Chapter 40 Exercising the Husband's Rights

At this time, the butler came to the dance room. He was surprised when he saw Wen Zeli, but he immediately concealed it. He stood outside and said to the two of them: "Sir, Madam, dinner is ready."

Wen Zeli took the lead and said to Lin Yitong: "Let's go." Seeing Lin Yitong nodded obediently, a smile flashed across Wen Zeli's eyes.

The two walked towards the restaurant side by side, looking at each other in silence. The butler was a very perceptive person. He looked at their backs and realized that the atmosphere between them had changed. No, to be more precise, the gentleman's attitude towards his wife had changed.

Hey, it’s good to be young.

Lin Yitong felt that Wen Zeli was a little strange today. For example, he kept bringing up conversations during dinner, asking questions like "How was the teacher today?", "How was your day?", "What did you have for lunch?" and so on.

When Wen Zeli asked the fourth question, Lin Yitang sighed, put down his chopsticks and said, "Boss Wen, what's wrong with you today?"

She waited for Wen Zeli to explain, but the person opposite her looked at her with an expression that said, "I don't understand what you're talking about." "What's wrong? Am I talking too much and disturbing your meal?"

Lin Yitang replied helplessly: "No, you know what I'm talking about."

Wen Zeli put away the innocent expression on his face and said, "I'm just concerned about you."

Staring at Lin Yitang's cold eyes, Wen Zeli said calmly: "What? Is there anything wrong with me caring about my wife?"

Lin Yitang instantly retracted her gaze. Logically, there should be no problem. She instinctively wanted him to stop asking her, but her rational mind stopped her. After all, she only knew that the original owner and Wen Zeli had signed a prenuptial agreement, but she didn't know the specific content. Therefore, she didn't know what kind of relationship the original owner and Wen Zeli should have. Thinking of this, Lin Yitang retracted her gaze, lowered her eyes, picked up the chopsticks again, and thought to herself: "Forget it, no matter what happened, as long as it didn't interfere with her."

Of course, Lin Yitang would later regret that she was taken back to the den by this sinister fox and raised because she didn't want to use her brain, but that's all in the past. Lin Yitang is now too insensitive to emotions to attribute Wen Zeli's slight changes to love.

Wen Zeli was somewhat dissatisfied with her slowness, but he also knew how to proceed step by step. He always had great patience and liked to slowly circle up his prey and deal with it. He would never give his favorites a chance to escape. Wen Zeli looked at the person opposite him who was concentrating on eating, with the tip of his tongue against his palate, his eyes filled with an endless possessiveness and aggression.

Lin Yitang felt a strong gaze staring at her and raised her head uncomfortably. The person opposite her was peeling shrimps with his head down. She looked around but didn't find anything wrong, so she had to continue eating. Naturally, she didn't notice that the moment she lowered her head, Wen Zeli looked at her with extremely focused eyes.

The food on the table today was very rich. Not only were there Lin Yitang's favorite dishes such as cold-mixed white meat and stir-fried shrimps, but there was also a plate of braised prawns because of Wen Zeli.

Wen Zeli noticed that Lin Yitong did not touch the plate of shrimps at all. He originally thought that she did not like shrimps, but when he saw her eat up all the stir-fried shrimps, he realized something. He moved the whole plate of prawns in front of him and started peeling them.

Lin Yitang noticed his movements. Honestly, ignoring the greasy prawns, Wen Zeli's movements were quite pleasing to the eye. He already had a handsome face, and today, dressed in a white shirt and black pants, he looked even more gentle, like a piece of exquisite jade, with a dazzling luster.

Just as she was distracted, a plate of shelled shrimps was placed in front of her. Lin Yitang looked up and found Wen Zeli smiling at her: "I saw that you don't like peeling shrimps, so I peeled a few for you."

Lin Yitang was about to refuse when she heard the other party speak as if he had anticipated her reaction: "I think the chef today should be Uncle Lin from the kitchen. I think he used to be the head chef of a five-star hotel. This braised prawns should be his specialty."

Lin Yitang opened and closed his mouth repeatedly, his mind torn between his own thoughts and his own. One side of his mind was thinking, "This isn't good. You're eating his shrimp before you even figure out what he wants." The other side of his mind was saying, "Eat it! This is the chef's specialty, it's bound to taste great." "Who cares what he wants? Do you have what he wants?"

Lin Yitang shook his head. Yes, he didn’t have anything that Wen Zeli needed to seek, so he would eat first as a sign of respect.

Wen Zeli wore a gentle smile as he watched Lin Yitang slowly devour the shrimp he had peeled himself. If Wen Hangxing and Wang Sheng had seen his expression, their eyes would have popped out of their heads. They might even have thought he was imagining it and gone to the hospital to get his brain checked out.

After dinner, Lin Yitang planned to go digest his food as usual. He stood up and met Wen Zeli's gaze. For some reason, he explained, "I'm going to the garden to digest my food."

When Wen Zeli heard her report to him obediently, his dissatisfaction with Lin Yitang's getting up subsided. He wanted to follow, but felt that he couldn't push her too hard. In addition, he still had work to deal with, so he said, "Go ahead, be careful."

Lin-Zhi Nu-Yitang looked at him strangely, thinking that something was really wrong with him today: What was unsafe about his own garden? Inexplicably.

After Lin Yitang left, Wen Zeli had no appetite to eat anymore. He put down his chopsticks, picked up the clothes on the chair, went upstairs, and entered the master bedroom. He found traces of Lin Yitang's life everywhere. The originally dim bedroom became very warm under the yellowish light, and even Wen Zeli's temperament became softer.
