Chapter 36 After Marriage

Chapter 36 After Marriage

Fulin only turned and left when Jialuo's voice grew softer and the candlelight dimmed.

Security personnel followed silently behind.

Not far from Xianfu Palace, footsteps could be heard at the entrance of an alley.

The security guard's expression tightened, and he stepped forward to protect the emperor behind him.

As he walked, he hissed in a low voice, "Who's moving around!"

Fu Lin straightened his back, his gaze fixed on the suddenly quiet alley, a playful expression on his face.

"Go, see who it is?"

The security guard spoke to the eunuch behind him.

One of the eunuchs, who was clearly burly, stepped forward and was about to enter the alley when he heard hurried, panicked footsteps.

The eunuch seemed to have noticed something, stopped in his tracks, and turned to look at the security guard.

The security guards immediately understood.

Just then, a pretty figure emerged from the darkness.

She wore a white fur cloak that covered her entire body.

However, it couldn't hide the girl's graceful figure.

She had delicate features and a face somewhat similar to Jialuo's. Although she wasn't as bright and beautiful as Jialuo, she had a gentler side.

The most dissimilar feature between the two is their eyebrows and eyes.

Jialuo was like a shining pearl, her brows radiating confidence and a touch of unbridled spirit.

The woman before him, Angelama, possessed a stubborn fragility in her eyes.

Fu Lin stood with his hands behind his back, watching the woman walk towards him with a leisurely gaze.

"Your Majesty, I, Angrama, greet you."

The woman performs a kneeling ceremony.

Even with such a simple action, you can feel the difference between the two sisters.

Angrama's kneeling was a testament to her sincere feelings.

As for Jialuo... she wasn't kneeling at all.

Her manner was utterly arrogant!

Fu Lin shook his hand, his expression gradually becoming somewhat bored.

"Get up."

His tone, however, was gentle.

The woman stood with her eyes lowered, then slowly rose to her feet.

It was only then that the security guard noticed that the girl had put on exquisite makeup.

hiss………

"Where is my cousin going so late?"

Angrama was a few months older than Fulin.

This address of "cousin" clearly surprised and delighted Angelama.

She raised her head slightly, her expression showing considerable worry.

"This afternoon, I had nothing to do, so I made an appointment with Angel to enjoy the scenery in the Imperial Garden."

"But perhaps it was because of the wind, Angel said she felt a little dizzy, so I immediately sent her back to the palace."

"After returning to the palace, Angel developed a fever. I immediately ordered someone to summon the imperial physician. I saw with my own eyes that Angel took the medicine before leaving, but I was still worried about her, so I came to check on her at this time."

Fu Lin nodded slightly, his tone extremely friendly.

"You sisters have a deep bond; you are truly a model for the harem."

"I just went to check on her, and the Empress was there too. Angel looked like she was about to fall asleep. The imperial physician said it was nothing serious and she would be fine after taking the medicine."

As soon as he finished speaking, Angelama, who had been looking worried, relaxed, as if he had breathed a huge sigh of relief.

"Then I am relieved. Otherwise, I would have been worried sick all night."

After Angela finished speaking, she seemed to remember something and said to Fulin, "Your Majesty, it is so late at night, yet you still come to care about Angel. I would also like to thank Your Majesty on behalf of Angel."

Fu Lin nodded slightly, his tone soothing: "You are all my cousins, and you are all the same in front of me. Cousin, please be careful not to catch a cold when you go out late at night in the cold winter."

"Thank you for your concern, Your Majesty."

Angrama replied with a smile.

"Alright, go see Angel yourself. It's so late at night, it's time to close the door. All three of you sisters are staying at Xianfu Palace."

After saying this, Fu Lin turned around and left.

Angela left behind to bow and respectfully see the Emperor off.

Angrama only stood up after all the servants behind the Emperor and Empress had left.

A smug smile crept onto her lips.

He then got up and walked towards Xianfu Palace.

As Jialuo walked out from the side room, before the servants could even announce that the Emperor had just visited, he saw Angrama standing at the door.

She was slightly surprised.

But then Angelama explained how she knew Angel was ill and why she had come at this time.

Jialu nodded, a look of understanding on her face.

"No wonder I was wondering why Angel suddenly caught a cold."

