Chapter 40 Chu Yangyang, hold me tight
Luo Xifeng lowered his eyes and glanced at Zhao Yi's purple neck and bulging eyeballs. He quickly walked over and blocked Zhao Yi's five major meridians with silver needles.
When he was ready to stand up, Chu Yangyang saw that his fingertips hanging by his side twitched slightly, and his eyes flashed with danger.
Luo Xifeng picked up some straw from the ground with the tip of his boot, and said in a chilling tone, "My princess, you are in such a good mood to come to this slum in the middle of the night."
He took two or three steps forward and suddenly pressed the broken jade fan against her throat. "Have you, the princess, come here in person to silence me?"
Miao Yun was about to pounce on him but was hit on the knee by the fan handle, and stumbled into the moldy window frame.
Chu Yangyang stared at the winding silver lines on the fan bones, which reflected the pale color of her lips. "Luo Xifeng, calm down. Don't misunderstand me. If I really wanted to silence you, why would I come here in person?"
"oh?"
The jade fan moved along her neck, and the cool touch made the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. He glanced at Zhao Yi's appearance, and when he raised his eyes again, they were full of coldness. "The princess has a good plan. She can kill the man with one poison."
He leaned over, his nose almost touching her trembling eyelashes, "Is the princess busy hiding some shameful secret?"
Chu Yangyang couldn't stand his strong sense of oppression and took a step back unconsciously. She stepped on the broken teacup and was startled by the crisp sound.
Luo Xifeng must not be allowed to know that his father had been to Prince Jing's Mansion and participated in the Luo family's massacre.
If it was really true that it was her father who framed the Luo family, she would definitely be chopped into pieces by Luo Xifeng and fed to the dogs immediately.
Chu Yangyang stared at him, her throat tightening. "What secrets could I have? I don't even know him. Why would I kill him?"
Luo Xifeng chuckled softly, and the scent of medicine filled her nose with the approaching footsteps.
He used his jade-white fingers to pry open Zhao Yi's palm, and a jade pendant suddenly appeared inside. It was the jade pendant that Chu Yangyang had exchanged for silver for Zhao Yi a few days ago.
"The princess's white jade pendant is so beautiful, how did it end up on Zhao Yi's hand? Could it be that the princess likes this kind of thing?"
He sneered sarcastically and looked at her as if he wanted to torture her alive.
Chu Yangyang closed her eyes. Look, she was caught again for her bad habit of carelessness.
With this IQ, he won't survive more than two episodes in a palace drama.
"Well, a few days ago, I was passing by West Street and happened to see a few big men beating up Zhao Yi. I couldn't bear it, so I gave him this jade pendant to pay off his gambling debt."
Chu Yangyang shrugged, pretending that everything was natural.
Luo Xifeng's smile widened, giving her goosebumps. "My Lady, please explain your lie. Why would you, my Lady, ask me to pay off my gambling debts for such a lowly slave?"
He approached, his warm breath spraying on her face, like a miasma, full of poison. "Princess, I'm afraid he has something on you, right?"
Chu Yangyang avoided his gaze and pushed him away forcefully, angry and embarrassed. "Luo Xifeng, that's enough! I was just being kind and helping others. You should be praising me and being proud of me. Why are you suddenly suspicious of me? I didn't kill this man. It has nothing to do with me. Stop accusing me!"
Luo Xifeng still sneered, but this smile was like a poisonous snake spitting out its tongue, which could bar its sharp fangs at any time and poison you to death in one bite.
At this time, Luo Xifeng's nose flared slightly.
Chu Yangyang also smelled a pungent smell of smoke.
They both looked towards the source of the smell, and saw a thick smoke coming in from the crack in the door, with flames slowly licking the window frame.
Chu Yangyang tensed up, "Oh no, it's on fire."
The smell of burning mixed with the heat wave hit her face. Miao Yun screamed and tried to pull the bolt, but was burned by the red-hot copper ring and pulled her hand back.
Perhaps because it was a wooden house, the fire spread extremely quickly, and soon a raging fire broke out with thick smoke billowing.
"Be careful!" Chu Yangyang suddenly grabbed Luo Xi's windbreaker sleeve and pulled it to the right.
The burning beam crashed down where they had just stood, sparks splashing onto his silver-patterned waistband and burning a charred hole.
Miao Yun was not so lucky. The end of the beam hit her leg and she collapsed to the ground.
Luo Xifeng pulled Chu Yangyang back in his arms, and her lower back bumped into the overturned cupboard.
The moment the porcelain shards pierced her flesh, he groaned, but his fingers gripped her shoulders even tighter, "Evacuate to the southeast corner."
Chu Yangyang followed his gaze and saw faint water light outside the broken earth wall.
But the fire wall had blocked the way, and Miao Yun was curled up in the corner, covering his bleeding calf.
Another beam fell with raging flames, and Luo Xifeng simply picked her up by the waist.
"Hold on tight!" He leaped over the fire, and the hot air made her face hurt.
Her hair brushed against the flames, a burning smell came over her, and she could hear her frantic heartbeat vibrating against his chest.
The clay pots exploded one after another in the high temperature, and Luo Xifeng raised her arm to block the flying porcelain pieces for her.
Blood trickled down her snow-white sleeves and dripped onto her eyelashes, which she raised in panic. "Luo Xifeng, you're bleeding!"
"Shut up."
His breathing as he leaned against the wall was filled with the smell of burning blood, and the jade bone fan suddenly split the crumbling earth wall.
The moment the cold wind blew in, half of the roof collapsed.
Chu Yangyang was wrapped in his cloak and rolled out. When her back hit the ground, her vision went black.
Miaoyun's cries for help were heard in the thick smoke. She struggled to get up, "Miaoyun is still in there, and so is Zhao Yi!"
"You stay here!" Luo Xifeng tore off the burning hem of his clothes, soaked the clothes in a puddle, and then covered his mouth and nose with them.
He turned around and rushed into the fire. Chu Yangyang's throat tightened and she stretched her head to look at the flames in front of her.
It wasn't until I saw him breaking out of the window carrying the unconscious Miao Yun on his back that my heart finally settled down.
But before Chu Yangyang could react, Luo Xifeng rushed into the fire again.
"Luo Xifeng, be careful!"
Thick smoke carrying sparks rushed towards Luo Xifeng's back.
Chu Yangyang clenched her sleeves and stared anxiously at the crackling window frame.
The broken beam suddenly fell down at an angle, sealing the only exit into a fire trap.
Chu Yangyang's heart tightened, her fingertips dug deep into her palms, and she screamed, "Luo Xifeng, the exit is blocked!"
Inside the house, Luo Xifeng knelt on one knee beside the unconscious Zhao Yi, and used his jade bone fan to sweep away the falling tiles.
Sparks landed on his blood-stained cuffs, leaving winding scorch marks.
He raised his eyes to look at Chu Yangyang, his voice soaked in smoke was like a silver needle tempered by ice, "Chu Yangyang!"
