However, as he got closer to his room, an indescribable eeriness enveloped him. He stared at the pitch-black corridor, not a single light piercing through, and his brows furrowed involuntarily. "Strange, are all the lights here broken? Why aren't any of them on?"
He slowly took his phone out of his pocket. The faint light from the screen was particularly glaring in the darkness. He dialed the control room number, just about to ask about the lights, when he felt as if a dark shadow flashed past him.
"who?!"
Zhou Fang suddenly looked up, warily eyeing the spot where the dark figure had disappeared. "Yi Yi? Is that you?"
However, all that answered him was his own echo and the suffocating silence around him. He swallowed hard and took a few steps forward cautiously. "Who is there?"
Just then, a sudden, extremely loud "bang" shattered from a window in the distance. Zhou Fang was startled by the sound, and his phone slipped from his hand, making a crisp, lonely sound on the cold ground. Instantly, the corridor was once again completely swallowed by the inky darkness, leaving only his rapid and disordered breathing echoing in the boundless darkness.
Zhou boldly called out, "Xuxu, is that you? Stop fooling around!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the lights in the distance suddenly turned on one by one, but for some reason the warm yellow light turned into an ominous red, making the corridor even more eerie.
Zhou Fang's legs felt weak. He slowly leaned against the cold wall, his voice trembling with fear: "Who is it? Come out now!"
"Zhou~Fang~"
The call, ethereal and fleeting, surged towards him from all directions, carrying an indescribable chill.
Zhou Fang's face turned deathly pale instantly, and his pupils reflected the shocking scene at the end of the corridor—a woman dressed in a bright red wedding gown, wearing a heavy veil, stood there quietly, slowly beckoning to him with an inexplicable sorrow and allure.
