Chapter 74: Shallow Eyes

Lin Yitang was stunned, as if something was about to break out of the ground in his heart, ready to move.

"What are you thinking about?" Wen Zeli asked curiously. From the moment he said this, Lin Yitong's expression was wrong, and there seemed to be a layer of mist in those usually bright eyes.

"That makes sense." Lin Yitang came back to his senses and said with a slight smile.

Wen Zeli nodded his chin slightly, and even though he knew that she was hiding something, he still didn't ask any more questions.

"Where are Hangxing and Xiaosui?" Lin Yitong looked around the hall but didn't see any familiar figures.

"Wen Hangxing should be on the second floor, Jiang Sui hasn't come back yet."

Lin Yitang frowned, glanced at the clock on the wall, and said worriedly, "It's almost dinner time, why haven't you come back yet?"

"Maybe something delayed him." Wen Zeli replied indifferently.

Lin Yitang was still a little worried, and there was a mark between her eyebrows. Wen Zeli saw it, straightened up and suddenly approached her.

A shadow flashed before his eyes, and he felt a warm and dry touch between his eyebrows. Lin Yitong looked up in surprise, but was held down by Wen Zeli and forced to maintain his current posture.

Wen Zeli smoothed the mark between her eyebrows and quickly pulled away before Lin Yitong could react.

Lin Yitang said in a bad tone, "Who told you to get close to me suddenly? Didn't I tell you not to have physical contact with me without my consent?"

Facing her obviously unhappy expression, Wen Zeli still said gently: "Girls should frown less, otherwise it will easily cause wrinkles on your face."

Lin Yitang subconsciously touched her forehead, feeling relieved when she felt her skin was still as delicate as before. She looked up and met Wen Zeli's smiling eyes, and instantly put her hand down, but she still couldn't get angry at Wen Zeli. She couldn't help but think, damn, he's playing tricks on me.

She sighed, "I don't know why, but my heart is always in turmoil. I feel like something is going on."

The protagonist of the conversation was now sitting in front of his mother's grave, leaning against the stone tablet, as intimate as a child who instinctively relied on his mother. His straight and thin back looked very frail. Every year at this time, he would come to worship his mother and stay for the whole day.

"Mom, I'm here to see you. I missed you so much." Jiang Sui murmured, staring at the woman with a gentle smile on the stone tablet without blinking, and said with a bit of grievance, "You haven't come to see me for a long time."

"I will be able to avenge you soon." Jiang Sui's tone changed, his eyes were sinister and terrifying, "I have been waiting for this day for more than ten years, and I am finally about to succeed."

"Then I'll make that adulterous couple and their two twins regret it. I'll make them live in regret and pain for the rest of their lives."

Jiang Sui's eyes were filled with a sense of satisfaction and joy, and they were slightly red, like a wild beast that was forced into a desperate situation and finally able to resist, bloodthirsty, indifferent, and numb.

"It's getting late. Aunt Lin might get worried if I don't go back." Jiang Sui checked the time and raised his voice when mentioning Lin Yitang. He sounded a little happy. "She's very kind to me. You don't have to worry too much about me over there, Mom."

"Also, come see me more often." Jiang Sui spoke the last few words very quietly, like a whisper, revealing a bit of depression and pleading.

Jiang Sui bowed towards the grave for the last time and walked back the way he came. A man wearing a suit, a little fat and with a few strands of silver in his hair, came towards him.

The moment Jiang Sui saw his face clearly, his expression turned cold. He stopped and his eyes were filled with a biting coldness.

"What? Why don't you call for help when you see your father?" Jiang Yishan said, with uncontrollable disgust and dissatisfaction on his face.

Jiang Sui sneered, "My father died a long time ago, who do you think you are!"

Jiang Yishan was instantly enraged when he heard his words. He stretched out his hand to slap him hard as usual, but when he met Jiang Sui's cold eyes, he regained some of his senses and lowered his raised hand again.

Jiang Sui looked at his actions and found them ridiculous. It was the first time he saw his hands fall. In the past, no matter how badly he was beaten, he would not stop his violent hands. But now, he suddenly became rational.

Jiang Sui looked at him, his eyes sweeping over his gray hair, fine lines around his eyes, sagging skin, and plump figure. An obvious fact was before him - the man in front of him was old. He no longer had a powerful position, the authority to have the final say, or a high-ranking status.

He was just an ordinary middle-aged man. The mountain that had been tall, irritable and seemed impossible to climb for many years suddenly became so small. Jiang Sui inexplicably wanted to laugh out loud, and he did so. The hearty laughter spread between the two standing there.

Jiang Yishan looked at Jiang Sui who suddenly burst into laughter, and felt that the cowardly and humble shadow of the past could no longer be found in his son who looked a little dangerous. He felt offended, and a huge anger swept through his body, almost making him unable to stand.

"Rebellious son, I warn you not to be too arrogant. If you know what's good for you, stop what you are doing immediately! Otherwise, we will all be in trouble in the end!" Jiang Yishan said while panting.

"Really?" Jiang Sui asked, "Why do you think we can't get any good out of this?"

Jiang Yishan felt that there was still room for redemption after hearing his attitude, so he softened his voice. "I know you're unhappy that your brother joined the company before you, but you're my eldest son. How could I ignore you? As long as you want it, all the shares I have are yours."

Jiang Sui looked at his affected expression and felt like vomiting his leftover meal. However, thinking that he still needed to get some documents from the Jiang family, he suppressed his impatience and pretended to be innocent, "Really?"

When Jiang Yishan saw that he had taken the bait, he first felt relieved, but then a feeling of contempt filled his heart. He secretly mocked in his heart that he was just like his mother, a shallow-minded person.

Jiang Yishan's tone became softer. "Of course, you are my eldest son. How could I abandon you? I was wrong before, but Dad also hopes that you will not go astray. I just used harsh methods."

Jiang Sui almost laughed out loud when he heard him shamelessly trying to whitewash himself. How could there be such a shameless person in the world? But he still asked worriedly, "What about Aunt Zhang..."

Seeing that there was a good chance, Jiang Yishan patted his chest and said, "Don't be afraid, I will take care of her and will never let you suffer the slightest injustice." At the same time, before Jiang Sui could bring up the matter, he said politely, "I will also let your Aunt Zhang take good care of your brother and sister."

Jiang Sui looked at Jiang Yishan gratefully and thanked him sincerely: "That makes me feel relieved. Thank you, Dad."

Jiang Yishan patted his shoulder and said, "What's the big deal?"

He frowned and asked after remembering something: "Where have you been living recently? Why can't I find you?"

Jiang Sui lowered his head, looking obedient and answering whatever he was told. "I live at Hangxing's house."

Jiang Yishan knew that his son had always been on good terms with the prince of the Wen family, but he felt that the Wen family was not to be trifled with, so for the sake of his own plan, he should find a way to get someone to move out.
