Chapter 40 After Marriage
Yonghe Palace was brightly lit, as bright as day.
The moment Fulin stepped into the palace, everyone knelt down to pay their respects.
Angrama's voice was soft, with a hint of sweetness.
"Your Majesty, I pay my respects."
"Um."
Fu Lin strode into the main room and sat directly in the head seat.
Angrama followed him inside and was taken aback when she saw him sitting there.
Instead, Fu Lin calmly said to her, "Cousin, please sit down."
Angrama nodded and said with a smile, "Your Majesty, I thank you."
She sat in the head seat, her posture elegant, even trying her best to show her profile to make herself look more beautiful.
Fu Lin slowly took a sip of tea and asked with a smile, "Cousin, you've just arrived on the grasslands. Are you getting used to life in the capital?"
Angrama nodded slightly and replied, "Your Majesty, before coming to the capital, I was afraid that I would not be able to adapt to the environment here. But now that I am here, in the Forbidden City, with my two younger sisters, my aunt, and Your Majesty, I feel that this place is also my home."
These words sounded nice, and Fu Lin's smile softened even more.
He seemed to think for a moment, and his expression became somewhat curious.
"Hmm, so what do you sisters do every day on the grassland?"
Upon hearing this, Anglama smiled and said, "The Horqin Grassland is vast and boundless, and we sisters and brothers love to play together."
“In the summer, we would sit in a circle with blankets, drinking mare’s milk wine, holding whips, and we would take turns singing or dancing, and then stop.”
"You six sisters?"
Angrama nodded, clearly thinking back to the time she had spent on the grasslands not long ago.
His gaze was distant, and his eyes held a sense of longing.
"Yes, there are six sisters and eight brothers."
At this point, Angrama couldn't help but want to say more.
“We have many siblings, and we always divide the work among ourselves.”
"The sisters like to bring snacks, and the brothers are never short of meat and alcohol."
"oh?"
Fu Lin leaned back comfortably, his expression filled with just the right amount of curiosity.
"Actually, don't underestimate her just because she's sixth. Her Majesty the Empress is now so powerful in the palace..."
She paused, her tone carrying a hint of "disdain" that seemed to come from an older sister towards her younger sister.
"Her Majesty the Empress is the best drinker. She is the representative of all of us sisters, and sometimes she even drinks with our brothers."
"That's amazing?"
Fu Lin remained calm, his tone casual, as if he didn't care at all.
Angelama touched her wrist, smiled, and said, "Galo is always the most lively one in the family."
"Of course, all of us sisters are very lively."
"Yes, you sisters are all good. I came here today to tell my cousin that Borjigit Gaowa has been betrothed to Prince Xiang."
"Since we are all sisters, we can stay by each other's side in the capital."
Angrama was immediately shocked; she stared at Fu Lin in disbelief.
But then his expression turned to surprise.
At this moment, Fulin stood up and said with a smile, "I came here personally to tell my cousin so that she can live in the Forbidden City with peace of mind."
Angrama raised her head and saw the Emperor walking towards the door. She got up blankly and followed the Emperor across the threshold of the main room.
"No need to see me off, cousin. I have some official business to attend to."
Angelama bowed and said in a gentle voice, "Yes, Your Majesty, I respectfully see you off."
"Um."
As Fu Lin walked out, he suddenly seemed to remember something and asked, "Is the wine you like to drink most on the grasslands mare's milk wine?"
Angrama paused for a moment, then smiled and shook his head, saying, "Sometimes I also like to drink some Golden Tent."
Fu Lin nodded slightly, then turned and left.
Angrama was left with a lot of doubts.
