Time flies, and in a blink of an eye, Ye Jiaying has been working for half a year. During this half year, she went from a newly graduated newbie to a worker working from 8 am to 5 pm.
Because she was familiar with the people in the publishing house, she didn't feel any sense of strangeness and was happy to go to work every day.
"Xiao Ye, our publishing house and the newspaper next door have jointly launched a new column. This is the submission. Please organize it and give it to me."
That morning, not long after arriving at the publishing house, Ye Jiaying was assigned a task by her teacher.
"Okay, Teacher Li Mei."
Ye Jiaying moved the box that Teacher Li Mei pointed to from a pile of boxes to the side of her desk.
She started to organize the submissions, picked out the well-written ones, and gave them to Teacher Li Mei for review. If the manuscript passed, she would call or write back to the other party.
The experience of the past six months has made her very familiar with this job.
The new column is aimed at teenagers, and the theme of the submissions is growth.
Therefore, the people who write the manuscripts are all young people between the ages of ten and twenty. Some of them have very immature writing styles, but some are very sophisticated.
I spent three days quickly sorting through a box of manuscripts, carefully reading through the eliminated manuscripts, and making sure that I didn't miss any excellent submissions.
Then I spent another two days reclassifying the letters that had been initially reviewed.
Excellent manuscripts are those with good writing and inspiration, but many are inspirational but with poor writing, or have good writing but need to be revised.
After the classification is completed, the letters will be placed on Teacher Li Mei's desk. She will meet with the newspaper next door to select the final result.
After finishing the tasks at hand, Ye Jiaying relaxed and felt a little tired. She had been reviewing manuscripts almost non-stop these past few days, and the high-intensity work was a bit too much for her brain to handle, so she needed a good rest.
She ate a spiritual fruit and decided to go home and have a good sleep tonight.
When she walked out of the publishing house, it was already dark. It was too cold in winter, so she didn't ride a bicycle and had been walking back recently.
The wind was quite strong tonight. I shivered when I came out of the warm room. I zipped up my shirt, put my hands in my pockets, and walked out of the publishing house.
Just as I was thinking about how to have dinner in the evening, the driver's seat of the car next to me opened and a thin man got out.
Ye Jiaying was still thinking about what to eat, and when she saw the man, she was stunned for a moment.
The man walked quickly to her side with a gentle look in his eyes, and raised his hand to straighten her hair that was blown by the wind.
"You've lost weight."
The two said in unison.
Then they smiled at each other.
"Why are you back? Was the project successfully completed?" Ye Jiaying took a step forward, buried her head in the man's arms, and her voice came muffled.
"Well, it's finished. I can rest for a while. Xiaoying, I missed you so much."
The man was Gu Qinglin, who had not returned for more than two years. He was an introverted person and was embarrassed to hold hands outside before.
It's been more than two years since they last met. He missed Ye Jiaying so much that he didn't care about being reserved anymore. The person he loved so much threw herself into his arms. He opened his big hands and pulled her into his arms, hugging her tightly.
Familiar people, familiar fragrance, his heart instantly calmed down.
He missed her so much and wanted to hold her like this forever.
In the end, it was Ye Jiaying's rumbling stomach that broke this long-awaited hug.
Ye Jiaying blushed a little, this belly that ruined the mood.
But if your stomach is empty after mental work, you can’t blame your stomach for not being able to cope.
Gu Qinglin chuckled and couldn't help but pinch her cheek.
"Are you hungry? I've booked a place to eat."
