he take wrong again?
"I'm not really magnanimous. I'm vindictive and petty, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth."
"Princess, why do you have to do this?"
Glancing at Qingge who was already in line, Shen Qing's eyes flashed and a plan came to his mind.
She smiled at Qin Wanming and said, "Mr. Qin, I didn't understand you before, so there were indeed some misunderstandings. From now on, let's shake hands and make peace and become friends."
Qin Wanming looked at Shen Qing's outstretched hand and her 180-degree change in attitude, feeling a little confused.
Just as he raised his hand to shake it, Shen Qing withdrew his hand, leaving his own hand frozen there.
"Okay, since you and I are already friends, I hope I'll have the opportunity to have a long chat with Mr. Qin in the future, hahahaha."
Shen Qing turned and walked towards the carriage without even looking back.
Qin Wanming looked at Shen Qing's back thoughtfully. What was she planning?
"Qiu Mo, go check and see if there is anything unusual in the General's Mansion during this period."
"yes."
He would never believe that Shen Qing really wanted to be friends with him.
Shen Qing sat in the carriage and wanted to laugh when he thought of Qin Wanming's appearance.
He was bored, so she found him something to do.
Qin Wanming is qualified to be a cannon fodder.
For several days in a row, Shen Qing went to various places in the capital to buy all kinds of food. She was quite comfortable riding in a carriage, but the secret guards who followed him were all exhausted.
I used to think that watching her during the day was fine, but now I think it’s better to watch her at night. At least she won’t run around everywhere.
Chen Qing had a group of secret guards roaming around the capital every day, while Jiang Zhuo was creating chaos in the court, planting spies around the emperor, and slowly inserting Feng Sheng's killers into the court.
The days passed by silently like flowing water. The capital seemed to be still bustling and bustling, with traffic thronging everywhere, and people's lives seemed to be as peaceful as before.
However, beneath this seemingly peaceful surface, undercurrents surge and dangers lurk everywhere...
Shen Qing sat on the attic, looking at the messy chessboard in front of him, feeling a little worried.
News came from Shen Jianshan that they had already negotiated with the Jinyang Kingdom and they had no intention of going to war with Dongli. The fact that they were dissatisfied with the Dongli Kingdom's dethronement of the Crown Prince was completely false.
But the emperor still ordered Shen Jianshan to send troops.
Swords and knives are merciless on the battlefield, and she was really afraid that something might happen to Shen Jianshan.
"My lady, your wedding dress has been delivered. The tailor is waiting for you to try it on to see if it fits you."
"good."
She didn't move, just looked at the chess game in front of her quietly.
Qingge didn't dare to urge him, she knew that something big might happen in the general's mansion. Chen Qing seemed to be very busy every day these days and hardly smiled.
Hua Qiufeng sent out countless letters. She saw Shen Qing go out in the middle of the night several times, and she also saw someone secretly monitoring the general's mansion more than once.
She didn't know what was going to happen, but it was definitely something big.
Until Hua Qiufeng came in hurriedly from outside and handed a letter to Shen Qing.
She opened it and read it, then breathed a sigh of relief.
They won the battle and captured several spies. They have now set out to return to the capital.
"Qiufeng, go tell those people to spread the news." Shen Qing ordered, "Let's go, Qingge, go try on the wedding dress."
"yes."
Prime Minister's Mansion.
"The Jinyang Kingdom has no intention of fighting, but the Emperor has yet to issue an order to start a war and plant spies among the soldiers." Jiang Zhuo burned the letter and looked at Jiang Ling across from him. "Dad, this is your good emperor."
"What do you mean by 'my good emperor'? Watch your words, little bastard." Jiang Ling snorted coldly, "Dad was also deceived by him before, and it's all your fault."
"Blame me?" Jiang Zhuo pointed at himself in disbelief.
"Well, if you weren't so close to the emperor, how could I possibly trust him so much?"
Jiang Zhuo opened his mouth, not knowing what to say.
It was as if I had lost all my strength and means.
"Besides, if it weren't for your father, me, protecting you from the wind and rain in the court, what you have done these days would not have been so easy. With a father like me, you can secretly be happy."
"Okay, okay, thank you very much, Prime Minister. How about I kowtow to you? How about that?"
"Okay, it's your turn!"
