Chapter 3

Reporting to the police involved too many things and would take too long, so Lu Qin passed on the matter without even thinking about it.

Holding his breath, his mind was full of money, his thoughts were as irritable as a hemp rope, and now only money could make them loosen up.

He walked out of the liar's yard like a ghost, his figure almost blending into the night.

He put his hands in his pockets and looked inside casually, chewing a sweet root of Sedge Grass he had picked up on the road.

The courtyard where he lived alone was in the shape of a horizontal "目" character. There were three rooms in total, two of which had lights on. Figures of people were swaying, and shouts could be heard faintly.

One, two, three, four...

He was stunned. There was a gang of hooligans inside.

In fact, if you think about it carefully, being able to own a yard like this in the city, even if you have no background, you are still a group of annoying fleas, and you probably do a lot of this kind of thing.

He was mentally prepared before coming.

The figure continued to sway, and the cold wind of the night blew away the impulse in his heart. Fortunately, he did not rush in with a bad temper, otherwise he would have been beaten by someone unknown.

Take this opportunity to sort out your memories and calm down. The process of the original body being deceived is not complicated.

The original person was proud and arrogant. Because he failed to pass the exam, he felt depressed and frustrated, so he wandered around the city every day, trying to find a job in the city, and that's when he ran into the two scammers.

The two set a trap. One pretended to be the son of a well-connected factory worker, while the other pretended to be a country bumpkin who had found a way to get into the factory. To convince the original subject, they even took the original subject to the factory. Naturally, the original subject fell for it.

He'd say both of them had flaws. One, purportedly the factory director's son, was as skinny as a monkey, his complexion sallow, and the look of malnutrition clear as a chaff. Fine, you could say it was a family trait, but since you've changed your clothes, at least change those tattered shoes. The soles were still covered in mud. That's like covering up the top and neglecting the bottom. As for the other, a repair shop worker, constantly screwing screws, yet his hands were even whiter and more tender than his non-working self's.

It is because the original body is possessed that one is deceived.

Lu Qin moved his stiff legs. He was hungry, so he looked up at the dark sky and his stomach growled.

What sin have you committed?

Under what circumstances can one get back one hundred and thirty-seven dollars and fifty-nine cents before tomorrow noon, or create one hundred and thirty-seven dollars and fifty-nine cents overnight.

If you are sure you can't get it back, you can't defeat it even if you fight.

Everything seems to be stuck in a vicious circle.

So, what to do?

In the silence of the night.

With a bang, a pot from someone's house next door fell to the ground with a clanging sound, and then rolled around a few times on the ground.

It was quite close, Lu Qin felt his ears vibrate, and he shook his head.

He accidentally looked at the courtyard next door. The male owner of the house probably didn't go home yet. A young female owner was already cleaning up the dishes. There were children playing marbles nearby. Under the tree, a woman with neat short hair was drying clothes.

Lu Qin's eyes fell on the short-haired woman, and he recalled the bad experience in the afternoon.

There were a few gusts of cold wind at night, and the clothes on the wooden clothespins under the tree swayed in the wind. The corners of the longer clothes were rolled up, and the shorter ones were stuck to the clothes in a few seconds.

Lu Qin's gaze remained there for a long time.

Then he silently apologized in his heart.

The sun rises late in the morning in winter. There was frost last night, and the ground was covered with white. Even the leaves of the trees were wilted and dry.

At this moment, a voice that sounded like someone was strangling their throats drowned out the women's cries for the children to get up. "Catch the thief! Someone's stealing!"

A period of chaos and disorder followed.

Someone further away asked, "Who is it? Who is yelling so early in the morning?"

A woman came out holding a pair of fire tongs, her face flushed from the fire under the stove. "Guihua, is that your baby crying?"

"What did you say? My baby is still lying in bed. I thought it was your baby who was shouting!"

"Who is it? I thought I heard someone shouting 'Stop thief' just now." The woman's expression suddenly became strange.

As if answering this person's words, a sharp female voice cut through the air, "Ah, who is the wicked person who stole my clothes?!"

Her anger could be sensed from a distance.

This sentence was like the prelude to a huge explosion.

"Who is this wicked guy? My clothes are missing too!"

Careful people discovered that the stolen clothes were all the master's clothes, and the others were still hanging around.

Some people even left notes at home with crooked handwriting saying, "I'll borrow your pants for two days."

A mean tone.

When someone who could read read it out loud, the man's face turned pale.

When men get angry, their power is boundless. Remembering that someone just shouted "Catch the thief", those who had not eaten breakfast or had only eaten halfway rushed out the door angrily with their weapons.

Lu Qin, who had hidden his achievements and fame, lay motionless with a beard that had grown wildly overnight and two big dark circles under his eyes.

When four or five police officers came to the yard after receiving a note pointing at "hooligans", they saw a dozen or so grown men huddled together as if they were about to cause trouble or rebel, with ferocious looks on their faces.

A young police officer who had just started work today trembled with fear.

When they saw the police, the group of men retreated for a moment, but when they thought of the words on the note, they became angry and ignored their fear and went forward to complain.

When the police heard that someone had reported hooligans stealing clothes early in the morning, and after learning which house the theft came from, the man angrily took the police to the yard on the corner without their guidance.

They had long felt that something was amiss in that courtyard. It was always noisy, with the sounds of card playing and shouting at night. They were all just lazy, scoundrels. They would even believe someone who said they stole money, let alone clothes!

