Chapter 66 Acting Cute

Lin Qiong looked at the man in the dim light, but because he was backlit, most of his face was hidden in shadow, so she couldn't see his expression.

Without much thought, he said, "Yeah, I'll use it to practice hand massage at the TCM clinic today."

"My mentor said that this is a faster way to improve."

Fu Xingyun: "Were you giving massages to other people before?"

"Mmm." Lin Qiong nodded like a chick pecking at rice.

Fu Xingyun's face darkened upon hearing this. "Who?"

Without hesitation, Lin Qiong replied, "A dummy."

"..."

"I used to massage mannequins with the acupoints marked on them. Yesterday, Jinglin happened to be using one, and my master said it's best to use a real person for massage to practice." A smile played on his lips. "Luckily..."

There is a scenic forest.

The young man spoke softly, but his hands remained focused and attentive throughout.

The other person spoke with a charmingly innocent tone. Fu Xingyun noticed that Lin Qiong always seemed to speak like this, with a playful little tail that tugged at people's hearts.

Fu Xingyun silently looked at the person clinging to his lap, then pressed his tongue against his cheek.

Thankfully, there's Jinglin.

Her tone was pleasant, almost tinged with relief and dependence, which sounded extremely unpleasant to the ear. Fu Xingyun looked at Lin Qiong and asked, "You said that to him too?"

"What?"

Fu Xingyun tried to pretend he didn't care, but his tone was stiff and intimidating, "Luckily, there's Fu Jinglin."

Lin Qiong looked up. "No, I promised him I would make him ribs."

"So this dinner is for him?"

Lin Qiong sat up slightly, feeling for some reason that the other person's words were sarcastic.

Faced with the other person's peculiar way of thinking, Lin Qiong decided to go along with them first, and then eagerly went to their side.

"Of course not, how could that be?" Lin Qiong brought her face close to the person's, her eyes blinking. "Of course it was done."

"It's all for you." She nudged the man's shoulder with a playful, pig-like gesture, "Why bother arguing with a child?"

He is seventeen this year.

"..."

Fu Xingyun's gaze was serious, his deep black eyes appearing even more mysterious in the dim light, as if they could touch and devour.

Lin Qiong glanced at him and swallowed hard. "He can't eat much."

"Was that pot for the dog to eat?"

Seeing the man's insistence on being petty and unwilling to back down, Lin Qiong muttered under her breath, "But he still ate a whole pot."

"What?"

Lin Qiong quickly put on a professional fake smile, "It's nothing."

Fu Xingyun was very generous; he could spend money as he pleased and buy whatever he wanted. Fu Jinglin had even boasted to him about the credit cards Fu Xingyun had given him, so the two of them would compare them, ultimately deciding that Fu Xingyun's cards would sometimes malfunction.

Jin Guang won.

How could such a wealthy man, with his vast fortune, be so concerned about a pot of meat?

Seeing that the man was unhappy, Lin Qiong whispered to comfort him, "Then I won't make it for him next time. It's no use him crying. I won't give him a single bite. I'll make it for someone else."

The two men got close, and the young man's words were right next to Fu Xingyun's ear. Fu Xingyun felt a tingling sensation in his ear, as if a small, still-growing animal had scratched at his heart.

Fu Xingyun frowned and said in a cold, hard voice, "No acting cute."

Lin Qiong looked completely innocent.

Honestly, wasn't he just lying to him?!

Where did she start acting cute?

Lin Qiong pouted, "I didn't."

Fu Xingyun turned her head to look at him, "Still saying no!"

Lin Qiong raised her head proudly, "That's not how you act cute."

As he spoke, he glanced at Fu Xingyun with an arrogant look on his face.

The man swallowed hard. "What kind of?"

"If I do it, it means I've been misunderstood."

Fu Xingyun remained silent.

Lin Qiong leaned forward slightly, looking at the person with her clear eyes, and shook one hand on Fu Xingyun's strong arm, "Do you admit it or not?"

Fu Xingyun felt a sudden darkness before his eyes, as if something had struck his chest hard, and his mind went blank for a moment.

Lin Qiong straightened up. "See, this is what it means to be coquettish."

As she spoke, she pointed a finger at the man and said, "Don't misunderstand me in the future."

Fu Xingyun stared intently at the person's every move. In the dim light, Lin Qiong couldn't see the person's expression because they weren't close enough to each other. Ignorance is bliss, and he began massaging the person's legs again.

After the procedure, Lin Qiong clapped her hands and asked, "Do you feel any better today?"

The man responded with a deep "hmm".

Lin Qiong: "I'll practice on Jinglin again tomorrow."

The other person blurted out, "No."

Lin Qiong looked at the person and asked, "Why?"

"..." Fu Xingyun finally managed to stammer out, "He goes to school tomorrow."

Lin Qiong said, "Oh, it's okay. He said he has two hours for lunch break, one hour for eating and one hour for a massage."

Fu Xingyun: ...

The man took a deep breath. "Is there anywhere he needs pressing?"

"Jinglin practices sports, right? He said he sometimes feels uncomfortable if he doesn't prepare properly. I'll give him a massage while I'm learning."

As he spoke, he got up from the bed.

"Lin Qiong".

Hearing someone suddenly call her name, Lin Qiong turned around. "What's wrong?"

"Wear turtlenecks from now on."

Lin Qiong asked in a puzzled voice, "Why?"

Thinking of the people appearing and disappearing amidst the scenery, I thought, "It's getting cold."

It was only after being reminded by the other party that Lin Qiong realized it was already late autumn, and winter would be approaching soon.

