Chapter 136 Car Accident

Chapter 136 Car Accident

On Friday, Ruan Xingmian was holding a meeting in a temporary conference room.

After training the anchors, we then trained the operations.

She stood in front of a simple whiteboard with her belly bulging, her voice clear and confident.

That energy of concentration and excitement made Ji Ling tighten his grip on the cup. His heart felt like it was burning, and he wanted to do something decent.

While eating, Ji Ling couldn't help but recall: "Mianmian, the first time I saw you squatting on Wutong Road selling sushi with determination, I knew that Gu Xing would definitely be fascinated by you."

Ruan Xingmian raised her eyes, slowed down her chewing, and smiled softly: "Sister Ji Ling, why?"

"At the core, you are the same kind of people, like a hurricane with a purpose, and like a tree rooted in the earth, you know where to grow."

Ji Ling put down his chopsticks dejectedly: "Unlike me, I wanted to study hard in high school because of the great god I never met. After my first love ended in vain, I became interested in computers because of the encouragement of my aunt and uncle. I worked hard to get into graduate school, also because I wanted to have more possibilities with Gu Xing."

She propped her chin up with her hand and said, "Mianmian, my life is so boring. The things I used to care about are fine with me, but I can get by without them. I feel like my life isn't exciting at all."

Ruan Xingmian followed her and put down his chopsticks: "Why aren't you impressive enough, Sister Ji Ling? You were admitted to the most powerful computer school. A trip to Haicheng will reveal the shortcomings of your father's management. You are considerate of your employees and have a strong learning ability. You don't know how much I envy you and my sister's brains."

Ji Ling smiled awkwardly, "I don't have any brains. Mianmian, you're too modest. Your sister is obviously smart, but you are really smart but appear foolish."

Ruan Xingmian stuffed chopsticks into her hands and said, "Are we praising each other?"

Ji Ling shook his head and laughed: "I really listened to your advice and made a small software for boasting with my schoolmates. I even received an order recently."

Ruan Xingmian laughed along: "Is the Navy the counterpart of the Fire Army? The Navy is black, and the Fire Army praises people?"

"Almost. An 18th-tier celebrity placed the order, and they even included a grand airport pick-up service. They gave him the atmosphere of an A-list celebrity, and he even gave it a five-star review."

But even so, she still felt depressed.

"Sister Ji Ling, you don't look happy at all..."

Thinking of someone in Lenan Mountain, Ruan Xingmian suddenly picked up a piece of meat and gave it to her: "Sister Ji Ling, if you want to find Lao Xu, go ahead. Maybe when you meet him, you'll know the answer to your dilemma."

After Ruan Xingyue, Ruan Xingmian once again easily saw through her.

She was basically controlled by these two sisters.

Ji Ling sighed and weakly swallowed the meat in his mouth, "I... am quite dependent on him, which is not a good thing."

"Why?" Ruan Xingmian expressed his confusion, "I'm also quite dependent on Gu Xing."

"You only rely on him for small matters, but he can't influence you in big matters at all."

Ji Ling scratched his head in distress, not noticing the footsteps not far away.

Ruan Xingmian raised an eyebrow and asked her, "Sister Ji Ling, what are you struggling with? If you like someone, just confess. If you clearly like each other but are not together, isn't that torturing each other?"

Ji Ling waved his hands: "Mianmian, you don't understand."

Ruan Xingmian guided her: "Is it because of what happened back then?"

Ji Ling bit her fingernails anxiously and shook her head. "He feeds me Alipay Chicken every day and sends me apology messages, saying that what happened back then was just a small regret and not worth dwelling on. If I miss it now, I will regret it for the rest of my life."

Ruan Xingmian glanced at the figure behind Ji Ling and sighed sincerely: "He is so gentle and good at coaxing people."

Ji Ling propped up his chin with his hands: "Yeah, he's really gentle and can coax people."

"Then why aren't you together yet?"

Her beautiful eyebrows knitted into small peaks, and Ji Ling lamented to herself, "My stubbornness, indecision, and contradictions are no match for his gentleness and consideration."

Ruan Xingmian asked again: "So, what exactly are you struggling with?"

The figure behind Ji Ling held his breath and listened attentively.