What happened next was just as Lu Qin had envisioned, and even showed signs of going beyond that. After the leading police officer entered the house with a group of brothers, they found more than a dozen pairs of men's underwear hanging in a corner under a tree in the yard.

Before the police could sort out their thoughts, a group of people chattered and automatically filled in the plot, asking them to catch the gangsters.

So six or seven men who had just woken up, were confused and started cursing as the neighbors shouted "This is mine" one after another.

The older police officer thought this development was a bit strange, but the evidence was there...

I don't know who started it first, but there were bursts of screams of pain, accompanied by the words "What a wicked thing!"

Touching his newly grown stubble, Lu Qin suddenly sneezed, pretending not to hear the words "evil thing". He quickly rubbed his nose and stood quietly in the distance watching.

After the police left, a group of women and men mixed together, talking a lot and cursing one after another. Lu Qin waited until they dispersed before sneaking out.

He looked around and then turned over and went into the yard swiftly.

Because they were hurriedly taken away for education, all three rooms were still open.

Lu Qin couldn't accurately guess how long they would receive education, so he gave himself a maximum of an hour.

It's probably after 8:30 in the morning now.

That means he must return to the hospital before twelve o'clock.

Lu Qin entered the house on the right first, picking up the nearest one and finding the things and money that the original body had given them as a gift, including hens and eggs, which of course were not complete.

Half an hour later, a young man with dark circles under his eyes walked past on the street.

The weather was particularly good today, so Lu Chunnong bought two steamed buns, two eggs and a bowl of porridge.

She helped her mother-in-law sit up and gave her half of the breakfast. She woke up the child and fed him.

Sun Laimei held a bun in one hand and looked at the other in her daughter-in-law's hand. Thinking about the situation at home, she didn't eat for a long time and asked, "Chun Nong, what are you eating?"

Lu Chunnong picked up the child and pursed her lips and said, "I'm not very hungry yet. Mom, you eat first. I'll go buy more after you feed Dongdong."

Sun Laimei moved her butt and leaned back, observing her expression, not knowing whether to believe what she said.

She suddenly asked, "The doctor said I can be discharged at noon?"

Lu Chunnong broke the egg into small pieces and fed them to his son. He paused slightly and hummed softly.

She followed up the question naturally, staring at her daughter-in-law's expression, "So, has the money been paid?"

Lu Chunnong wiped the corner of her son's mouth and looked up. "Don't worry, Mom. We'll give it to you when we leave."

She didn't say how much money it was. When she looked up, she saw two thick dark circles under her beautiful eyes. She looked haggard, as if she had not slept all night.

Sun Laimei opened her mouth but still didn't ask about the money. However, she had no appetite for the moment, so she put the food aside and just drank two mouthfuls of porridge to fill her stomach.

Thinking that the New Year was approaching and the family still hadn't paid off all the debts, she sighed inwardly.

Only when she saw her grandson's expression of enjoyment while eating did a slight smile appear on her face.

Lu Chunnong fed Dongdong breakfast and finished the rest while suppressing the anxious and nauseous feeling.

"Chun Nong, you should eat Mom's portion too. I don't have much of an appetite."

Lu Chunnong was preoccupied. He forced a smile and refused. "I'll go to the doctor later to ask if there's anything I should pay attention to."

Dongdong heard his name and stretched out his hand to ask for a hug, his eyes red, "Mom, Dongdong wants to be with you."

Lu Chunnong thought for two seconds, then picked her up and wrapped her in the small blanket she brought from home. The mother and son then went out.

As soon as he came out, Lu Chunnong stared at the empty corridor on his left. There was no one in sight, and he felt heavy in his heart.

She felt a warm touch on the side of her face, and the little guy rubbed his little face against hers.

Lu Chunnong lowered his gaze and gently kissed the little guy on the face.

"Mom?"

"Um."

When she reached the end of the corridor and stopped, she raised her hand and knocked lightly.

There were two elderly doctors sitting inside, one male and one female; and a young female nurse who set her eyes on her as soon as she came in.

Lu Chunnong hadn't failed to notice that she was looking at her. Her gaze fell on the elderly male doctor on her left. "Hello, I'd like to ask about payment."

He looked up at the voice and saw that he knew the person. After confirming his information, he opened the bill and said, "A total of forty-seven dollars."

He added, "By the way, go to the front and pay the fee, then come back to me to get some prescriptions."

"Okay," she hesitated for a moment, pinched her palms, and stood there without moving.

The doctor looked up in confusion, only to hear the man in front of him ask, "Can I pay the bill when I'm discharged at noon?"

"Huh?" He was stunned for a moment and looked up, but he quickly reacted, "Okay, but please do it as early as possible."

Lu Chunnong thanked him and left.

As soon as the door closed, the nurse sighed and said, "I don't know if anyone can pay it."

"What's wrong?"

The female nurse instantly wanted to confide in him, "Uncle Jiang, you don't know, when this family was making trouble yesterday, I happened to pass by. This person, her brother took all the money from the family..."

Moreover, this woman is not just making trouble, she is also quite pitiful. Once someone passes by, she will stop to prevent outsiders from seeing the excitement in their home. I don’t know whether this is because of good upbringing or because she is concerned about her brother’s face.

After hearing this, the man called Uncle Jiang didn't know what to say for a moment.

The elderly female doctor, who had remained silent the entire time, said, "This kind of situation is quite common in the hospital. In my opinion, you reap what you sow. Even if she borrowed the money, she'll have to pay it back."

She is old and works in this position, so she has seen a lot of human instability over the years.

After Lu Chunnong left, she had no idea how many people had discussed her.