It's been a month since Fu Jinglin was rehabilitated. Perhaps because she hasn't been taking people out for walks and hasn't been paying attention to the changing seasons, Lin Qiong has completely forgotten about the time.

He scratched his head sheepishly, not expecting Fu Xingyun to be so caring. "Yeah, I don't have a turtleneck."

"Then let's buy one."

Lin Qiong: "Okay, I'll check out the mall tomorrow."

He turned and left the room, not forgetting to say goodnight as he went.

The next morning, Fu Jinglin was forced to get up early and sit on the sofa to contemplate life.

Do I really need this diploma?

Lin Qiong came out of the kitchen. "My eldest nephew is calling his uncle to eat."

Fu Jinglin replied listlessly, "I know."

As she spoke, Lin Qiong threw off the covers and got up from the sofa. Looking at her pajama pants, which were still a bit long and reached her ankles, she remarked, "Why are my pajama pants like water pipes?"

Fu Jinglin is not short; he's quite tall. Because of his athletic training, he has a strong physique, which makes him appear even taller. It's hard to believe that he ever wore long pants.

Fu Jinglin looked down at the pile of pants on his feet and muttered, "They are a bit long."

Lin Qiong looked at the person and asked, "How tall?"

“185.” He lifted his leg as he spoke. “These are my uncle’s pants.”

Lin Qiong asked in surprise, "Is Xingyun higher?"

Fu Jinglin nodded, unsure of what the other person was surprised about.

Then he went upstairs to call someone for dinner.

Perhaps because she had been in a wheelchair for so long, Lin Qiong always thought that Fu Xingyun was as tall as he was when he was in a wheelchair.

Unexpectedly, the uncle's son was older than his nephew.

Lin Qiong then straightened his small frame. Actually, he wasn't short, standing at 1.8 meters, but he had a small frame and not much flesh, so he didn't appear tall.

After Fu Jinglin went up to the third floor, he knocked on Fu Xingyun's door and said cautiously, "Uncle is out for dinner."

The door opened with a sound, and Fu Xingyun glanced at him before his gaze fell on the man's legs.

Fu Jinglin felt as if there were dozens of needles in his back as he was being stared at. He looked down at his legs warily and asked, "What's wrong, Uncle?"

"Are your legs uncomfortable?"

Fu Jinglin was taken aback, not expecting the other person to be concerned about him. He was just touched. "It's nothing, I just stretched it out while exercising."

Fu Xingyun looked at him a couple more times, and just as Fu Jinglin was about to receive the next wave of care, the man suddenly said, "Go to the hospital if you're sick."

"..."

Lin Qiong and the other person came down and brought breakfast to the table.

Lin Qiong wiped her mouth and saw that Fu Jinglin wanted a third bowl of porridge. "Don't eat anymore."

Fu Jinglin was stunned on the spot. Lin Qiong reached out and stuffed two steamed buns into his hands. "Let's go, or we'll be late for school."

Fu Jinglin took out his phone and checked the time. "There's still half an hour left."

Lin Qiong smiled shyly, "I'll drive."

Fu Jinglin jumped up from his chair with a thud. "Let's go then."

"..."

Lin Qiong stood up and patted Fu Xingyun on the shoulder. "Let's go."

The man responded with a sound while eating his breakfast.

Along the way, Fu Jinglin ate a steamed bun while keeping an eye on the road for Lin Qiong, worried that something might happen.

While waiting at a traffic light, Fu Jinglin wondered, "Are you always so idle and don't have any work?"

“Yes,” Lin Qiong said, looking at the rapidly changing red light, “it was intercepted.”

Fu Jinglin frowned. "What? You intercepted it?"

"We had negotiated an advertising deal, but someone else snatched it away halfway through." The other party's tone was completely unconcerned.

Fu Jinglin, the young master, lost his temper and said, "Then why don't you take it back?"

Lin Qiong: "That's all, that's all. There's no need for them to fly all over the place anymore."

Looking at the other person's lazy attitude, Fu Jinglin thought, "How come you have no ambition at all?"

Lin Qiong didn't refute. He had indeed thought about taking it easy now. In his previous life, he worked hard all his life but ended up sleeping under a bridge and starving to death on the street. In this life, he would do whatever made him comfortable.

He said that if he didn't get a divorce, he could rekindle his ambition for his career.

Fu Jinglin: "What do you call 'grabbing resources'?"

Lin Qiong glanced at him and said, "Stop asking questions. Just focus on your studies now."

Fu Jinglin sternly replied, "I'm too lazy to care."

As he spoke, his gaze drifted out the window, and his eyes inadvertently fell upon a cake shop.

She couldn't help but say, "My uncle's birthday is coming up soon."

Lin Qiong was startled upon hearing this, "A birthday?!"

Fu Jinglin nodded. "Early October."

Lin Qiong did the math: "There are still two weeks left!"

Then, looking at Fu Jinglin, he asked, "What do you want me to send?"

"I don't know, my uncle never looks at the gift I give him."

What did you give as gifts?

"Light-up Ultraman Tiga!"

"..."

Fu Jinglin said indignantly, "I had to give it up with great difficulty; he doesn't even watch it every year."

"You send Ultraman Tiga every year?"

Fu Jinglin scratched his head. "Actually, it's not like that."

Lin Qiong breathed a sigh of relief after hearing this and said that it was helpful.

"Sometimes Gaia is sent."

"..."

After dropping the person off at school, Lin Qiong went to the mall to buy a turtleneck sweater.

At this moment, all Lin Qiong could think about was what to give Fu Xingyun as a birthday gift. After getting out of the car, she looked at the bare branches on the tree and strode into the mall, heading straight for the point.

"Boss, bring out your best thermal underwear!"
