Chapter 11 Bandaging

"Hey, Dongdong, why are you back at this time? Why are your clothes covered in dirt? Did you fall down?" The little boy nodded. Zhao Yun didn't care about anything else at the moment and hurriedly got off the bicycle. Song Zhi quickly took the bicycle and parked it.

Zhao Yun carefully lifted his clothes and checked for any injuries. He then asked him, "How did you fall? Is there any pain anywhere?"

"It doesn't hurt. I slipped and scraped my skin when we were going down the mountain." He said to his mother embarrassedly. He saw Song Zhi standing behind his mother out of the corner of his eye and looked at him curiously.

"Aunt, I brought disinfectant and gauze. You can take Dongdong home with you and I will bandage him, otherwise it will easily get infected." Song Zhi took a look at his wound. It was bleeding, but the wound was not deep. She still knew this basic injury treatment skill.

Zhao Yun was infected when he heard this, and he quickly pulled Dongdong to introduce him, "This is my youngest son Dongdong, and this is your sister-in-law Song. From now on, you will live in the yard next to our house. Thank you, sister-in-law Song."

"Mom, it's not sister-in-law, it's a beautiful sister." Dongdong felt that the beautiful sister in front of him was the most beautiful in the world, and said to his mother seriously.

"Oh, you naughty boy, why are you so sweet-mouthed today? But you can't call me that. From now on, you have to call me sister-in-law. Do you hear me?" Zhao Yun said to the grinning Dongdong with a fierce face.

Song Zhi smiled gently and thought to herself, she would be happy to let Dongdong call her sister. Sister-in-law is like an appendage of a person, and sister sounds better. It makes her feel smooth and she feels a few years younger. However, in this era, people are very particular. Calling her by random names would seem disrespectful to others.

So she could only accept the title of sister-in-law.

When Song Zhi got home, he first found the first aid kit, cleaned Dongdong's wound briefly, applied anti-inflammatory medicine, and bandaged it with gauze.

Dongdong didn't cry or make a fuss the whole time and was very cooperative. God knows how much Song Zhi hates those kids who throw tantrums at every turn. Compared to those kids, Dongdong is simply a little angel.

In modern times, she has a relative whose child is very unreasonable. He is spoiled by the elders in the family and doesn't understand what others say. He cries and makes a fuss when he is not satisfied. Once she dares to teach him a lesson, the elders start to attack her, saying that she is such a grown-up and still argues with a child?

She was so angry that she started arguing with them. "Is he the only one who's a baby? Everyone else is a baby!" From then on, the children from her relatives never dared to mess with her again.

Zhao Yun looked at Song Zhi in front of her. After spending half a day together, she felt that this girl from Kyoto was not as difficult to get along with as those gossipy military wives said. Although she was a little spoiled, she had a good temper and was polite. She would not look down on others with her chin raised or her nose turned up just because she was from Kyoto.

If nothing unexpected happens, her man will work with Political Commissar Gu to lead troops in the future. Of course, she hopes that the other party has a good character so that there won't be too many conflicts when they get along.

"Auntie, the bandage has been done, but please try not to get it wet for the next two days. This will help with recovery." Song Zhi instructed.

"Okay, thank you for the trouble. Dongdong will thank you to your sister-in-law Song."

"Thank you, sister-in-law." Dongdong heard his mother's words and thanked Song Zhidao sincerely.

Song Zhi found his serious look a little funny and couldn't help laughing out loud. "You're welcome, but Dongdong, be careful when you walk next time."

Then she remembered that when she came, Song's mother brought some milk candy, which the child might like. She quickly opened the package, grabbed a handful of White Rabbit milk candy and handed it to Dongdong.

Dongdong's eyes were full of desire, but he still looked up at his mother.

"No, no, Dongdong doesn't like milk candy. Take it back and put it away. We'll go back first." Zhao Yun saw Song Zhi's eyelids twitching when he saw him holding a handful of White Rabbit milk candy. This thing is so precious.

She quickly pushed it back with her hands. It was not sold in their county town. She heard that this thing was very nutritious, but she was embarrassed to accept it.

When Dongdong heard what his mother said, his eyes darkened, but he remained obedient and didn't cry or make a fuss.

"Aunt, this is not for you. This is for our Dongdong. I'd like to praise our Dongdong here. He didn't cry or make a fuss when he was hurt. He is such an obedient child. Take it! This is for you. Don't worry about your mother." When Zhao Yun heard Song Zhi say this, he felt embarrassed to push it away, and he felt even more favorable towards Song Zhi.

"Dongdong, this is given to you by your sister-in-law Song. Please accept it. What do you want to say when you accept the candy?"

When Dongdong heard his mother asking him to accept the candy, his eyes narrowed into slits with joy and he said happily, "Thank you, sister-in-law."

"You're welcome. This is a gift from sister-in-law to our Dongdong." Song Zhi bent down and looked Dongdong in the eye, pinched Dongdong's chubby little face, and said gently.

"Then Xiao Song, we'll go back first. Lao Qin and the children will be back for lunch at noon. I'll go back and cook for them. If you need anything, just come find me next door."

"Okay, Auntie, you go ahead and do your work. I'll clean up the house first."

Song Zhixian used the newly bought broom to sweep the dust off the tables, cabinets and walls, and then began to sweep the floor. While he was sweeping the floor, Gu Huaijin came back.

In his left hand, he held two enamel pots, in which cabbage stewed with vermicelli was piled high, and in his right hand, he held a bag of white steamed buns.

"Eat first, and then we'll clean up together."

"Let's eat in the yard. The house is full of dust." Song Zhi put down the broom and went to move the small square table in the house.

"You hold the food, I'll move it." Seeing her going over to move the table, Gu Huaijin glanced at the table, pursed his lips and spoke.
