The man didn't pause turning the page for a moment, but asked calmly, "Why would the police go there out of the blue? Was it Fu Linzhou who sent the police to question Zhou Fang about Madam Fu's whereabouts?"
The subordinate shook his head slightly. "No, Master. Our people said the police received a report and found Madam Fu at Zhou Fang's residence."
Upon hearing this, the man paused slightly in his book, then a playful smile appeared on his lips: "Oh? You've been found out?"
The subordinate lowered his head even further, his voice tinged with caution: "Yes, Master, should we try to protect Zhou Fang?"
The man gently closed the book in his hands, his eyes flashing with a hint of amusement and deep thought, and slowly began, "I remember there was a surveillance camera installed in Zhou Fang's room, wasn't there?"
The subordinate replied, "Yes, sir. Some of the workers who built the mansion were our people. They did indeed put a surveillance camera in a corner of the ceiling of Zhou Fang's bedroom."
Upon hearing this, the man smiled faintly and slowly extended his hand. "Okay, give me the surveillance footage."
The subordinate quickly pulled up the surveillance footage from his tablet, carefully handed the tablet to the man, and waited for further instructions.
The man took the tablet and immediately spotted Lu An'an in the center of the room. A deep and enigmatic smile crept onto his lips.
"So that's why I was discovered. It turns out that was my variable."
The subordinate looked puzzled and tentatively asked, "Master, do you mean that the extremely small, one in ten thousand possibility you mentioned before really came true for her?"
"Hmm." A cold glint flashed in the man's eyes, but the smile on his lips remained unchanged. "It seems she can surprise me even more this time than I expected."
At this point, the air seemed to freeze for a moment. The subordinate's voice was barely audible, tinged with trepidation and caution: "Then, Master, should we find a way to kill her?"
Upon hearing this, the man's aura changed drastically. He slowly raised his head, his gaze sharp and cold as he stared at his subordinate, but he did not utter a word.
Upon seeing this, the subordinate was startled and quickly bowed, his tone full of apology: "I misspoke, please punish me, Master. I shouldn't have presumptuously guessed your intentions."
The man nodded slightly, his voice calm but firm: "Go and accept your punishment. I don't want to hear such words from anyone again. Her life cannot be lost in your hands."
After saying that, he looked intently at Lu An'an in the monitor and said in a very soft voice, "My variable must live well."
