Chapter 153: First Battle Victory

"Congratulations, Shen Qing, you have truly become a member of this world. From now on, all the characters in this book have souls. And you are the heroine of this book."

Everything began to rationalize, and the most concrete thing was: she felt pain.

"Chen Qing, I wish you a smooth life. Goodbye."

The seventh point's voice was somewhat reluctant to let her go, watching her walk along with such arrogance and pride. Fortunately, there were people who wiped away her fatigue and the frost on her body and held an umbrella for her.

But it is also an unreasonable existence in this world, so it has to leave.

"One last reminder, you haven't escaped this calamity yet, so be extra careful."

"Thanks, seven o'clock."

Something was pulled out of her mind, and her perception of the world became clearer.

But now that I have regained my sense of pain, I don’t know whether it is a good thing or a bad thing.

The second day.

Flags are flying and drums are thundering.

Chen Qing, clad in golden armor and holding the sword Jiang Zhuo had once given her, stood on the stage with a valiant demeanor and a resolute and majestic gaze.

Below the stage, 600,000 soldiers were lined up in neat rows, their armor shining coldly in the sun, swords and spears stood in rows, and there was a murderous atmosphere.

"Soldiers! The northern barbarians have invaded our borders and harassed our people. Today, you soldiers will follow me as a righteous army and march north to defeat these thieves!"

All the soldiers shouted in unison: "Fight! Fight! Fight!"

The sound was deafening and filled with infinite fighting spirit.

Shen Qing swung his sword and the horn sounded.

The vanguard marched off first, the thunder of horse hooves raising clouds of dust. Immediately afterwards, the infantry marched north in a mighty procession, their steps in perfect order.

In the northern border, the sky is filled with wind and sand.

The Dongli army led by Chen Qing confronted the northern enemy forces in the vast wasteland. Both sides were on high alert and the atmosphere was extremely tense.

Shen Qing was dressed in military uniform, riding on a warhorse, staring coldly at the northern enemy troops opposite him.

Jiang Zhuo and Yuan Lin stood on the left and right, with 600,000 high-spirited Dongli soldiers behind them.

The northern army was equally aggressive. Their cavalrymen were clad in heavy armor, and the scimitars in their hands flashed coldly in the sunlight.

"Mr. Chen, you have no moral integrity! You are negotiating on the surface to make us lower our vigilance, but you are secretly recruiting troops!" Li Yue, the general of the Northern Army, roared.

"Oh, I don't think that a piece of paper can restrain your ambitions." Shen Qing sneered.

“Shen Qing, you are shameless!”

Chen Qing chuckled upon hearing this, raised the long sword in his hand, and shouted loudly: "Soldiers, for our homeland, for our glory, we will fight today and we will not return until we win!"

"We won't return until we win!" The Dongli soldiers shouted in unison, their voices shaking the sky.

In the Northern formation, a general brandished a long sword, and the Northern soldiers shouted wildly, rushing towards the Dongli army like a tide, with the sound of horse hooves and shouts of killing intertwined.

In the Dongli formation, the archers took the lead, unleashing a dense hail of arrows at the charging Northern cavalry. Many Northern soldiers were struck and fell from their horses, but the following cavalry continued to charge fearlessly.

Jiang Zhuo and another deputy general led the cavalry to meet the enemy. The cavalry from both sides instantly clashed, swords flashing and blood and flesh flying everywhere. Yuan Lin led the infantry steadily forward, spears like a forest, resisting the charge of the northern cavalry. From within the formation, he closely monitored the situation and continuously issued orders.

"Strengthen defense on the left wing!"

"Outflank the right wing!"

On the battlefield, Li Yue brandished a broadsword, chopped down several Dongli soldiers in succession, and approached Shen Qing.

"Emperor Dongli, I'm here to take your life today!"

Shen Qing dodged sideways, deftly avoiding the thundering blow. Then, with a twist of her wrist, her long sword shot out like a snake emerging from a hole, piercing his throat. He parried the blow with the hilt of his sword.

The two of them passed each other in an instant, and Shen Qing pulled the reins and turned the horse's head.

Li Yue rushed forward again, but Shen Qing was not in a hurry. She saw the opponent's weakness and leaned over the horse's back at the moment when the big knife was swung. When the knife swung past, she straightened her body and swung the sword hard, cutting Li Yue's arm.

Li Yue felt pain and slowed down his movements, giving Shen Qing the opportunity to attack again. His sword moves continued uninterrupted, forcing him to retreat repeatedly, leaving him no chance to breathe.

Finally, Li Yue couldn't hold on any longer and revealed his flaws while dodging in panic.

Shen Qing snorted softly and thrust his sword straight into Li Yue's chest. Li Yue was unable to dodge and was pierced by the sword. He fell to the ground with his eyes wide open.

Shen Qing swung his sword and cut off Li Yue's head, holding it in his hand.

"The Northern General is dead!"

When the Dongli soldiers saw this, their morale was greatly boosted.

On the other side, the infantry phalanx led by Yuan Lin was like a solid wall, firmly blocking the charge of the Northern Cavalry. The Northern Cavalry had charged repeatedly without success, and with Li Yue dead, they began to fall into disarray.

Shen Qing saw the right moment and ordered the entire army to attack.

The Dongli army surged forward like a surging wave, sweeping towards the enemy in the north. The soldiers shouted and fought bravely, their cries shaking the heavens.

The young lieutenant general, Liang Qu, charged into the enemy lines, spear in hand, stabbing left and right as if he were in an empty space. The northern soldiers fled in panic, but he showed no mercy, leaving blood splattered wherever he went.

After a bloody battle, the Northern Army was finally defeated and fled. The Dongli soldiers cheered and celebrated their victory.

On the battlefield, smoke filled the air and corpses were scattered everywhere. Shen Qing rode his horse slowly across the battlefield, looking at the tired but excited soldiers, his heart filled with emotion.

"Clean up the battlefield and treat the wounded!" Shen Qing ordered.

The soldiers moved quickly to rescue the wounded and collect the spoils.

As the sun sets, its afterglow shines on this blood-stained land, as if telling the cruelty of war.

"Hang Li Yue's head on the city wall as a warning to others!"

On the night of the first victory, the camp was filled with jubilation. The bonfire burned brightly, illuminating the faces of the soldiers.

Everyone sat around a large, sizzling piece of beef or mutton, the aroma filling the air. Jars of wine were passed around the crowd, and laughter filled the air.

A soldier raised his wine bowl and shouted, "Today's battle has put those northern villains to shame! Our Dongli's prestige has been established!"

Another soldier tore off a piece of barbecue and laughed with his mouth full of oil: "I've never had such a good time in my life! I used to only fight defensive battles, which was very frustrating!"

"That's right!" the people nearby echoed, "Following His Majesty and the generals, we will definitely be able to completely conquer the North!"

Someone sang a heroic war song, his voice rough and loud: "The men of Dongli are full of high aspirations, fighting on the battlefield to defend their country..."

An old soldier said with emotion: "We Dongli soldiers have never been afraid of that damn Beidi! It's just that Murong Sheng has been suppressing us and not letting us fight! Now, this is just the beginning, and there will be more victories waiting for us in the future!"

"That's right! Cheers to Dongli and victory!" Everyone raised their wine glasses again and drank them all.

Shen Qing took a small sip of wine from a small bottle in his hand, and looking at the happy faces, he couldn't help but raise the corners of his mouth.