Jialuo carefully examined Angelama's face, her gaze lingering on her pale pink lips, and then said, "Fifth Sister, don't be careless either. Let the imperial physician examine you tonight."

Angrama shook his head and said, "How can it be so precious? The weather on our grasslands is unpredictable, sometimes it rains and sometimes it's sunny, and we haven't gotten sick because of it."

"It's just that Angel is too young and lives so far from home. She's in a bad mood right now, and she gets sick because of something slightly wrong."

She had a point, so Jialuo didn't insist.

Angela smiled and glanced at Jialuo, then sighed and said, "The Emperor just told me that Angel is alright, but I'm still worried about her, so I came to check on her tonight."

Jialuo raised her eyes, glanced at her, and casually hummed in agreement.

"His Majesty said it was late at night and time to close the door, so he suggested that I stay at Xianfu Palace as well."

Jialuo nodded and said, "What the Emperor says is true. Sister, be careful not to catch a cold if you come at this time."

As she spoke, she instructed Emerald to tell the maids beside Angel to tidy up the side hall as well.

Jialuo also plans to sleep at Xianfu Palace tonight.

She slept in another side hall.

The two sisters had a very ordinary relationship on the grasslands, and now that they were in the palace, they didn't have much to say to each other.

So after Angel slept soundly, the two of them went to rest separately.

Jialuo was already wearing her nightgown, so she went straight to sleep in the side hall and slept soundly through the night without any dreams.

The next day, Angel's condition improved considerably.

Jialu accompanied her to breakfast before returning to Changshou Palace.

Having just changed her clothes, Emerald walked in and said, "Your Majesty, the concubines say they want to come and pay their respects to you."

Jialu nodded slightly.

These concubines were quite clever.

She didn't refuse to come just because the emperor was angry with her yesterday.

Jialuo was dressed extremely elegantly and beautifully today.

She wore a kingfisher feather headdress adorned with five phoenixes, a bright yellow satin jacket embroidered with gardenias, and moon-white satin shoes with floral and stone flowerpot soles.

She was elegant and graceful, yet possessed a stunning beauty.

Jialuo nodded in satisfaction, accepted the eighteen-piece Buddha head with pink tourmaline and jade offered by Agate, and turned to walk towards the main room.

The concubines rose, their positions clearly defined.

Shi, Dong'e, and Niu Gulu sat on the right, while Anglama and Angel sat on the left.

Angel looked a little tired, but her overall spirits were good.

Everyone rose to pay their respects to the Empress.

"Rise and pay your respects to the Empress."

Jialuo sat on the couch, her expression serene.

"Get up."

"yes."

The concubines then took their seats again.

Jialuo gently shook the eighteen coins in her hand, looked at the radiant concubines, and said with a smile, "Are you all resting well in your respective palaces?"

Everyone agreed.

Jialu then inquired in detail about each person's diet.

The concubines all agreed.

Jialuo nodded and then said, "In the harem, sisters, you don't need to be restrained. Just be careful to abide by the palace rules and don't have any inappropriate thoughts or behaviors."

"yes."

"Well, there's no need for you to come to pay your respects to me every day. Coming once on the 15th or 30th of each month will suffice."

"yes."

All the concubines responded.

Jialuo glanced at Angel and then said, "If there's nothing else, then disperse. It's getting cold, so take care of yourselves. If anything goes wrong, immediately tell the servants to summon the imperial physician."

"Yes, Your Majesty the Empress."

"Um."

The five concubines rose and retreated one by one toward the door.

Just then, a eunuch from Cining Palace stepped into the room.

"By imperial decree of the Empress Dowager!"

Jialuo stood up, knelt down to receive the imperial decree, and all the concubines knelt behind her.

"The eldest daughter of Lady Dong'e is gentle and kind, and is therefore granted the title of Consort Xian. Empress Borjigit is filial by nature, and is hereby granted the right to recuperate at the royal villa on the 13th and 23rd of each month as a sign of her favor."

After the eunuch finished reading the imperial decree, he handed it to Jialuo.

Jialuo received the bright yellow imperial edict with both hands placed above her head.

A slight smile played on her lips, and she declared loudly, "Your Majesty, I obey!"

