Kittens cannot eat spiders

Kittens cannot eat spiders

Based on the method of drawing the array patterns on the black-clad man's body, and the fact that this array required a large amount of Yin energy to operate, Yun Qian circled several places on the map where similar arrays were most likely to appear. After agreeing on a meeting place with Bai Chuan and Qin Wu a month later, the two junior brothers set off first.

After watching the two figures disappear, Lin Huaiyu slowly strolled to Yun Qian's side and asked casually, "What exactly is the relationship between that demon Wuchuan and your Cangmin Mountain?"

"It doesn't matter," Yun Qian replied crisply, her gaze still fixed on the map.

Lin Huaiyu raised an eyebrow, clearly disbelieving: "If there's no relationship, why would you protect each other like this?"

"Where can I see maintenance?" Yun Qian raised her eyes and asked calmly.

“Bai Lixi’s heart meridian was completely severed, and she is probably still lying on her bed, unable to move.” Lin Huaiyu crossed his arms and looked at her leisurely. “That day at Wuji Terrace, Wu Chuan had been watching from the sidelines, but after Bai Lixi ambushed Qin Wu, he suddenly struck and severed her heart meridian with a single blow. Wasn’t this for your sake?”

"Just now I only mentioned the name Wu Chuan, and Qin Wu immediately denied it. If he wasn't extremely familiar with someone, how could a sword cultivator pay attention to and remember the unique array pattern technique of a magic cultivator?"

"You're testing me again." Yun Qian frowned, somewhat impatient with Lin Huaiyu's roundabout approach.

Lin Huaiyu shook his head, his expression unusually serious: "I'm asking you directly. If Wu Chuan really has a deep connection with you, I will show him mercy if we encounter him in the future."

He paused, looking intently at Yun Qian, and continued, "Besides, haven't you noticed how interesting the name Wuchuan is? Qin Wu, Baichuan... it's hard not to make some connections, isn't it?"

"You're clearly overthinking it," Yun Qian said calmly, still ignoring his words. What could she do if she refused to admit it?

At this moment, Zhihua, who had been quietly staying in Yun Qian's arms, suddenly raised her little head, her heterochromatic cat eyes looking past the two of them and staring straight at Honglian, who was trapped by the golden array behind them.

It leaped lightly from Yun Qian's arms, walked to the front of the formation, stretched out its furry paws, and curiously touched the flowing golden light barrier. Its eyes were fixed on the red lotus inside, and its pink little tongue unconsciously licked the corner of its mouth.

It was hungry.

It wanted to eat the spider demon.

"What do you want to do?" Lin Huaiyu clicked his tongue, and with lightning speed, grabbed Zhihua by the scruff of his neck again and lifted him up.

Zhihua swayed in the air, unable to break free, and immediately repeated the same trick, turning her head to Yun Qian and complaining aggrievedly, "They killed the cat! They killed the cat again!"

Lin Huaiyu frowned, raised her hand and slapped out a silencing talisman, saying irritably, "So you only know this one move over and over again, huh?"

Zhihua's eyes widened, and she glared back at him angrily. So what if he only knows this one trick? As long as it works!

Sure enough, the next second Yun Qian reached out and took it, while glancing at Lin Huaiyu: "Don't use a silencing talisman on it."

"Oh." Lin Huaiyu responded readily, her fingertips twitching slightly as the talisman's power dissipated.

Thanks to Zhihua's commotion, Yun Qian remembered that Honglian was still trapped in the formation. She looked at the red-clad woman huddled in the corner of the formation with a terrified expression, then looked down at Zhihua, who was still staring at Honglian unwillingly in her arms. Her brows furrowed slightly, and after hesitating for several seconds, she spoke with a hint of disgust: "Maybe we shouldn't eat spiders?"

Zhihua placed its front paws on Yun Qian's shoulder, its fluffy head rubbing against her cheek, with a hint of coquetry: "This is a top-grade product that has been cultivated for over a hundred years, I want to eat it."

