Chapter 14 The Little Girl with Mouse Ears

The lotus-shaped boat soared through the air, and when it landed in the village chief's eyes, it almost made them cry with joy.

He thought that since the immortals had been gone for so long, perhaps they didn't want to help them and were just making an excuse to leave.

Unexpectedly, the immortals returned.

He was also told that the other immortals had found their trail and were waiting for them to come to him.

The village chief was overjoyed and arranged for the villagers to prepare a sumptuous dinner for them.

The two refused, saying that fasting does not require eating.

Sui Village was already remote, and the ordinary people who remained there were struggling to make ends meet because they were worried about water. How could they allow the villagers to entertain them under such circumstances?

"We'll just have to trouble the village chief to find us a place to stay."

Pei Xiang'an spoke politely, and the village chief readily agreed. After discussing with the villagers, he arranged for one person to stay at the village chief's house, and then found the cleanest and tidiest villager's house for them, making room for them to rest.

Pei Xiang'an went to another villager's house, while Song Tingwan went home with the village chief.

As soon as I arrived at my doorstep, I saw the village chief's wife and eldest daughter waiting to greet me.

"Greetings, Immortal Master."

The village chief's wife was taller and stronger than the average woman. Although her clothes were old, they were very clean. When she saw Song Tingwan, she was first stunned, and then her face showed the same restraint and helplessness as her eldest daughter beside her.

The village chief bowed and introduced them to her: "These are my wife and eldest daughter. You can call them if you need anything."

"I'm sorry to have bothered you for the past few days."

A beautiful fairy, as lovely as a celestial being, stood before them and thanked them. The village chief's wife rubbed her hands together, suppressing the smile on her lips, and quickly went to greet the person.

“Our home is not as good as the one that the other immortal went to, but the man in that home is a widow and there is no woman in the house. My old man was worried that it would be inconvenient for you to stay, so he took the liberty of arranging for you to come to our home. Please forgive him, immortal.”

Although immortals have cultivation and may not care about these things, they always have more to consider when viewed by ordinary people like them.

Song Tingwan smiled, her temper much gentler than any of the immortals they had ever met. "Thank you for considering my situation."

After entering the house, the village chief stood at a distance with a forced smile, while his wife led her to the tidied room.

Their courtyard wasn't large; once you entered the gate, you were in the yard, where vegetables were drying and many farm tools were piled up. The largest room was in front of you, which the village chief used to entertain guests.

There are two smaller houses on the left and one larger house on the right.

The village chief's wife, Aunt Wang, spoke to her in a loud and enthusiastic voice: "The room on the right is the one my husband and I share. Although it's big, the things inside aren't very nice. We were afraid of offending the immortals' eyes, so we cleaned out my eldest daughter's room for you."

As she spoke, she asked Song Tingwan to walk to the left. She glanced at the room next door without making a sound. There were cute pictures pasted on the wooden door and a small flower pinned to it, but the door was locked from the outside.

"This is it. Immortal, is there anything else you would like to add?"

It was a room that had been deliberately cleared out; it was a bit small, but the cabinets, tables, and chairs were all very new, and traces of life were still visible. Only the blankets and pillows had been replaced, and the bed frame seemed quite hard, with a thick cloth placed on it.

It was arranged very thoughtfully.

Song Tingwan felt a warmth in her heart and looked at her eldest daughter, who had been secretly watching her without saying a word.

"Was this originally your room?"

The girl was about thirteen or fourteen years old, with round, bright eyes. She seemed to have a carefree personality. When the immortal asked her a question, she nodded shyly.

"I've taken your room, where are you going to sleep?"

Daya quickly shook her head, "I didn't take it. I told my father that the immortals were coming, so I gave it up myself. My room is the best-looking one in the house. I'll move there and sleep with my mother. My father can just sleep on the floor in the main room."

Daya looked at her face and spoke haltingly, glancing away before finally expressing herself.

Song Tingwan chuckled and waved for her to come over.

Daya glanced at her mother beside her, and after receiving permission, turned to look at her father who had not yet stepped into the room.

Only after receiving permission did she nervously and expectantly approach the immortal.

Song Tingwan gently pulled her to sit down, her fingertips shimmering with a fluorescent green aura as she gently massaged the little girl's abdomen.

"Do you usually like to eat cold food? Don't do that in the future."

Daya felt a warm sensation in her stomach, and her usually icy hands suddenly warmed up.

She didn't dare to move, looking at the fairy sister with surprise and admiration in her eyes: "So comfortable!"

Song Tingwan chuckled softly and gently stroked her face with her hand.

The girl's rough skin and freckles disappeared instantly. Aunt Wang covered her mouth and stared wide-eyed. This was truly a blessing from the gods.

"Da Ya, why aren't you kneeling down to thank the immortal for his blessing!"

The village chief, who was standing outside the house, looked at her with a burning desire and reminded his eldest daughter to thank her.

This time it can't be wrong, these are the kindest and most benevolent immortals he has ever met.

Their village is saved!

When Da Ya realized what was happening, she knelt down abruptly, and Song Tingwan had no choice but to help her up.

"Why are you kneeling so heavily, little girl?"

The room is indeed beautiful. There are fresh flowers on the table and many cute clay dolls on the windowsill. It's clear that the little girl loves life. The fact that she decorated her room so nicely shows that she also loves beauty.

The face was done casually, but the abdomen was done because she felt the girl had a good heart and wouldn't feel sorry for herself even if she couldn't have children when she grew up.

However, she believes that whether or not one wants to have children is one thing, but one cannot be forced to not have children due to physical reasons.

You can choose not to accept something, but you cannot accept it passively.

As the village chief and his family expressed their deepest gratitude, darkness gradually fell. She closed the door, lay down in the sun-drenched blankets, and felt unusually sleepy.
