Wen Hangxing frowned slightly, glanced at Yan Junqi, and said that this was a bit too much.
Jiang Sui's originally smiling face suddenly turned cold, revealing a cold and lonely look. The mask was ruthlessly pierced, revealing the soul inside that had been hidden for a long time but still contained resentment, unwillingness and a little loneliness.
Yan Junqi didn't stop talking. He stared at Jiang Sui for a long time, then forced a smile and said, "Don't pretend to be innocent for so long that you've really become a bun without edges and corners, a bun that can be kneaded by anyone. Jiang Sui, if that's the case, you will not only disappoint us, but also yourself."
Wen Hangxing didn't say anything, but he implied this meaning.
Jiang Sui's hoarse voice was clear in the quiet ward. "How could that be? Everything the Jiang family has given to me and my mother, I will return tenfold and a hundredfold."
He sat on the bed, his face pale, his long eyelashes covering the expression in his eyes, and his whole temperament revealed an inexplicable coldness.
Wen Hangxing didn't want to see him like this. His eyes stopped at the fruit beside the bed and he changed the subject: "Didn't you come alone last night?"
Jiang Sui was stunned, and followed his line of sight to see the basket of fruit. He smiled helplessly. Although he knew that his friend was perceptive, he was still a little surprised to see him realize the matter so quickly.
He recounted his experience of last night under their gaze.
Wen Hangxing frowned, "What a coincidence! Are you sure this wasn't premeditated?"
Jiang Sui said, "That's what I thought at first, but after some probing, I didn't find any flaws. But when I checked on her, I didn't find any useful information."
"I'm not sure whether they are trying to lure the snake out of its hole or are really just passing by. It's better to investigate carefully to prevent any trouble." Wen Hangxing's eyes were bright and dark, and there was a hint of determination in his brows.
Wen Hangxing looked at Yan Junqi, knowing that Yan Junqi had special connections in this area of investigation. "Aqi, I'll leave this matter to you."
Yan Junqi smiled and said, "No big deal." After that, he immediately made a phone call and asked the person on the other end to check the identities of the two people who brought Jiang Sui to the hospital.
After a while, a call came in from the other end. After answering the call, Yan Junqi looked at the two of them with a grim expression, "My people here can't find anything either."
This was a bit confusing. Wen Hangxing frowned and said, "Then I'll give it a try."
Jiang Sui stopped him and shook his head, "Forget it, after interacting with her, I think there should be no problem."
"This is the first time you think so." Wen Hangxing raised his eyebrows.
Jiang Sui smiled but said nothing.
It was time to change the dressing. The nurse came in and lifted Jiang Sui's clothes.
Wen Hangxing looked at his bruised back with his pupils shrinking slightly, and a chill ran through his body, frightening the nurse beside him so much that she shivered. She quickly changed the medicine at twice the usual speed and hurried away.
Jiang Sui looked at the nurse's fleeing back, shook his head, and teased Wen Hangxing, "Look at you! I told you not to release your coercive power, and now you've scared people away."
Wen Hangxing ignored his words, which were actually meant to ease his mood. He turned his head to the side, not looking at him, but said seriously: "No matter what you do, we will support you."
This was the first time in all these years that he had revealed his feelings so clearly. Jiang Sui was a little overwhelmed, and then his eyes reddened silently. "I know." He added, as if to emphasize, "I know."
