"One hundred and fifty kilograms." Yan Rushan started the tractor and turned back. "Twenty kilograms of cotton. The fabric is cotton, enough for you to make five sets of clothes. There's also some defective Dacron fabric, which is perfect for making bedding."
"Is there more fabric?" Zhong Yuxiu's eyes brightened.
Yan Rushan nodded slightly, "It was a gift from someone."
"Are they so generous?" Fabric was in short supply in that era.
"They knew it was a whole wild boar. They happened to have bought a batch of defective cloth, and when they knew I wanted cloth, they gave me two."
It wasn't a few meters, it was two bolts. One bolt was over thirty-three meters, so two bolts was over sixty-six meters. Wow, that's so much cloth, I don't have to worry about it for two years.
Zhong Yuxiu asked excitedly, "What color?"
"One is checkered gray, the other is lighter red, and the defective products have no extra patterns." "That's even better." Zhong Yuxiu was so excited that she mentally calculated how much cotton she would need for clothes and how much for quilts. Sun Ruhong and Jiang Mei walked over, pulled Zhong Yuxiu aside, and asked, "Did you and Comrade Yan go to the county town again?"

"Don't worry, take your time. You don't have a thick quilt yet, so why don't you make the quilt first?" Seeing so many things, Sun Ruhong and Jiang Mei were envious.
Sun Ruhong nodded. "That's right. The cotton is all wadding. We can make you a set of quilts and cover yourself with them. Otherwise, you'll suffer at night, and we're not in a hurry to wear clothes."
The two men witnessed how Zhong Yuxiu gradually acquired the household items she owns today, and they understood better than anyone how difficult it was for Zhong Yuxiu to acquire these things. It would be a lie to say they weren't moved, but they were definitely not jealous.
Zhong Yuxiu hesitated for a moment before agreeing, "Then I'll listen to you two sisters and make the quilt cover first. After the quilt cover is done, I'll make the clothes. I'll trouble you two sisters again."

"Good idea." Jiang Mei quickly picked up a quilt and put it on Sun Ruhong's bed.
Seeing this, Zhong Yuxiu picked up a piece of light pink cloth and followed. The three of them climbed onto the bed and covered their lower bodies with the quilt. Sun Ruhong then found a pair of scissors, needle and thread, and cut the cloth according to the size of the cotton batting. The three of them sewed in one direction each, and the quilt cover was finished in more than an hour. They stuffed the cotton batting in and fixed it with needle and thread. A thick quilt was ready.
After making the quilt, the three of them discussed and decided to make lunch first, and then come back to continue making the mattress.
During lunch, Zhong Yuxiu poured two glasses of water and thanked Yan Rushan. "Brother Yan, thank you for taking care of me during this period. Without your help, my life would be very difficult. I will drink water instead of wine to thank you for your care."
Yan Rushan said nothing and took the glass and drank it.
Zhong Yuxiu also drank it all in one gulp. The atmosphere at the table was harmonious and they spent the lunch chatting and laughing.
After lunch, Sun Ruhong and the other two made the bedding for the bed underneath and spread it on the bed for Zhong Yuxiu. They took off the simple quilt, put the bedding underneath, laid a bed sheet on it, and placed the quilt on top.
It was too simple before, and anyone who saw it would subconsciously feel a chill in their heart, but now it feels warm when they see it.
"Thank you, sisters. It wouldn't have been done so quickly without your help."
"What are you thanking us for? You've helped us a lot. You even helped us when we were working in the fields. It's fate that we're together. No need for those polite words."
"You still need to make cotton clothes, right? We'll help you so you can wear warm clothes quickly."
Zhong Yuxiu is good at handling things and getting things done, and both of them are willing to help; only with give and take can their relationship be harmonious.
