Chapter 137: Exam

Panpan climbed up, crawled out of the quilt, sat on the quilt, and lay on his mother's body, lying on it for a while, and then lying down, making a laughing sound, as if he was playing a game.

Song Zhi impatiently carried him into the bed. She couldn't understand why he was so excited today. He didn't take a nap at noon, and he didn't even talk about going to bed at this time. She reached out and turned off the bedside lamp.

The room was plunged into darkness. Panpan opened his round eyes, looked left and right, his head like a rattle, and called for his mother in a baby voice.

Song Zhi didn't bother to pay any attention to him. The more the little guy paid attention to him, the angrier he got. The stalemate lasted for more than ten minutes, and then the sound of the little guy snoring came from the side.

He was so tired and still didn't go to sleep. Song Zhi silently complained to his son in his heart. Seeing that he was fast asleep, he fell asleep too.

After a good sleep until dawn, Song Zhi packed her luggage calmly. The ticket she booked was for a train that would depart around noon, so she didn't need to rush. After dinner, her grandparents took Panpan out to play again. Song Zhi was alone upstairs, slowly packing her luggage. She didn't have much stuff to begin with, so she finished quickly.

Probably less than two hours after they were gone, Gu's father and mother came back with bags full of things. Panpan's little face was not only beaming with joy, but also rosy, and it looked like she had put in a lot of effort.

"Zhizhi, I bought some snacks and local specialties. You two don't eat them often at home, so take them over and enjoy them slowly." Mother Gu pointed to the things in the bag in her hand and said to Song Zhi.

The two old men had been running all morning and were still panting when they spoke. Song Zhi hurried to the kitchen to pour two cups of warm water for them and asked them to sit down and drink some water slowly.

"Thank you, Mom and Dad. Sit down and have a rest and drink some water." Song Zhi handed the water to them and poured a cup into Panpan's small teacup. They were indeed thirsty after walking for a whole morning. The two old people took the water and drank it in one gulp. It seemed that they were very thirsty.

"I was worried that it would take too long and delay your bus ride, so I came back in a hurry." After drinking the water, Gu's mother looked at her daughter-in-law looking at her worriedly and said nonchalantly.

"Next time, just tell me what you want to buy and I'll go. Why would I let you two..."

"We are all family, Zhizhi, you can't be polite. Have you packed your things?" Seeing that she was restrained, Father Gu quickly changed the subject.

"It's all packed, Dad."

"Okay, it's almost time, we'll go take you there." As they said that, Gu's father and mother were about to stand up again.

Song Zhi said quickly: "Mom and Dad, please don't go to send me off. The car is very bumpy." Cars nowadays are not as stable as those in later generations. Not only are the seats hard, but the roads are not as flat as cement roads in later generations. Most of them are dirt roads, and there might be a pothole somewhere. Even a young person like her can't stand the shaking, let alone taking care of her parents.

"Okay, we'll get your things to the car." Seeing Song Zhi's insistent attitude, Mother Gu didn't force him anymore. She picked up the things she had just placed on the table and put them in her hands again.

Panpan was in her mother's arms, not knowing what she was going to do, but it looked like she was going out. Why was she going out again after just coming back? Panpan's eyes were full of confusion.

After they got in the car, Song Zhicai said to Panpan: "Panpan, do you miss your dad and grandma?"

Panpan understood and nodded heavily. Song Zhi smiled and said, "We'll take a long train later. We'll be able to see Dad when we get off the train."

After she finished speaking, she put her son on the seat next to her and used her hand to block his head from tilting forward due to inertia.

It was the first time for Panpan to sit in the car without anyone holding her. She giggled at her mother and sat upright obediently without moving.

Song Zhi felt that the little guy was very smart. If his father was here, he would definitely toss and turn and not sit still. However, when she was taking care of the little guy, he became overly sensible, as if he knew that his mother was not strong enough. Who said that boys can't be their mother's little cotton-padded jackets?

Although the jeep was not very fast, it was still much faster than walking or riding a bicycle. Song Zhi talked to the little guy in the car for a while, and it felt like no time had passed before they arrived at the train station.

Xiao Liu quickly took out Song Zhi's luggage from the trunk and pretended to put it on the train.

Song Zhi quickly stopped him and said, "I can do it myself."

"Sister-in-law, I'll take it up for you. It's inconvenient for you to hold the child alone. This won't delay things." Xiao Liu saw that it was inconvenient for her to hold the child, and it must be difficult to carry a piece of luggage. It wouldn't be a big deal for him to lend a hand.

"Thank you for your help, Xiao Liu." Song Zhi looked at him picking it up easily with both hands and said gratefully.

"It's okay, I'll go to the front and find a seat." Song Zhi followed Xiao Liu to the path between the seats and found his bed easily.

After Xiao Liu left, Song Zhi, as usual, put a sheet on the bed and then put Panpan on it.

Panpan didn't say a word the whole time and was very quiet.

When Song Zhi finished his work, he suddenly stood up and walked to his mother, whispering, "Mom, pee."

Song Zhi was stunned and quickly carried him to the toilet. Only then did he realize that he was so quiet just now because he wanted to go to the toilet. Really, when did this child become so reserved? But when he thought about it carefully, it seemed that Panpan rarely urinated without saying a word. Since he could speak, he would call for help most of the time when he went to the toilet.

After Panpan finished using the toilet, the two of them washed up and went back to bed. Song Zhi looked at Panpan and praised her, "Our Panpan is so smart. Come, let mom read a storybook to Panpan.

After she finished speaking, she took out an illustrated book from the package, held Panpan in her arms and read quietly. Panpan didn't know if she could understand, so she looked at the book very seriously.

In the afternoon, Song Zhi took out some soft and glutinous pastries and fed Panpan some of them. She also drank a few sips of water. Then the two of them lay on the bed and fell asleep in a short while.

When he woke up, it was dark outside. Song Zhi looked at his watch and it was already past eight o'clock. Panpan had not woken up yet, so Song Zhi called him to get up first. Panpan opened his eyes in a daze and saw that it was his mother holding him. He put his little arms around Song Zhi's neck and began to nod. Song Zhi carried him to buy a meal to warm his stomach.

After Song Zhi bought the food and put him on the bed, Panpan was already much more awake. Looking at the noodle soup and cabbage, Song Zhi first fed Panpan some noodle soup. Panpan drank it but it had no taste or sweetness. He quickly closed his mouth and was unwilling to open it again.

She quickly finished her meal and prepared a glass of milk for Panpan. This time, Panpan actually drank it. He drank the milk in one gulp, his mouth full of milk.
