The man propped his head up with his hand, showing some interest. "Oh? You said you saw Lu An'an at the Jin family's house? When Jin Yan came over, didn't she kick him out of the Lu family's house because of his strange attire?"
Madam Lu froze. How did her mistress know so much detail? But she dared not ask and only replied respectfully, "Yes, she wasn't kicked out."
The man smirked and chuckled, "Interesting. Go on."
Madam Lu nodded and continued, "After Li Hao gave out the medicine at the Jin family, Jin Fangguo only kept Li Hao and kicked me and Rongyu out. I don't know what happened at the Jin family after that, and Li Hao hasn't called me to this day."
The man took a sip of tea and asked, "And then?"
"After that, Rongyu and I went to Lu Mingqian's house, intending to cause a scene, but it seems they discovered that Rongyu had sent someone to kill Lu An'an, so I..."
The man slammed his teacup down, interrupting Madam Lu, his tone ambiguous: "Lu Rongyu sent someone to kill Lu An'an?"
Madam Lu trembled slightly, her voice shaking a little: "Yes, she said she found a mercenary group and wanted to strike first and kill Lu An'an."
The man slammed the teacup down on the table, grabbed Old Madam Lu by the neck, and said in a cold voice, "Lu Yanhua, you and Lu Rongyu are just pawns in my game. You'd better know your place and don't do things you shouldn't do. If you dare to act on your own again, I'll chop off your hand. Do you understand?"
Lu Yanhua met the man's eyes in terror, tears streaming down her face. She nodded repeatedly, "I know, I was wrong, Master. I will keep Lu Rongyu in check."
The man dismissively tossed the old woman aside, then slowly took out a handkerchief and wiped his hands. "Any more?"
Lu Yanhua paused for a moment, her voice hoarse: "Then, when we were leaving, Lu An'an asked me how I met Li Hao, and also asked if I knew what medicine Li Hao had. I was wondering if she had discovered something?"
The man paused in wiping his hands, then chuckled, "Lu An'an, you've really surprised me."
Lu Yanhua was somewhat confused and cautiously probed, "Master, what do you mean?"
"This is none of your business. Go back."
The man didn't answer, but simply gave instructions.
Seeing that the man gave no further instructions, Lu Yanhua left the teahouse shakily.
The man stared into the distance of the tea room and chuckled softly: "Lu An'an, huh, it's An'an."
