Chapter 1 Getting a Certificate

Civil Affairs Bureau.

It was nine o'clock in the morning, and the Civil Affairs Bureau had just opened when it welcomed a young couple who were about to register.

The registration clerk at the front desk typed without looking up and said, "Registering for marriage? Give me your household registration and ID card."

After taking the materials, the staff member typed on the computer for a while, then popped his head out from behind the huge desktop computer and said to the couple who were about to get married: "Let's go to the back to take pictures..." Before he finished speaking, he looked at the two people in front of him, took a breath, and the unfinished words stuck in his mouth almost choked him.

The man was tall, his shoulders broad and his waist narrow in his black suit. His face was as gentle as jade, and his fox eyes were slightly tilted upward, as if naturally smiling. A string of brown Buddhist beads hung on his wrist, giving him a very abstinent and cold look.

The woman beside him was also unforgettable at first sight. She was tall and thin, with a small, delicate, oval face that was fair and translucent. She had a pair of heroic sword-like eyebrows inserted into her temples, and her almond-shaped eyes had slightly drooping corners, revealing an innocent feeling. There was no expression on her face, but she did not make people feel arrogant. Instead, she was cold and aloof, like a goddess who was not a mortal.

At this moment, a look of surprise appeared on the originally cold face, breaking the sense of alienation on his face.

This was the situation when Lin Yitang opened her eyes. She was a little dazed and thought: What is this place?

She glanced around calmly, and the three big words "Civil Affairs Bureau" in the middle were like a thunderclap that made her panic. No, what was going on?

At this time, a deep and pleasant voice sounded: "Let's go and take pictures."

Lin Yitang subconsciously followed the people around him and before he could catch his breath, he was sitting on the chair facing the camera. With a "click", the photo was taken.

Lin Yitang came back to her senses after hearing the voice and looked at her marriage partner beside her. After seeing what the person looked like, she felt inexplicably relieved, thinking it was another prank by her best friend.

But she was soon slapped in the face. The following process made Lin Yitang feel more and more wrong, as if this incident had really happened. After all the formalities were completed, the two stood at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau. A black Bentley parked in front of them. Lin Yitang heard the man next to her say, "I'll send someone to take you back. I have a business trip, so I'll leave first."

After saying that, the man got in the car and drove away, leaving Lin Yitang in a state of bewilderment. However, she breathed a sigh of relief at this. "This must be fake, right? Who would go on a business trip on the day of getting a marriage certificate?" Even thinking this way, she still felt a sense of panic.

A silver private car stopped in front of her, with a little golden man standing in front of the car. The driver got out of the car and said to her respectfully, "Madam, the master sent me to take you back to the manor."

Lin Yitang said subconsciously: "Okay."

As soon as she took a step, she felt dizzy and her eyes went dark. She knew nothing.

It was July, a sunny summer day, and the afternoons were incredibly hot. Even though the trees in the manor were lush and green, they couldn't stop the cicadas from chirping louder and louder. The manor was cool and refreshing, and the servants were doing their jobs in an orderly and careful manner. The whole house seemed quiet from the outside.

In the master bedroom, a bulge formed under the silk quilt. A slender, white hand dangled over the edge of the bed, its cyan veins faintly visible, making it appear even more pale and fragile. It stirred beneath the quilt, as if choking, and struggled to reveal its delicate, small face.

Lin Yitang's brows were furrowed in anxiety, as if he was sleeping very restlessly.

Suddenly, a scream was heard and the person on the bed sat up, his thin shoulders trembling slightly.

Lin Yitang breathed rapidly and reached out to hold his heart, which was beating abnormally. After he calmed down a little, he realized belatedly that he was sweating.

Thinking of the dream just now, Lin Yitang felt dazed and a chill came over his body.

In her dream, she seemed to see a truck crashing towards her. She hurriedly turned the steering wheel, but it was too late. She was instantly swept to the side by the speeding car. Panic shouts came from all around. She struggled to look up, but saw only blurry figures. The shrill sound of ambulances came from far away. Lin Yitong stretched out her hand, instinctively wanting to grab something, but in the end she could only fall dejectedly, like a gorgeous yet fragile butterfly, and lost her voice in an instant.

Was it a dream? Lin Yitang reached out and gently pressed his temple to relieve the swelling on his head. His eyes gradually cleared, and he finally had time to observe his current situation.

She raised her head and looked at the room in front of her, somewhat incredulous.

The room he was in at the moment was 30 square meters, with three doors extending out to the bathroom, cloakroom and dressing room respectively. But without exception, all of them were decorated in a modern minimalist style, mainly in classic black and white colors, which looked simple and elegant.

However, she remembered it very clearly. Her house was only 80 square meters and had a log-style home style, which was very different from the layout of the room at this time.

As if seeking support, her hand unconsciously grabbed the quilt, and a cool and silky touch slid across the palm of her hand. Lin Yitong looked down and found that it was a black silk quilt. She was stunned for two seconds, and her heart suddenly tightened. This is not her home, why is she still sitting on the bed in pajamas?

She watched cautiously for a while, and when she was sure she was the only one in the room, she finally threw off the quilt and tried to get out of bed. As her feet touched the ground, they went soft, and she fell to the carpet with a heavy thud.

A soft female voice suddenly sounded outside the door, "Madam, are you awake?"

Madam, are you calling her? Is this drama not over yet? Lin Yitang's eyes flashed.