"No, you don't want to." Yun Qian's attitude was firm. She simply couldn't accept that this seemingly delicate and cute kitten would eat a large, ferocious-looking spider.

The red lotus inside the formation was clearly terrified; her face was deathly pale and her body was trembling slightly.

Seeing this, Lin Huaiyu raised her hand and lightly flicked Zhihua's forehead: "Eat, eat, eat! All you ever do is eat!"

"How dare you treat this elder like this!" Zhihua suddenly bristled, nimbly climbing onto Yun Qian's shoulder and glaring down at Lin Huaiyu. "When I return to the Nine-Tailed God Clan, I will definitely deal with you!"

Lin Huaiyu laughed out loud as if he had heard something extremely funny: "You?"

Zhihua was so angry that his mustache stood on end: "Who do you think you are!"

Yun Qian sighed helplessly and turned her attention back to Hong Lian. She guessed that Hong Lian hadn't told the whole truth underground, but she could also sense that Hong Lian didn't possess any demonic aura from harming mortals; she truly hadn't harmed anyone. Since the other party was unwilling to say more, Yun Qian didn't want to force her.

She crouched down, looking directly at the still-shaken Honglian within the formation, and asked calmly, "Is there anything else you want to say to me? If not..." I will break the formation and let you leave.

Before he could finish speaking, Honglian interrupted him urgently, her voice trembling with tears: "Don't kill me! Please don't kill me! I'll talk! I'll tell you everything!"

Her eyes were brimming with tears, and her voice choked with sobs as she spoke: "That inner core... belonged to my beloved. He was a sword cultivator, and after the sudden change in Kangxun Village, he insisted on entering that inn, hoping to find a way to save the villagers. But I never imagined that he had already been targeted! From the moment he stepped into the inn, his inner core... was ripped out!"

“My cultivation level is too low to save him... I could only try to preserve his inner core. Later, I learned of a forbidden technique that could potentially reshape the physical body and revive a cultivator using the inner core as its core... That's why I infiltrated that formation, hoping to retrieve his inner core... I really just wanted to save him…”

Yun Qian listened quietly, remaining silent for a long time before softly saying, "She is already dead. Forcibly reversing life and death is a reversal of the natural order, and the risk is enormous. If we are not careful, we will be doomed."

"So, I'm sorry, Miss Honglian, I cannot give you his inner core." Her voice was soft, but it carried an undeniable firmness.

Honglian's tears flowed even more fiercely. She looked at Yun Qian and murmured, "If he were still alive... he would probably say the same things as you... But I'm just so unwilling... How could such a good person die like this, without even peace in death..."

Yun Qian raised her hand, and a flash of spiritual light appeared at her fingertips. The golden array that had trapped Hong Lian dissipated like melting snow. "You can leave now."

Honglian looked up in astonishment, staring at Yun Qian in disbelief: "You...you're not going to kill me?"

"Why would I kill you?" Yun Qian asked rhetorically, her eyes filled with pure confusion.

"Because... I am a demon."

"Just because it's a demon, does that mean it should be killed?" Yun Qian blinked, her expression serious. "Who set this rule?"

Honglian stared at her blankly, as if she saw in her the same figure who would not discriminate against any living being because of their status. Her eyes were still red, and she looked deeply at Yun Qian, whispering "Thank you," before her figure flickered and turned into a wisp of red smoke, disappearing from the spot.

Zhihua watched as the delicious food she was about to eat flew away, and couldn't help but sigh softly.

"Why are you sighing?" Yun Qian tilted her head to look at it, her tone tinged with helplessness. "How could such a small cat like you think of eating such a big spider?"

“I’m not young!” Zhihua immediately puffed out his chest and retorted.

“It is indeed quite large,” Lin Huaiyu suddenly chimed in to confirm.

Yun Qian's gaze shifted between Zhihua and Lin Huaiyu, a hint of scrutiny in her eyes: "So, you fed it spiders before?"

“No, not at all.” Lin Huaiyu shook his head decisively, distancing himself from the matter. “It rarely needs to eat, and when it does speak, it’s mostly just because it’s hungry.”
