Chapter 73

Chapter 73

At nine o'clock, Lu Qin walked around the factory and distributed the remaining photos. Naturally, he was very welcomed and he became familiar with several young comrades.

Half an hour later, he staggered back to the Propaganda Department, unable to hide the smile on his face.

Seeing that Section Chief Zhao was not around again, Lu Qin put the manuscript into his army green bag and said, "Youzhi, I'm going out for a bit and will be right back."

Lu Qin felt that since they were so close, there was no need to call each other "comrade" every day.

Xu Youzhi didn't notice anything was wrong, but seeing his attitude, he lowered his voice and said, "Come back soon."

"I'll be back in half an hour, don't worry."

Laiyang County Post and Telecommunications Bureau is just down the street from the food factory, fifteen minutes away. It opens at nine o'clock every day, has a one-hour break at noon, and closes on time at five-thirty in the afternoon.

The iconic feature of the Post and Telecommunications Bureau is particularly obvious, that is "green".

According to his understanding, it currently has four businesses, namely telephone installation and maintenance, postal service (letters and parcels), remittance, and newspaper and magazine subscription.

There are four or five green pillars at the door. When you push the door open, you will see a row of green counter-style tables. The ones for customers are about half a meter higher than the ones inside. Four staff members are sitting inside, or should I say five, and there is another person standing behind to do auxiliary work.

Lu Qin took a look and saw that the man seemed quite busy.

The female staff member on the right was wearing a dark green dress with a white shirt underneath and had neat short hair. She wrapped the item and handed it to the person on the left. The person on the left then picked up a brush beside her and used the ink in the cup to make a note on the package, and then wrote on it with a thinner black pen.

Lu Qin didn't see clearly what she was doing. He walked to the far left and gently reminded her on the table, "Hello comrade, I want to send a letter."

"Stamps from other provinces are eight cents, and stamps from within the province are four cents." The staff member who spoke tore off a piece of wrapping paper, opened the drawer neatly, stamped it, handed it to the person on the right without even looking at it, and then looked up.

She was stunned for a moment, mainly because the young man was leaning against the counter. She was so close that she noticed his curled eyelashes at first glance, followed by his handsome face. His skin was even whiter than theirs.

Lu Qin took out a dime and two cents from his pocket, put the two cents back, and handed the dime directly to her.

"Hello comrade, please send it to the city and provincial capital dailies."

It’s always a good idea to invest more.

The "Two Together" staff took the money from him, then pulled out an envelope and tore off a stamp and stuck it on.

"right."

"Can you read? Should I fill in the address or do you?" she asked routinely.

"I'll write it myself, please forgive me, comrade."

"Don't make any mistakes." The staff reminded him.

Lu Qin took off the pen cap, quickly filled in the recipient's name and sender's address, and then stuffed the manuscript in.

The staff member took it and took a look. Wow, the handwriting is quite beautiful. Just like his others, after confirming it with him, he sealed it with glue and stamped the envelope. After finishing, he put the letter in the mailbox behind him.

The whole process takes no more than three minutes.

"Comrade Lu, I hope you get a reply."

Lu Qin was speechless for a moment, then a smile appeared on his face. "Thank you for your good wishes."

The staff blushed at this smile.

After coming out of the post office, Lu Qin hurriedly rode his bicycle to the factory.

Mr. Huang was guarding the door diligently. He saw the young man coming from a distance and said, "It's done."

"I'm done, I'm going back to work."

As for whether you can be noticed by the newspaper, that depends on fate.

"Let's go, get back to work." Don't let your boss find out.

I have to say that Mr. Huang’s guess came true, and it was even a coincidence.

On the way to the Propaganda Department, Section Chief Zhao was walking side by side with a male comrade, and the two were chatting as they walked.

Lu Qin paused for a moment, and then walked forward very naturally, with his sleeves rolled up on both sides, not looking like he was out doing personal business at all.

Section Chief Zhao and Zhou Jun were walking together. When they heard footsteps behind them, they walked inside.

"I don't know the details, I'll have to ask the production department."

"Then you can combine the previously mentioned manuscripts, and I will organize them into a speech manuscript. I'll have to trouble your publicity department for this matter."

Section Chief Zhao thought that Zhou Jun was worthy of being able to hold the position of factory manager at such a young age. Not to mention his high level of education, just the way he spoke made people feel comfortable.

He looks a bit like someone in their publicity department, the thought flashed through his mind.

"Section Chief."

As soon as I thought of someone, they arrived.

Section Chief Zhao thought he had misheard. Hearing the sound, Zhou Jun also turned around.

Lu Qin only then realized that the person standing next to Section Chief Zhao was a familiar face. He nodded politely to him.

Now that the person was in front of him, he couldn't help but introduce them. Section Chief Zhao turned sideways and said, "This is our new comrade from the Propaganda Department, Lu Qin. You should have met him yesterday."

Comrade Lu extended his hand, "Hello, Comrade Zhou."

He then realized that Comrade Zhou worked in the factory office and was the factory director's secretary.

Zhou Jun was thin and stood straight, his hair combed meticulously. He reached out to shake his hand, "Hello, Comrade Lu, I know you. This is not the first time we've met."

Even Section Chief Zhao looked at them in confusion.

This conversation was unexpected, but fortunately Lu Qin reacted quickly. "What a coincidence! This isn't the first time I've heard your name, Comrade Zhou."

Most of the people who are mentioned repeatedly by the workers in the factory are well-known figures.

Zhou Jun had a subtle smile in his eyes. He let go of his hand and looked at Section Chief Zhao. "That's it for now. I'll trouble you with the rest, Section Chief Zhao. I still have a lot of work to do, so I'll go back to the factory first."

After Zhou Jun left, Section Chief Zhao cleared his throat and asked, "When did you get to know Comrade Zhou?"

Lu Qin followed his steps and said, "I can't say I've known him for a long time. Yesterday was the first time I met him, but I'm sure I've heard many people talk about him. After all, Comrade Zhou is young and capable."

When Section Chief Zhao heard this, he looked at him and seeing that he was frank, he didn't ask any more questions.

Lu Qin didn't stop talking, and asked tentatively, "I have returned the photos to their original owner. I will go help Secretary Niu and the others prepare the script for the family interview this afternoon."

"That's it for now."

Lu Qin didn't get the expected answer, but he was not in a hurry and followed him back to the office.

Seeing that he and Section Chief Zhao came back together, he looked at the time and saw that it took exactly half an hour to go back and forth. "It's done."

Lu Qin took the bag off and put it on the table. "It's done. Have you finished the transcript for the family interview? Do you need my help?"

"Not yet." He looked at the work in his hands, "Do you want to take a break first?"

Lu Qin glanced in Section Chief Zhao's direction and lowered his voice, "Let me help you first. Let's finish it quickly so we can rest at noon."

In that case, Xu Youzhi took out half of it and said, "I have sorted all the documents in this stack. You should put these together and summarize the propaganda ideas. There are still some documents in the hands of Secretary Niu and Secretary Zhang. If you find any missing, you can ask them for them."

Afraid that he wouldn't be able to finish the work, Xu Youzhi didn't give him too much.

"Okay." Lu Qin sighed. Once he arrived at the Propaganda Department, he couldn't escape writing this stuff, from morning till night.

The two of them whispered together but the sound was not loud enough to affect others.

Lu Qin brought the materials to his desk, but before that, he went to get some tea and came back.

This resulted in Section Chief Zhao looking up many times to see Lu Qin's figure swaying whenever he wanted to drink water, as if he was stepping on his resting spot.