Recuperation in a secluded courtyard?!

Wouldn't that cause a delay of one or two days each time?

That means he spends only four or five days a month outside the palace!

Galo was pleasantly surprised!

If she had known that granting Consort Dong'e the right to leave the palace, why would she have asked about Emperor Fulin?!

Everyone stood up, and the concubines had different expressions.

Waiting for the eunuch who was delivering the imperial edict to leave.

Niohuru pursed her lips and turned to leave first.

Then came Lady Dong'e, who left with a hint of joy in her eyes.

Shi glanced at Jialuo, then left.

Angela looked solemn and led Angel to Garo's side.

Only Angel looked on with delight, gazing up at Jialuo and asking, "Sixth Sister, can I go out of the palace to play on the 13th and 23rd of each month?!"

Jialu smiled and said to Angel, "Angel is so smart!"

"Ah, I'm so envious!"

Angel exclaimed from the bottom of her heart.

Only Angolan sighed and said to the two of them, "The methods of this Dong E clan are truly ingenious."

"I wonder what she used..."

She paused, then continued, "They entered the palace so easily, with the Empress Dowager issuing a decree in person."

Jialuo glanced at the solemn-looking Angrama and said, "How can we possibly guess what the Empress Dowager is thinking? Besides, the relationship between Dong E and the Emperor is an open secret that almost everyone knows, but no one dares to say it."

"As long as we do our own thing, life won't be difficult."

"Galo said to Angrama."

The meaning is clear: Jialuo will not interfere with what Dong'e does.

Angrama's eyes flickered, a hint of disdain rising in his mind.

But her expression showed agreement, and she said, "Yes, we can't win the Emperor's favor by entering the palace."

"Um."

Jialu nodded in agreement.

This imperial decree, like a fluttering snowflake, reached the ears of everyone in the dynasty.

Prince Xiang became a laughing stock among the royal family.

Concubines may become the wives of their fathers or brothers.

These things only come about after someone dies.

Prince Xiang is alive and well, but his wife has been taken away by his elder brother.

When Jialu unexpectedly bumped into the so-called Prince Xiang in the Imperial Garden, he was momentarily stunned.

He was still a child.

A ten-year-old child.

But his expression was full of resentment.

Upon seeing his sister-in-law, Jialuo, he merely bowed from a distance and then turned and left.

Jialuo felt that Fulin had committed a terrible sin.

He stole someone else's ten-year-old child's wife.

It would make people laugh at us.

But she had no choice. After all, her marriage to the emperor might be seen as a laughing stock by others.

Jialuo never expected that she would meet Prince Xiang again on the 13th.

"Bomubogor greets his sister-in-law."

The boy was quite sturdy, quite different from the rather thin Fulin.

Even though her face was round and chubby, she looked very haggard.

Galo, on the other hand, really liked Bomubogor's appearance.

The child is sturdy and adorable.

However, she also understood why Lady Dong'e liked Fulin.

What young girl wouldn't like a handsome, tall, and intelligent young man with fair skin?

But Jialuo is no longer a little girl.

She looked at the little boy and smiled very gently.

Galo knew that the prince before her had died at the age of fifteen, without even an heir.

At first, she thought the boy was unwell, but now it seems that's not the case.

Perhaps the events of the past few days were too much of a blow to him.

Thinking of this, Jialuo suddenly thought of the peculiar couple, Dong Eshi and Fulin.

Suddenly, he felt a strange sense of camaraderie with the little boy in front of him, as if they were both "pitiful souls".

She spoke to the little boy who was about to leave, saying, "Since we've met, why don't you have a cup of tea before you go?"

The little boy was clearly surprised and turned to look at Jialuo.

But she didn't refuse and went inside.

"Is your sister-in-law out for a walk to clear her head?"

The little boy's voice hadn't changed yet, and he spoke rather maturely in his childish voice.

Jialu almost burst out laughing.

Looking into the boy's gloomy eyes, she said in a light tone, "Relax? Leaving the palace is such a happy thing, it's meant to be enjoyed."

Prince Xiang was surprised by her words and looked at her with obvious astonishment.

"happy?"

Jialuo's eyes crinkled into a smile as she countered, "Does Prince Xiang think I shouldn't be happy?"
