Chapter 108 Green Tea

Jiang Bai was afraid that someone would die, so he quickly reached out to stop him, saying, "Don't be so foolish. If someone's life is gone, it's really gone."

"I'd give my life for my sister," Xiao An said, tears welling in her eyes.

Jiang Bai felt no gratitude whatsoever; she only thought the other person was crazy. Her head was spinning, so she decided to appease him first: "If you want to come with me, then come. Just put down the knife, and you can do whatever you want."

Xiao An asked, "Then can I follow you for the rest of my life?"

“Sure, I can follow you into the next life too,” Jiang Bai quickly replied.

Xiao An smiled with satisfaction, and as he relaxed his guard, Xiao Liu, the bodyguard behind him made a move and kicked the knife out of Xiao An's hand.

With the crisis averted, Jiang Bai slowly exhaled and couldn't help but say, "Don't joke around with your life anymore."

"I'm not joking." Xiao An stiffened her neck, stopped trying to get the knife, and slowly shuffled over to Jiang Bai's side.

Seeing Jiang Bai's smug grin after his scheme succeeded, Zhao Yi's forehead veins bulged. Not wanting to argue in front of Xiao An, he secretly pulled Jiang Bai aside to whisper, "Can't you tell he has ulterior motives?"

Jiang Bai smiled helplessly: "So what if I can see it? He's threatening suicide now, I can't just stand by and watch him die."

Zhao Yi glanced disdainfully at Xiao An, who was four or five meters away, and said, "He wouldn't dare to really die."

Jiang Bai followed Zhao Yi's gaze and saw Xiao An staring at her enthusiastically. When Xiao An looked over, Xiao An smiled broadly, revealing a row of neat white teeth that shone brightly in the sunlight.

Jiang Bai sighed, then turned back to him: "Can you guarantee he won't get into trouble? Who can take that responsibility?"

Zhao Yi said, "I can take responsibility. Let him go."

Jiang Bai took a deep breath: "Stop throwing a childish tantrum, you know perfectly well..."

“All I know is that I don’t agree to him going back to our home with you,” Zhao Yi said with a dark face, glancing at Xiao An’s bright smile. “It’s either him or me, it’s either him or me.”

"Why are you arguing with him? Be rational. In my eyes, he's just a little kid," Jiang Bai said helplessly.

"A little kid offering himself up to you?" Zhao Yi raised his voice, incredulous. "Jiang Bai, your husband isn't dead yet, he's still standing right in front of you, and you're already bringing other men home?"

Jiang Bai's anger flared up at his words. She was already in a bad mood because Xiao An was holding her hostage, and now Zhao Yi's unreasonable behavior made her fury soar to the top of her head.

She crossed her arms, making a defiant gesture, and frowned as she said, "Then tell me, what can I do?"

"Just let him go!" Zhao Yi didn't understand why Jiang Bai would be so lenient towards a complete stranger.

Their loud conversation attracted Xiao An's attention.

He slowly approached and, together with Jiang Bai, faced Zhao Yi, saying, "I think this is something Sister Jiang has already decided and promised me. There's no room for you to question it, is there?"

"Even if you are her husband, you are only someone she has lived with for a period of time. Whether you can continue to live together in the future is still uncertain!"

"Sister Jiang is so outstanding, yet you were so rude to her friends. Don't you think you're making her lose face?"

"If it were me, I would definitely get along well with Sister Jiang's friends. At least I wouldn't be so jealous that I wouldn't even dare to invite my friends over."

Are you afraid of losing to me?

"You are not good enough for her."

Those last few words were practically a declaration of war, and Zhao Yi almost immediately exploded, pointing at Xiao An and saying, "Say that again if you dare?"

Xiao An leaned silently against Jiang Bai's back, her voice very soft, as if she were sobbing: "Sister, is your husband angry? I didn't mean it. I was just saying what was on my mind. You're so outstanding, he really isn't good enough for you."

Jiang Bai could practically smell the strong aroma of green tea, and couldn't help but sigh: I never thought there were green tea men in this era. If these words were gender-swapped, what would happen? Luckily, she wasn't a scumbag woman who wanted to build a harem, otherwise wouldn't she have made the mistake that all men in the world would make?

She pulled Xiao An out, making the two face to face, and said helplessly to Xiao An, "Zhao Yi is my husband, you should respect him. He is a very outstanding person and is not unworthy of me."

Zhao Yi was not happy to hear this, and said, "I don't agree to him coming to our house."

Jiang Bai didn't know how to appease this person who was throwing a tantrum, so he put his hands together, looked pitiful and begged for mercy with a worried expression.

Seeing Jiang Bai's expression, Zhao Yi became even angrier and said, "Being coquettish won't work. I'm not buying it. The house was bought with my money. I said no, and that's final."

When the topic of money came up, Jiang Bai exploded. It was true that Zhao Yi had paid for the house in full.

Unexpectedly, even after transmigrating to ancient times, he still had the housing problem. The other party had assets and could kick him out at any time. In an instant, Jiang Bai wasn't worried about Xiao An, but rather he was putting himself in her shoes.

She said, "The house is yours, so I have no right to speak?"

Zhao Yi realized he had said the wrong thing. Seeing Jiang Bai's calm expression, he knew something was wrong and hesitated before saying, "The house is yours too. It belongs to both of us."

“No need,” Jiang Bai said. “You can go live in your own house. I have other places to stay.”

As she spoke, she turned around, and Zhao Yi quickly grabbed her: "Where are you going?"

"It's none of your business." Jiang Bai shook off his hand. "If your house doesn't welcome me, there are other places that will."

Zhao Yi's eyes reddened as he watched Xiao An closely following Jiang Bai, as if afraid of losing him. He was even more worried. He didn't want to let Jiang Bai leave. If Xiao An came along too, they would be spending some time alone together. It would be better for him to stay at home and have peace of mind.

After all, there are servants at home.

He quickly grabbed Jiang Bai's hand and gritted his teeth, saying, "Don't go, I'll go."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Bai, forgetting his anger, turned his head in shock and asked, "Where are you going?"

"Never mind that," Zhao Yi waved his hand and left.

Jiang Bai, unaware of Zhao Yi's intentions, led Xiao An to their residence in the county town, his mind heavy with worry.

Xiao An said, "Sister, your husband has such a bad temper. Why did he just leave like that?"

Jiang Bai's thoughts were in disarray, and he didn't have the energy to think about the implied meaning in Xiao An's words. He simply said, "Stop talking."

"Don't feel sorry for him. If you do, he'll only take advantage of you." Xiao An pouted. "I was also thinking, since he won't answer where he went, could it be that he has another home where he can stay?"

"I told you to shut up." Jiang Bai's face turned cold.

Her tone was calm, but it contained a threat: "I'm letting you follow me to give Li Xinxiang face. Don't push your luck. Zhao Yi is not someone you can judge."
