Chapter 57 After Marriage

Chapter 57 After Marriage

Inside the Qianqing Palace, the lights were bright, and layers of bright yellow tents hung quietly. The palace servants who came and went all tiptoed, afraid of disturbing the man who was sleeping peacefully on the bed.

The Imperial Physician carefully removed the dead blood with her delicate hands, then took out the pure white gauze and pulled it away, revealing a bright red stain.

Jialuo had no choice but to kneel on the inside of the bed. When she entered, the man had held her hand tightly and refused to let go.

Jialuo didn't dare to pull away forcefully, so she just knelt on the soft bed.

Fu Lin woke up at this moment. The imperial physician originally wanted to use some anesthetic powder, but Fu Lin stopped him and insisted on cutting out flesh and scraping out blood.

No one dared to administer medicine to the emperor casually, and Jialuo was noticed by the security guards.

She pursed her lips and looked at the man whose face was covered in cold sweat, then said, "Your Majesty, the wound is so deep that the bone is visible. Should we apply some anesthetic powder?"

The man turned his head. Perhaps because of the intense pain, his face was somewhat pale, but his phoenix eyes looked exceptionally clear.

"No, "

Fulin looked at Jialuo, twitched the corners of his mouth, and said in a low voice, "I don't know what the Empress Dowager intends to do to you, but I will absolutely not allow you to have any more resentment, nor will I want her to bully you at this time."

After he finished speaking, the imperial physician and the security guard beside him immediately lowered their heads, wishing they could disappear into the shadows.

Jialuo was indeed stunned. He thought of many reasons why he refused to take the medicine, but he never expected it would be for her.

For the first time, she truly looked at the man before her, and his personality seemed less strange than before.

That's all there is to it.

"Your Majesty, there is no need to worry. I will take good care of myself."

"I know, but I'll never feel at ease if I don't keep an eye on you."

"Besides, it doesn't hurt that much."

Just as Jialuo was about to try to persuade him again, he grabbed her hand.

So while waiting for the imperial physician to remove the blood stasis piece by piece, Jialuo carefully wiped away his sweat.

When the imperial physician stopped, Jialuo felt everyone instantly breathe a sigh of relief.

That night, Jialuo slept in the Qianqing Palace.

She hadn't intended to rest on the dragon bed, but then she discovered that the side room of the Qianqing Palace was where several servants rested.

Jialuo had no intention of taking their resting spot, so she had no choice but to go to the dragon bed.

When she changed into her nightgown and lay down on the dragon bed, she discovered that the dragon bed was surprisingly wide.

Fu Lin had already fallen into a deep sleep. Jia Luo glanced at him and then prepared to go to sleep as well.

But the urgent knocking at the door startled Jialuo, who clutched her chest and opened her eyes.

"Don't be afraid."

The man who had clearly been asleep suddenly opened his eyes and nimbly sat up.

The security guards lit the candles in the palace, and then a servant stumbled in, saying in a panic, "The Empress Dowager is at the door wearing a formal robe, saying she wants to see Her Majesty the Empress."

Upon hearing this, Jialuo suddenly felt a void in her heart. She suddenly thought of her mother's ambiguous expression tonight, and the Empress Dowager's disgusted look.

Perhaps sensing Jialuo's unease, Fulin turned his head, took her hand reassuringly, and said with a smile, "Don't be afraid, I'm here, no one dares to do anything to you."

Fu Lin rose, raised an eyebrow, and said to the security guard, "Go and tell the Empress Dowager that since she, the Empress Dowager of the Great Qing, is dressed in a formal robe and comes to see the Empress of the Great Qing late at night, then the Empress and I naturally cannot behave improperly before the Empress Dowager."

Jialuo was shocked to hear this. Although she did not know why the Empress Dowager was treating her this way, would Fulin's attitude make things even worse?

Jialuo thought this and wanted to persuade him, but Fulin stopped her.

Do you know what happened?

Fu Lin asked in a low voice.

Before Jialu could answer, Fulin continued, "You probably don't know this, but you are a very kind person. You only like to live a wealthy and comfortable life, and you won't say anything else."

"It must be some other person stirring up trouble."

"But to provoke the Empress Dowager into making such a big fuss, the matter must be of utmost importance."

Jialuo moved her lips, thinking that it might be related to her mother.

Fulin, however, naturally spread his arms and had the palace maids dress him in the emperor's robes. Looking at Jialuo, he smiled and said, "But don't be afraid. The reason I sent you out of the palace was so that neither you nor I would be controlled by her now."

Upon hearing this, Jialuo was stunned for a moment. She had no idea that Fulin meant this by sending her out of the palace.

But clearly, at this moment, there were many things that did not allow her to think too much. When she put on the Empress's auspicious robes for the first time in a long time and was led out of the Qianqing Palace by Fulin, she never expected that she would see such an absurd scene.

Her mother, the usually gentle yet dignified Grand Consort, was now kneeling trembling on the ground.

Meanwhile, her fifth sister, her face swollen and red, was being painfully pressed down and forced to crawl on the ground on the other side.

The Empress Dowager of the Qing Dynasty looked at Mubumutai, who had always been kind and gentle to her, with an indescribable yet utterly disgusted gaze.

As the scarlet gate opened and Jialuo and the woman's eyes met, she heard the woman ask in an almost venomous voice, "Where did this demon come from, devouring Jialuo's soul and trying to take her place, attempting to corrupt the Qing Dynasty?!"

For a moment, Jialuo was completely bewildered; she didn't even understand what Mubumutai was saying.

The scene before me was intensely absurd: the bright red candlelight, the scarlet walls, and the woman's ornate and extravagant wedding dress.

All of this made Jialu feel a little dazed for a moment.

There's always this illusion that a stage has been set up by a crowd, where a play she doesn't quite understand is being performed, but it will ultimately cost her her life.

"Xin Sari, Xin Sari, I beg you, I beg you, for the sake of the fact that the Khorchin Borjigit clan knew your origins were unknown, and allowed you to be raised in my son's body, please save our Borjigit clan!"

The woman kneeling on the ground beside her had a sharp, trembling voice.

Every word she uttered struck Jialuo like a thunderbolt.

She stared in disbelief at the woman before her, her eyes filled with tears and terror, yet at that moment, she instantly understood that her mother had been indifferent and cold towards her since her birth.

Jialuo was stunned for a long time; she had never imagined such a day would come.

She suddenly thought of something, looked around, but Abu's figure remained unchanged.

Could it be that Abu knew about it too?

Just as all was quiet, Fulin, who was standing next to Jialuo, suddenly spoke up sternly: "The Grand Princess Consort of Khorchin is out of her mind and talking nonsense. She even dares to spread rumors about the Empress. Take her away and beat her to death!"

No sooner had he finished speaking than Mubumutai chuckled and said with a sigh, "My son, you've truly been blinded by this wild creature of unknown origin beside you!"

Her tone was extremely playful, yet her words were laced with sarcasm and disdain.
