Chapter 308: A Deliberate Plan

At noon, Mr. Yan returned and the group had dinner together at the table. The old man chatted with Zhong Jing, accompanied by Feng Jianhong and her son.

"Have all the goods been brought back?"

"We've got them all. We've rented a bungalow outside and moved the goods over." Zhong Jing said, "When we get back tomorrow, we should move out. We can't keep bothering my grandfather-in-law."

Old Master Yan waved his hand and said, "We are all family, you can live here if you want. It's just that it's inconvenient to go in and out of the compound, so you might as well move out. If you have any problems, just send someone to come back and tell us. Our Yan family is quite capable in Beijing, and we will definitely help if we can." He could only say that he would help to the best of his ability.

Yan Rushan came over with tea and placed a cup in front of each person. "Grandpa, have some tea."

"Hmm." The old man took a sip of tea and asked, "Is the person you are looking for reliable?"

"Don't worry, they are reliable people. They used to work with us. Some of them are now working on their own. They also get their goods from Cheng Si. They are trustworthy." Sitting on the sofa next to the old man, Yan Rushan was as steady as a rock, his expression calm. "First, let someone help Zhong's parents sell the goods. After they have established a firm foothold, it's up to them whether they continue to be led by others or work on their own."

Zhong Jing's eyebrows twitched. "We are new here and not familiar with the place. It would be better if someone can lead us."

Insurance.

Yan Rushan and the old man understood their thoughts and did not find it strange; poor people had no financial resources and were inevitably short of breath, so they sought safety.

"Then just follow him around. Remember to treat him to a meal every day, or give him something; chicken, duck, fish, or vegetables are all fine. It doesn't have to be expensive, the important thing is the thought."

"I understand, Comrade Yan, thank you for your reminder." Zhong Jing responded with a smile.

Zhong Jiaquan's expression remained unchanged, and his honest face looked very dull.

Feng Jianhong asked, "Comrade Yan, are the chicken, duck, and fish too light?"

"It's not a small matter. Just think of it as normal interactions between you two, as neighbors." Giving each other vegetables or good things from home as gifts to good neighbors is normal interaction.

"I know what to do." Feng Jianhong understood.

When it was time for a nap, everyone went their separate ways, leaving only Gu Lingguo, Wang Daya and four others, and Yan Rushan and his grandson.

Gu Lingguo and Fang Guozhong rarely took naps. When they had nothing to do, they would help in the kitchen or clean. Since Zhong Yuxiu had rarely gone out in the past year, they also stayed at home and did not go out unless necessary.

Wang Daya and Gong Zhaodi are used to housework and meals at home. Apart from buying groceries every day, they spend their time thinking about food at home. Zhong Yuxiu has a picky appetite and will not pick up her chopsticks if the food does not taste good. Therefore, they inevitably spend more time studying it.

"Grandpa, would you like to take a nap?" As soon as the man left, the old man sat down beside the three children's cribs; Yan Rushan looked up at him and asked.

Old Master Yan shook his head. Just staring at his third great-grandson would brighten his mood. "No, you should go to sleep upstairs. Once the Zhong family is settled, you can relax. After all, you are related to Yuxiu by blood, and she is a good person. You should take good care of her and don't let anyone bully her."

"I know. I've already informed you this morning." Being in Beijing is like being on his territory, so he has to take good care of it.

"I see that your wife doesn't reject the Zhong family, but I don't know when she will let it go." She doesn't recognize them, but still gets along with them. The granddaughter-in-law herself is probably confused and doesn't know how to get along with them.

Yan Rushan smiled and said soothingly, "Grandpa, don't think too much. Yuxiu knows her limits. Whether she recognizes him or not is just a matter of time. It's also a time to test their character. When Yuxiu feels it's time to recognize him, she will naturally do so."

"What else can we do?" Yichao asked back. Seeing his eldest grandson speechless, a smile flashed across Old Man Yan's eyes. "It's hard for her."

Yan Rushan nodded in agreement. Seeing this, Old Master Yan didn't want to talk about this topic anymore. "Okay, get lost."

"Then I'll go upstairs first, and grandpa should take a rest for a while." As soon as he finished speaking, he went upstairs.

Old Master Yan shook his head silently. How could he bear to rest? He could only spend more time with his great-grandchildren after get off work every day. At night, they were taken care of by Wang Daya and the others, so naturally they moved to their room.

Over the past ten days, Wang Daya and Gong Zhaodi have proven their dedication to the child, taking excellent care of him. He hasn't developed the usual crying habits of other children, whimpering only when he's uncomfortable. On weekdays, he's in his crib, and Wang Daya and Gong Zhaodi can still do some work while he's asleep, saving both worry and effort.

When he woke up from a nap, the old man was not at home, so Yan Rushan went out alone and brought back two roast ducks. During dinner, he told the Zhong family that they could move in as the couple had rehabilitated their relationship.

"My friend's place rents you three dollars a month, and you can use everything in it. If you need anything, you can buy it outside. It's so easy to buy things now, and many things don't require a ticket. If you really can't find something, just tell me and I'll get it for you."

Zhong Jing and Feng Jianhong smiled happily. Having a fixed place to live was better than living in someone else's house.

"Thank you Comrade Yan for running around for us. We will come back tomorrow after we sell the goods and take them to the bungalow."

"Which bus is it?" They made a decision, which was also the most correct decision. Yan Rushan didn't say anything and only asked them if they had memorized the route.

Feng Jianhong said, "Remember, the 306 bus goes directly there. It's only a few minutes' walk after you get off. We've memorized the place so it'll be convenient for you to get back and forth in the future. If you want to come to the compound, just catch this bus."

Yan Rushan nodded with satisfaction. After dinner, he handed them the keys, wrote the deed, took three dollars from them, and sent them out of the Zhong family's house.

"I've already told the gatekeepers, I won't be sending you there tomorrow."

"As you should. It's more important than anything else that you take care of Yuxiu at home. You take good care of Yuxiu. We are relieved to have you around." The mother-in-law looked at her son-in-law and liked him more and more. "I haven't been to see Yuxiu in the past two days. Is she feeling better?"

Yan Rushan nodded slightly, showing no lack of patience for them. "Much better. Now I can walk around without any pain."

"That's good. Can I go up and see her now?" Feng Jianhong was thinking that she was going to move out and would definitely not have time to visit her daughter tomorrow. At least she was still in the compound today, so she could go up and see her. She didn't know when she would have time to come next time.

They don’t understand things related to buying and selling. They need to learn, understand and adapt to new things. If they can sell them, they will have money.

The price given when purchasing the goods was fifteen yuan per piece. The clothes from Yan Rushan's friend's factory were clearly marked with prices outside, at least fifty yuan per piece; they could sell them for five or ten yuan less, so with this calculation, they could still make half the profit.

Only when she has money can she buy things for her grandson. The things she prepared before are not worth it.

It would cost a lot of money to treat all three grandsons equally; and as for their daughter, they are not around when she gets married, so they have to find a way to earn some dowry for her.