"Look, Mianmian, I hope he can let me make the decisions on everything, and at the same time, help me make the decisions on everything."

Seeing Ruan Xingmian listening, she continued, "I hope he listens to everything I say, and I also want him to listen to everything he says."

She was speechless after she finished speaking, "Do I look like a psychopath whose left and right brains are fighting each other?"

"Sister Ji Ling, which is more important, my answer or that person's answer?" Ruan Xingmian signaled her to turn back with his eyes.

Ji Ling's heart skipped a beat, as if the pause button had been pressed, and he turned his head stiffly.

Xu Zeqing was standing behind him, with the cuffs of his light gray shirt rolled up to his elbows and a paper bag in his hand.

A little darker, a little thinner, and his eyes are bright.

He seemed to stand there for a moment, his eyes fixed on her face, with a softness she had never seen before.

Time seemed stretched out.

Ji Ling's face flushed red. The words he had just said echoed in his mind. He didn't know where to put his hands. He could only open his mouth and say, "You...why are you here?"

Xu Zeqing smiled, but it was not the usual polite smile he gave to his employees. There was warmth in the corners of his eyes and eyebrows, like a spring breeze blowing across the lake, spreading tiny rays of light.

"I'm here for a meeting," he said softly, a subtle sigh lingering in the end, "and to see someone too."

Ji Ling's heartbeat suddenly became irregular, and he lowered his head to stare at the rice in the bowl.

Ruan Xingmian stood up and said, "I'm done eating. Go get some more bowls and chopsticks for Lawyer Xu."

Ji Ling's gaze followed Ruan Xingmian as he walked away.

"Lingling, do you want to hear my answer?"

Xu Zeqing's words made her body stiffen and she suddenly forgot to breathe.

He really heard it all.

She didn't say whether she wanted to hear it or not, and her ears began to turn red.

Xu Zeqing smiled gently and couldn't help but take a step forward.

"I promise I'll ask for your opinion on everything and let you make the decision."

When Ji Ling heard this, his ears turned even redder.

He just listened very carefully.

"I promise that I can help you make the decision by giving you advice and letting you choose."

Ji Ling turned around and their eyes finally met.

"I promise to seriously consider your opinion and listen to you."

Seeing that she didn't stop him, Xu Zeqing couldn't wait to take a step closer: "I promise to tell you all my thoughts so that you can listen to me."

Not only did he understand her dilemma, he also turned his tenderness into a warm river that flowed into her restless heart.

Ji Ling's eyes felt hot and burning. No one had ever listened to her properly.

The only two people were Xu Zeqing, 22 and 28 years old.

She sniffed, her voice as light as a feather: "Brother Xu, thank you... Really, I have never heard such words."

But she still shook her head slowly, her eyelashes glistening with moisture: "It's just that I... I'm not ready yet. I feel like there's something blocking my heart, I'm afraid..."

I’m afraid that this warmth is short-lived, and that if I get close I’ll fall and get hurt.

I was afraid of letting Xu Zeqing down.

Looking at her red eyes, Xu Zeqing's Adam's apple moved, and he reached out to touch her hair, but finally withdrew his hand without leaving a trace.

He smiled and said in a steady voice, "It's okay, Lingling."

He leaned forward, his eyes as serious as if filled with stars: "I won't force you this time, and I won't force you in the future."

"Walk slowly, think slowly," he said. "As long as you turn around, I'll be behind you."

Ji Ling was so moved that she wanted to cry. She sat on the chair, hugged her arms, turned her face to the side, and let the tears flow down her eyes.

She would always surrender to his tenderness.

Mianmian was right. As soon as I saw him, all the tangled questions instantly had answers.

Ji Ling was about to stand up and share her good news when the porcelain bowl fell to the ground, making a shattering sound.

I saw Mianmian holding the phone that had just been hung up, standing stiffly not far away. Her face instantly lost all color, and her lips trembled, unable to make a sound.

"Mianmian?" Ji Ling didn't even bother to wipe away her tears. He ran over and supported her from the side as she was about to fall.

Xu Zeqing put down his things and followed over: "Boss Ruan, what happened?"

"My sister called and said that Gu Xing had been in a car accident and is... in the hospital..."
