The oxcart stopped at the entrance of the village.
Wen Nan and Lu Yanqing walked over, but the road was empty and deserted.
When we got to the front of the wooden house, we found a large crowd gathered there.
Wen Nan turned to look at Lu Yanqing, who was equally bewildered.
"Could it be that the child has come again?" Wen Nan asked.
Lu Yanqing shook his head.
The two approached...
When the villagers saw the two return, they immediately made way for them.
Wen Nan frowned, and Lu Yanqing frowned; the couple's expressions were exactly the same.
"Is this my home?" Wen Nan asked blankly.
Lu Yanqing said, "Probably."
The villagers outside looked at Lu Yanqing and Wen Nan with envy and said, "So many people came early this morning, bringing lots of furniture. Madam Wen, you two must have struck it rich!"
"Look how much bigger the houses are now, don't forget about us poor folks."
"Yes, a lot of people came today. It only took one day. I've never seen such a big house in my life."
"It's the biggest house in our village!" The village chief's eyes lit up.
Yang Sheng noticed that there were many people here, so he came over to take a look and was secretly amazed.
For no other reason than... where is the little log cabin from before?
It was rebuilt, with a vermilion wooden door, unlike any other in the surrounding area.
The outer railings alone are tall and large.
Suddenly the door opened, and the person inside made Wen Nan frown.
It was either someone else or Zhang Ruyu, who was bruised and battered.
"Master, Mistress!" Zhang Ruyu greeted the two returning with an especially fawning tone.
Wen Nan had a headache, and she looked at Lu Yanqing next to her.
Lu Yanqing reached out and grabbed Wen Nan's sleeve as they went inside.
Zhang Ruyu reached out and closed the door, shutting the villagers out. Although it was a rare sight, they didn't linger around to watch.
The villagers left quickly.
Zhang Ruyu stood inside, the ground paved with blue bricks...
Within a day, Wen Nan was secretly astonished.
It was still a wooden house inside, but... it was so much prettier than the previous one, even the windows had patterns on them.
Originally there was only one wooden house, but the area has expanded considerably, with Zhang Ruyu extending further back.
It's twice the size of the original house.
Several more rooms were added, making a total of six. Each one was beautifully decorated. The windows had openwork patterns.
Even the wooden houses were painted red.
Wen Nan turned his head and looked around. The kitchen next door was still enclosed, but it had been expanded countless times. The kitchen's exit was next to the fence, and a roof had been built over it. It wasn't enclosed, but rather resembled a pavilion.
A long table was placed there. It's definitely a dining table.
The well is diagonally opposite the kitchen, and it is covered with a stone slab.
Wen Nan pushed open the wooden cabin door, revealing that all the beds inside had been replaced; they were very large and very tall.
Six rooms: four bedrooms, a kitchen, and a study.
Goodness... In such a small village, this house is practically a villa!
Lu Yanqing seemed a little taken aback.
He looked at Zhang Ruyu and asked, "What are you doing?"
“Didn’t Master promise to teach me my studies? The academy is busy, and my home is too far away. I am a diligent student, so I will live with Master from now on.”
"But I accepted your money, why are you still doing this?" Lu Yanqing looked around at the houses, his gaze becoming increasingly complicated.
"This young master... no, I'm used to living in nice houses, so I'm definitely not used to living here. Besides, you only have one room, so I took it upon myself to find a lot of people to expand it."
Wen Nan raised an eyebrow and glanced at Zhang Ruyu. Could this be the legendary fool with too much money?
He's a real foolish son of a landlord.
