Chapter 68 Life Story

After returning to the manor, Lin Yitong followed Wen Zeli upstairs.

"What do you want to tell me?" Lin Yitang asked puzzledly while standing in the study.

Wen Zeli was wearing a pure black suit today. He took off his coat, revealing a white shirt and black pants, looking elegant and refined. He stood there silently, like a tall, silent mountain.

He said: "What I want to tell you today is Wen Hangxing's life story."

"What?" Lin Yitang's heart skipped a beat. She anticipated that she was about to learn something unusual, and her heart was pounding like a drum for a moment.

"The Wen family has two sons. I have an older brother, the one I'm taking you to meet today. He's been a lifelong admirer of art, but in my father's eyes, the eldest son of the Wen family should be ambitious and capable, not so unconventional." Wen Zeli was silent for a moment, a mocking smile curling his lips as he continued, "Wen Zeyuan met a girl in college. They quickly fell in love, got married without telling anyone, and had a child."

Lin Yitang stared at him with her bright eyes. As intelligent as she was, how could she not know what Wen Zeli meant? Although she used the question, her words were actually full of certainty, "Is that child Wen Hangxing?"

"Yes, when my father found out about this, Wen Hangxing was already four years old. He has always had strong feudal ideas and could not accept that the son he had carefully raised would marry a woman from an ordinary family. He called them that day and asked them to go to the old house because he wanted to handle the matter personally." Wen Zeli's tone was light, as if he was just narrating the past, like an outsider from beginning to end.

"My eldest brother was such a fool! He actually wanted to convince that person. So after hearing the news, he rushed back. But the road was slippery due to the light rain, and the car overturned. He and his wife died on the spot. Only Wen Hangxing was left, his face covered in blood, but he was tightly protected in his mother's arms."

"Stop talking, Wen Zeli." Lin Yitang interrupted him. Her eyes, which were always bright, were now dim. Looking at Wen Zeli, who looked puzzled, she repeated, "Stop talking."

Wen Zeli smiled soothingly and said in a worried tone, "Are you scared? I'm sorry that talking about this topic today may have scared you."

Lin Yitang shook her head and denied, "No, that's not the case." Her eyes flashed with emotions that Wen Zeli couldn't understand. The emotions in her eyes made him stop smiling instantly, and for the first time, he showed a cold and arrogant look in front of Lin Yitang.

"You don't understand, right?" Lin Yitang said with a frown.

Wen Zeli looked at her, his tone puzzled but his expression unchanged, "What is Tangtang talking about?"

Lin Yitang's heart sank instantly when she saw him like this. She didn't answer the question directly, but instead said, "Ever since you came back, I've noticed that you treat Wen Hangxing with no warmth at all. You don't treat him like a child related to you by blood, but rather like a stranger. Is that the reason?"

A brilliant smile suddenly broke out on Wen Zeli's handsome face, breaking the mask of a modest gentleman. He looked sinister and dangerous. He shrugged, "Maybe. I don't know. What if this is just my nature?"

Lin Yitang's face was pale, and he asked weakly: "It's been so many years, Wen Hangxing has been with you for twelve years, don't you have any sympathy for him? Don't you care about him at all?"

Wen Zeli's usually tense back relaxed, and he seemed like a completely different person. He sat down casually, thought for a while, and said lazily: "Of course not, it's just a little thing, I'll just keep it."

Lin Yitang took a deep breath and tried to calm down, but it was no use. A line of tears fell from her eyes, and she felt a sense of brokenness all over. Her voice was so low that it was barely audible: "Not at all?"

Wen Zeli saw her crying and reflexively wanted to stand up, but he still controlled himself and said, "Yes, not at all."

Tears flowed down into her mouth, and bitterness instantly filled her mouth. She buried her face in her hands and calmed down. "You just asked me what I was talking about, and I'm telling you the answer now. You don't understand emotions, you don't understand love. You are so insensitive to these feelings that it seems like you don't have them. It seems difficult for you to understand them, right?"

Wen Zeli did not deny it, "Yes."

"One last question, why do you want me to know?" Lin Yitang raised her head, there were no tears on her face, and she seemed to have completely accepted the series of events that happened today.

"I didn't mean to do that. I can only blame Tangtang for being too smart. I originally wanted to suffer a lot to improve our relationship." Wen Zeli sounded very regretful and said with a sigh.

"What is your purpose? Is there anything about me that is worth your pursuit?" Lin Yitong didn't understand how she became his target.

"No purpose." Wen Zeli turned the pen and said with a smile.

"I'm not a toy for you to entertain yourself with, Wen Zeli. If you want to play the game of getting what you want and then abandoning it, I'm sorry I can't accompany you." Lin Yitong warned with a faint expression.

"Of course not, I am really interested in you. I promise." Wen Zeli raised his hands above his head and swore.

Seeing that he still didn't intend to give up, Lin Yitong didn't want to say more to him and turned away.

The smile on Wen Zeli's face disappeared the moment he saw Lin Yitong walk out of the study. Thinking about Lin Yitong's reaction just now, he felt inexplicably happy and even more amused.

Lin Yitang suppressed her anger and walked out of the house towards the room. Her steps were not as brisk as usual. She thought about her relationship with Wen Hangxing and couldn't bear to imagine what his mood and state would be like after he knew the truth. She could only sigh silently again. Thinking of Wen Zeli again, Lin Yitang gritted her teeth in anger.

After her back disappeared, a tall figure appeared behind the potted plant in the corner. Wen Hangxing walked out with a pale face, his fingers curled up and tensed, revealing bluish-white joints. His eyes stared solemnly in the direction where Lin Yitang left. It was unknown how long he had been standing there.

Then he turned his gaze to the door of the study, as if looking through it at the person inside. He twitched his lips. "So, from childhood to adulthood, that person had always treated him like nothing, and he had been heartbroken and tormented because of it. So, so, they weren't biological father and son. I should be grateful to be raised by him, right? Wen Hangxing, what on earth are you asking for? How ridiculous!"

Wen Hangxing struggled to go down the stairs. Halfway through, he suddenly felt dizzy and the world was spinning in front of him. He missed a step and fell down. A sharp pain came from the back of his head, and his vision went black and he passed out.

The housekeeper's anxious voice seemed to come to my ears, "Call a doctor!"

Wen Hangxing wanted to call him back. Why call him a doctor? He shouldn't exist in this world anyway, so he might as well let him go.
