Not long after the sound of the war drums faded, a series of hurried footsteps arrived.
Song Tingwan and Zhuang Niang looked outside, and she slowly opened the door.
Many of the disciples from the same courtyard have returned.
strangeness.
Unable to hide her curiosity, a female cultivator in the courtyard who recognized her glanced at her a few more times and then looked away somewhat awkwardly. "Before setting off, the elders suddenly asked the disciples below the Golden Core stage to stay behind. Junior Sister Si Yao should be coming back too."
This person was so beautiful that she was almost blinded by her stunning beauty, her fair skin and delicate features were captivating, and she dared not look at her for long.
Song Tingwan nodded knowingly.
If the decision was sudden, it could be because either the Demon King was stronger than expected, or the issue of the invading resentment within the city had not yet been resolved.
I don't know why.
She thought for a moment, then smiled gently at the female cultivator, "I understand, thank you."
That laugh was so dazzling.
The female cultivator stared blankly at her, nodded hurriedly, clutched her chest, and ran away.
Seeing this, Song Tingwan couldn't help but cover her mouth.
So cute.
"What are you laughing at?"
As soon as he returned, he saw her covering her mouth with a smile. Song Siyao frowned slightly and looked curiously in the direction that senior sister had run off to.
Song Tingwan smiled and shook her head at her: "That kind senior sister told me the reason why you came back."
"Is something amiss outside the city, or inside the city...?"
He hesitated, but Song Siyao understood.
The swift-moving man stood before Song Tingwan and lowered his voice, saying, "The elders estimate that the demon king's strength has increased by a whole realm."
Part of the reason for the influx of resentful spirits into the city was the presence of resentful spirits, but the most obvious anomaly was the sudden decrease in the number of demonic beasts outside the city.
"I won't go in. My fellow disciples and I will patrol the area. You stay in the courtyard and don't wander around."
He was clearly a few years younger than her, yet he had a stern face and solemnly gave her his instructions.
When I first brought my younger sister home, the little girl was full of thorns; I never imagined she would be so cared for now.
Song Tingwan looked at her and couldn't help but smile, then said in a doting voice, "Okay, whatever you say."
Song Siyao had gotten used to their daily interactions, but once she felt that her gaze was burning with affection and her voice was gentle and indulgent, she couldn't bear it and wanted to escape.
Song Tingwan saw her sister's reaction and gently nudged her with a smile, saying, "Go ahead, but remember to take care of yourself."
Song Tingwan is already very gratified by their current relationship.
It can't be accomplished overnight.
She watched them leave with a good attitude, and soon after, night fell, and Xiaoyuer woke up.
The little one woke up dazed, but upon seeing his mother, he immediately rushed into her arms and cried.
"Waaaaah, Mother—"
"Something terrifying is coming to eat me! Waaaaaah!"
The woman quickly picked him up, saying, "Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, it's alright, baby."
The child, around four or five years old, cried until his face turned red and he could hardly breathe.
It's clear he was genuinely frightened.
After much coaxing, Xiaoyuer gradually stopped crying.
The little guy turned his head and met Song Tingwan's gentle gaze.
What a beautiful older sister.
Her eyes were still brimming with tears, and she stared blankly at people, making them feel a pang of sympathy.
Song Tingwan raised her eyebrows and leaned closer to wink at him.
The little one stared wide-eyed at his mother, clutching the dull little sword hanging on his chest, and shyly buried his head in her arms.
Aunt Zhuang smiled shyly at her and rubbed her son's head. "Call me Sister Song. The little sword you're holding was a gift from me, you know?"
Little Fish peeked out from inside Song Tingwan's arms, looking at her shyly.
Song Tingwan felt a pang of tenderness and reached out to rub his head. "Your old one is broken. How about I get you a new one?"
She pointed to the little sword clutched in the little guy's hand and gently coaxed him.
Little Fish blinked and held out his tiny hands, "Did my sister give this to you?"
A clear, childlike voice asked her curiously, and Song Tingwan smiled and nodded.
"But...but I like this."
The little fist clenched the sword again, extremely reluctant to part with it, and then looked at her mother with understanding, asking for her opinion.
Aunt Zhuang shook her head. The little guy didn't quite understand. Aunt Zhuang held the boy's hand and then said to Song Tingwan, "No need, Sister Song. Our family already owes you a lot. If Xiaoyuer likes this, let him wear it."
After thinking for a moment, Zhuang Niang followed her husband's example and addressed Song Tingwan as such.
However, they are unwilling to accept the new ritual implements.
She exchanged a glance with Zhuang Niang, and after a long while, Song Tingwan saw her determined gaze and helplessly gave up her idea.
"Little Fish likes swords, right? How about Sister Song finds a good material and forges a sword for our Little Fish that can change size?"
She had a friendship with Brother Shentu, a debt of gratitude to Bodhi Root, and was even implicated by her, almost causing Brother Shentu's death.
Both emotionally and rationally, she owes that family a great deal.
When the sword was mentioned, the little guy's eyes lit up, clearly showing his interest, but he still obediently looked at his mother.
Zhuang Niang declined again.
Song Tingwan smiled and told her not to be polite, her tone gentle yet firm, and that it was a decision.
The child was frightened and suffered, but after waking up for a short while, he fell asleep again.
After seeing that Xiaoyuer's condition had stabilized, Song Tingwan slowly returned to her sister's room.
Si Yao showed no sign of returning. She frowned as she looked at the increasingly solidified demonic aura in the night sky.
He set up a defensive barrier in the room before lying down fully clothed.
Today's events were truly unexpected.
Whether it was Bodhi Root or Brother Shentu who were ambushed.
Song Tingwan couldn't help but shake her head. Even if Zewu got the Rejuvenation Pill she had refined, so what?
