The morning sunlight shone through the sparse clouds into the courtyard. Baichuan pushed open the wooden door, and a strong, bitter smell of medicine wafted out, causing him to wrinkle his nose involuntarily.

"It smells strongly of medicine."

Looking up, Yun Qian was sitting on a blue stone bench in the center of the courtyard, her plain dress looking particularly elegant in the morning light. In front of her was a medicine stove, the medicinal soup inside was still bubbling, and the rising steam carrying the aroma of medicine filled the air.

Hearing the noise, Yun Qian turned around and beckoned to Bai Chuan, saying in her usual tone, "Come here."

Bai Chuan obediently walked to her side, his gaze falling on the medicine furnace with a hint of curiosity.

Yun Qian picked up the medicine spoon and slowly poured the dark brown medicinal soup, which had been simmering all night, into a white porcelain bowl. Spiritual energy flowed from her fingertips, and a pale golden light enveloped the rim of the bowl. In a short while, the scalding hot soup cooled to a suitable temperature.

"Try this medicine to see if it works for your cough."

Bai Chuan took the bowl of medicine and, without any hesitation, tilted his head back and drank it all in one gulp. As the medicine entered his throat, he frowned slightly, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes.

"This medicine..."

As a medical practitioner, Baichuan was a rare genius in the art of medicine. He had tasted countless medicinal soups and herbs, and could identify ordinary medicinal materials as soon as he tasted them. But today, he couldn't tell what medicinal materials were used to make this bowl of medicine.

Yun Qian had anticipated his reaction. The medicine Lin Huaiyu brought was unique to the Nine-Tailed God Clan, and Bai Chuan had never seen it before, so he couldn't taste it. She took out a bundle from her Qiankun bag and stuffed it into Bai Chuan's arms. "Here, the prescription and the remaining medicinal herbs are all here. Study them yourself."

Bai Chuan, holding the suddenly appearing bundle, looked bewildered. Before he could react, Yun Qian had already stood up and stretched.

“It takes too long to brew this medicine, so you’ll have to do it yourself from now on.” She said, covering her mouth and yawning, a few tired tears welling up in the corners of her eyes. “I’m going back to sleep for a while, you can figure it out yourself.”

Zhihua woke up too, and followed her with graceful steps. Yun Qian returned to her room and fell asleep immediately. Zhihua lightly leaped onto the bed, leaned close, and gently sniffed her.

It's Lin Huaiyu's scent; he's been here.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the killing of the Tianyan Mountain disciples lasted for half a month, but ultimately came to nothing. After all, Sili could not truly break ties with the Demon Clan, much less allow others to search for traces of the Demon Clan within Tianyan Mountain.

This result was exactly what Yun Qian had expected.

After some twists and turns, the Immortal Sect Competition continued. In several rounds of competition, the three from Cangmin Mountain neither deliberately concealed their strength nor overly flaunted it. They remained steady and advanced smoothly.

Days passed by peacefully, so peaceful that one almost forgot the undercurrents of crisis. Until the Immortal Sect Competition entered its final stage, with only ten disciples remaining to compete for the ultimate championship.

This competition, which had dragged on for half a year, finally reached its climax. After rounds of competition among the elite disciples sent by hundreds of sects, the ten who remained were all the best of the younger generation.

There were three people from Cangmin Mountain, two from Tianyan Mountain, four from Qingyun Mountain, and one little-known disciple from Huishan Sect.

Everyone is eagerly awaiting to see who will win the title this year.

Is it the sharp and ambitious Tianyan Mountain, the powerful Qingyun Mountain, or the steady and reliable Cangmin Mountain? Or perhaps the dark horse Huishan Sect that suddenly emerged?

On the Wuji Platform, the elder of Tianyan Mountain, in charge of this grand competition, held a brocade scroll and announced loudly: "The Immortal Sect Grand Competition has determined ten disciples to enter the final duel. They are: Yun Qian of Cangmin Mountain, Qin Wu of Cangmin Mountain, Bai Chuan of Cangmin Mountain, Ji Yunxing of Qingyun Mountain, Su Feng of Qingyun Mountain, Zhao Yuan of Qingyun Mountain, Liu Pinji of Qingyun Mountain, Si Feng of Tianyan Mountain, Su Qing of Tianyan Mountain, and Zhuang Luo of Huishan. Please come to the stage, ten disciples, and prepare for today's duel!"

Yun Qian slowly walked up the Wuji Platform, her light-colored dress not particularly eye-catching among the many disciples. Standing opposite her was Zhuang Luo, a disciple from a small sect who had suddenly appeared this year. He wore an ordinary black outfit and looked unremarkable.

Yun Qian calmly observed the other person; it was yet another new name, a character who had never appeared in the original book.

In the original novel, Song Xuezhu and Zhou Tian should have been among the top ten in the Immortal Sect Competition, but now it's her and Zhuang Luo standing before her. The plot is subtly changing; will the ending of Cangmin Mountain also be different?

Noticing her direct gaze, Zhuang Luo turned her head.

Their eyes met, and Yun Qian's lips curled into a polite smile.

Zhuang Luo nodded slightly in return.

On the jade platform above the Wuji Terrace, Lin Huaiyu sighed silently. This person always smiles at everyone, yet when it comes to him, Yun Qian doesn't even give him a smile.
