Chapter 24 After Marriage
Jialuo stopped in her tracks and turned her head naturally.
The boy stood up and placed the teapot he was holding on the table.
His eyes looked as if they had been pressed down hard, turning a crimson red.
This made the rest of his skin appear exceptionally pale and cold.
Her lips, too, looked as if they had been smeared with rouge, yet were even more moisturized than rouge.
He looked noticeably different from usual.
Jialuo was a little worried, afraid that if he stayed too long at her place and got sick, it would be a lot of trouble.
"Your Majesty, are you feeling unwell?"
Fu Lin rested his hands on the table, looking at her with heavy eyes, and when he spoke again, his voice was somewhat hoarse.
"...Yes, I do feel somewhat unwell."
After he finished speaking, he continued, "And you, Your Majesty, do you feel any discomfort in your body?"
His question made Gallo slightly uncomfortable.
But I don't know why.
But after thinking for a moment, she still answered, "Your Majesty, I feel a little thirsty."
"Hmm..."
The boy walked towards her.
Galo took a step back, but how could her steps stop a man?
At this moment, Jialuo finally realized something. She tried to turn around and open the door, but the boy blocked the door.
Because of her actions with Fu Lin, she was trapped between the boy's chest and his body.
The air was filled with a faint, pleasant fragrance of ambergris.
"Your Majesty, I am not feeling well."
The boy lowered his head. Because of the significant height difference between them, Jialuo could even feel the boy bending down slightly.
His breath was right next to her ear, almost touching her skin.
Galo's ears, and even his back, felt like they were being pricked with tiny needles.
She hurriedly turned around, pressing her back against the door and window, and the tingling sensation slowly dissipated.
But this forced her to look directly at the boy.
He exuded a clear sense of dominance, and the aggression in his eyes was unmistakable.
Jialuo pursed her lips and said, "Your Majesty, you are not feeling well and need to summon the imperial physician. Since there is no one by your side at the moment, I will personally go and fetch the imperial physician for you."
"No,"
The boy answered her question so simply.
Jialuo felt a lump in her throat from his tone.
"Then I must leave. Please make way, Your Majesty."
"No, I will not allow it."
The boy even stood up straight with a leisurely air, which brought the two of them even closer together.
Jialuo felt her body growing increasingly stiff, yet inexplicably, she began to long for the boy in front of her to be closer to her.
At that moment, she finally realized that something seemed to be wrong with her body.
The boy in front of her had obviously been drugged, just like her.
However, by the time they realized something was wrong, it was clearly too late.
The boy's breathing grew heavier, and the distance between the two grew ever closer.
There was only one candle in the room, casting a dim, half-lit shadow on the two figures.
The door frame behind him was a bit uncomfortable, constantly reminding Galo to stay alert.
So, just as his lips were about to touch hers, Jialuo was startled and abruptly turned her head.
Those burning lips pressed against her cheek, like a wildfire, instantly calming her restless heart as if a spring of water had been poured in.
"Why are you hiding?"
The boy's voice was hoarse, and his lips pressed against her cheek as he opened and closed them.
The breath he exhaled and the sensation of their skin touching made her extremely uncomfortable.
Yet, they yearned for it immensely.
"emperor."
Galona's hand, which had been resting on his chest, turned into resistance, pressing against him.
"how?"
The boy straightened up slightly as she pulled him back, his gaze pressing down on her, yet also seeming somewhat indulgent.
Under such gazes, Galo perceived the differences between the two men and women, both in terms of strength and dignity.
There was a time when she felt she could be the master of her own life, at least until today.
But when the two of them were in this situation, she felt the invisible power emanating from the heavens.
And before them stood the seemingly all-powerful figure who controlled their relationship: Fu Lin.
He was just another victim of the so-called divine wrath.
Galo was even able to deduce that the drug the boy had been given was more serious than hers.
She drugged her own son.
This made her imagine what the world was like for a young boy as he grew up.
Was it the pressure from his mother's strong presence, Dorgon's covetousness for the throne, or the affection between his mother, his closest confidante, and his greatest enemy, Dorgon?
Is this the reason why Fulin's personality was so violent yet ruthless?
Was Dong Eshi, that gentle and tender woman, the solace that Fulin found in this suffocating environment?
Jialu didn't know why she was thinking about these things at this moment, since the two of them were already in such an awkward situation, weren't they?
The drug she was under compelled her to reach out to the boy, making her want to find pleasure in him.
But her heart wouldn't allow her to act in this way because she was under the control of drugs. How was that any different from a wild beast?
If she succumbs to drugs now, she will have countless reasons to succumb to coercion in the future.
In the end, was she still herself?
Outside the window, the rain poured down like falling beads, pattering against the roof.
Their breaths mingled, yet their gazes held an indescribable tension.
No matter what their eyes held, there was no love between husband and wife.
Jialuo took a deep breath; she felt like she and Fulin were lambs to the slaughter.
It's pitiful and tragic.
"Your Majesty, we shouldn't have done this."
Her voice was gentle and calm, just like when the two first met.
Unexpectedly, the boy became unusually angry. His face darkened, and he grabbed Jialuo's slender waist tightly.
"No…"
"Why not? You are my Empress!"
Jialuo blushed instantly, and she subconsciously pulled hard on the boy's hand that was holding her.
"No, let me go!"
"I am not your Empress, Fulin!"
Jialuo angrily retorted, "Your Majesty, we did not drink the nuptial wine, have you forgotten?!"
Fu Lin's body stiffened abruptly, and his grip loosened. Jia Luo hurriedly struggled to free herself from his grasp.
However, the effects of the medicine had already reached their maximum, though not to the point that the two of them were like wild beasts.
But the very act of leaving him made her feel like a fish out of water, her breath becoming hot and unbearable.
She stumbled back to her seat and looked at the boy standing by the table.
The boy, only fourteen years old, is already taller than many men, but perhaps because of his growth, he has always been so thin.
At this moment, his brows were shrouded in lust aroused by the drugs, but a hint of something indescribable surfaced in his eyes.
Jialuo knew she had made the right bet, but she dared not relax for a moment.
She exhaled a deep, hot breath and slowly said, "Your Majesty, you don't consider me your wife, do you?"
The candle was already half burned, and no one had trimmed the wick, causing the flame to flicker.
Fu Lin's face appeared in varying shades of light and shadow due to the candlelight.
At this moment, Jialuo could hear the man's increasingly heavy breathing and his increasingly cold gaze.
"New Sari, you are truly a woman who has surprised me greatly."
As his hoarse voice fell silent, the man stepped forward.
Galo's alarm bells went off immediately, but the man picked her up forcefully and threw her onto the bed despite her protests.
Just as she was about to get up, but was stopped by the boy, who even leaned in on her, she finally shouted angrily, "Fulin, you coward!"
"Shhh."
The curtains fell in layers, instantly blurring the view.
"Empress, I will settle accounts with you later for all the disrespect you have shown today."
Their faces were so close that, even in the dim light, she could see the mockery in the boy's eyes.
"You're not as stupid as I thought."
Jialuo was stunned, but before she could react, the boy's hand suddenly grabbed her waist and squeezed hard.
"ah!!"
"Got it? That's what you call it."
The boy leaned down and whispered something suggestive in her ear.
The bed swayed gently, and the girl's voice was soft and delicate.
The security guard outside the door glanced at the eunuchs serving around him, then lowered his head and gave a slight twitch of his lips.
Only when the raindrops reflected the shattered moonlight did Jade and Agate arrive hastily, their expressions extremely grim.
