Chapter 201: Fermented glutinous rice wine

"Comrade Zhong, you've graduated and received your medical license, so why aren't you happy?" Wouldn't others be overjoyed and beaming after receiving these two things? But she was doing the opposite.

Zhong Yuxiu looked back at them, sighed silently, turned around and continued walking.

Haonan wanted to ask more, but seeing Tian Shangguo arguing and winking at him, he paused and didn't ask again; some things are not suitable to be probed into, and they cannot do so, they are just Comrade Zhong's guards.

When they all thought that Zhong Yuxiu would not speak, a sigh came from the front.

"I can't be happy. There are so many things going on."

Haonan: ? ?

Tian Shangguo: ...

The two were confused.

"I thought graduating early would free up time for whatever I wanted to do. I thought getting my medical license would give me a free and easy life. But in the end, I realized it was a trap!" Zhong Yuxiu paused and turned to look at them, her face filled with dejection. "Can you imagine being rehired right after graduation? Can you imagine someone as busy as me finding time to see patients at the First Hospital in the West City?"

Unexpected.

Zhong Yuxiu turned around and walked away, feeling that she was getting closer to being neurotic.

"The longest pit I've ever walked into is the teacher's huge pit." The kind that you can't climb out of.

Hao Nan said, "Comrade Zhong, are you saying that you've been hired by the Medical University? Just like the Huazhong University of Science and Technology?"

"There's only one class at the Medical University, but there are many at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology. There's a little difference."

Is this the point? Haonan looked helpless, "Are you going to go to the West City First Hospital to treat patients in the future? Didn't you just graduate? Shouldn't you be doing an internship?"

"Who knows?" She didn't know anyway.

Several steps were skipped, and who knows where the plot will go next.

"I suspect you are showing off." Haonan had a dull face, as if he was lying down and letting someone rub him.

Zhong Yuxiu wiped her face. Her original intention was to be a salted fish! She wanted to be a salted fish, or a rice bug in the rice jar; but no one believed her. Later, her passion for her career was aroused. She found that she was getting busier and busier, and she was increasingly unable to do everything. If she continued like this, she would die young sooner or later.

Tian Shangguo chuckled lightly, "Comrade Zhong, Principal Xu has arranged everything for you. You must not let Principal Xu down."

“.......” I really want to let him down.

Zhong Yuxiu didn’t know what to say. She just wanted to live an easier life. Why was it so difficult?

Haonan and Tian Shangguo slowed down a bit, Zhong Yuxiu walked in front, and the two of them followed slowly while talking behind.

"Comrade Zhong, are you really not showing off?" Haonan asked uncertainly.

For those of them who knew nothing about academics, they greatly admired intellectuals; they used their brains to drive scientific and technological development and make tremendous contributions to the country. Of all the people they had served, Comrade Zhong Yuxiu was the most accomplished, the youngest, the laziest, and yet the most intelligent.

There are many contradictions in her, but it seems that these contradictions exist naturally and are not disharmonious.

"Don't you know how lazy Comrade Zhong was at the beginning?" Tian Shangguo asked back.

Haonan couldn't help but reminisce, remembering how, when they first met her, she'd been lazy as soon as she got home, lacking much enthusiasm for her work. But somehow, even without enthusiasm, she patiently pursued her research. Later, they witnessed her gradually develop a genuine devotion to her work, sparking her passion and even proactively seeking to understand matters unrelated to her.

Too many memories came flooding back, and Haonan suddenly realized, "Comrade Zhong started..."

She is not a person who is devoted to research, and her original intention to become a researcher was not pure.

"Not too stupid." Tian Shangguo's eyes lit up with a smile, "None of this has anything to do with us. No matter what her original intention was, our mission is to protect him."

"It really has nothing to do with us. As long as her achievements contribute to the country, that's good."

Tian Shangguo nodded, "That's what we should do."

Zhong Yuxiu took in everything they said, but she didn't care what they thought. They were dedicated to protecting her and had no ill intentions; that was the kind of people she could befriend. Furthermore, they were both upright people, so she didn't mind being seen through.

When we returned to the compound, the sun was already high in the sky.

The first month of the year is winter.

The winter sun does not burn people, but makes you feel warm when it shines on your body.

As she entered the house, a warm feeling washed over her. Goudan came out of the kitchen, holding a small bowl with a spoon in it. He placed the bowl in front of her and returned to the kitchen.

I looked down at the small bowl, which contained dark red red dates, wolfberries and brown sugar water.

Her period came yesterday, so Goudan prepared some brown sugar water today; the brown sugar water was so sweet that it was sickening, and she had a hard time.

"Comrade Zhong, you can't drink it if it's cold." Haonan knew what it was as soon as he smelled it.

Zhong Yuxiu looked up at them, lowered her head to try the question, and then raised her head to drink it all in one gulp; the red dates and wolfberries were stewed until soft, and the red dates had no seeds, so they were removed and could be swallowed after chewing twice.

Haonan took the small bowl from her hand and said, "Comrade Zhong, please take a rest."

"Okay." Zhong Yuxiu walked over to the sofa, leaned back lazily, and called out, "Goudan, bring the fruit."

“Ding ding ding.”

A mechanical sound was heard, and Goudan walked out of the kitchen, holding a fruit plate in his hand. He bowed slightly and handed the fruit plate to her.

"Well done, Goudan. You can go back first." He took the fruit plate and sent Goudan away.

It could deliver the fruit plate out of the kitchen in a few breaths, which showed that the fruit had been prepared long ago and would have been delivered even without her calling.

Haonan and Tian Shangguo followed Goudan into the kitchen and saw that the dishes had been prepared and fermented glutinous rice soup was cooking in the pot; the soup contained glutinous rice flour kneaded into balls the size of glutinous rice balls.

"Lao Zao Glutinous Rice Balls." Haonan's eyes lit up. "Where did you get the Lao Zao?"

"It must have been prepared by Comrade Yan." Tian Shangguo guessed.

"That's right." They had never gone out to buy this stuff. There were very few people selling this outside, and it was hard to come by; most of the people of the older generation made the fermented glutinous rice wine by themselves.

Laozao, also known as sweet wine, is called Laozao in S Province.

"The aroma of wine is coming out." Haonan picked up the soup spoon next to the pot lid, scooped out a spoonful and looked at it. "The glutinous rice dumplings are cooked and can be eaten. Comrade Zhong, would you like some fermented glutinous rice dumplings?"

"Is laozao a sweet wine?" Zhong Yuxiu walked into the kitchen carrying some fruit.

Tian Shangguo nodded, "Yes, it's sweet wine."

"Then give me a bowl." He didn't even bother to eat the fruit in the fruit plate. He put the plate aside and stared at the sweet wine in the pot without blinking. "Give me more glutinous rice balls."

It is comfortable to eat fermented glutinous rice cakes in cold weather.

"Okay." Haonan turned around and took out three palm-sized bowls, each of which probably held the weight of two small bowls. He scooped out three bowls, washed three small spoons, and placed them in the bowls. He then turned around and handed them to her. "Comrade Zhong, this is for you."

Zhong Yuxiu held it in her hand. The porcelain bowl was not heat-insulated, and soon the bowl was scalded by the boiling sweet wine. The bowl was hot, so she hurried to the restaurant, put down the sweet wine and went back into the kitchen.
