Chapter 2 The Villain's Rebirth
The delicate skirt landed in front of Chi Wenqing, his long eyelashes trembled slightly, and he opened his eyes. The sunlight around him was something he hadn't seen in a long time, which made him feel slightly uncomfortable.
Wasn't he dead?
The destruction of the world is boring; he should have disappeared along with the world. How can we still hear human voices?
Chi Wenqing's eyes gradually focused, and a piercing pain shot through his knee. He raised his head indifferently.
The Xuan Shuang Sect, stealing a hairpin, being framed... Memories from long ago are slowly resurfacing. Has he been reborn?
"Did you see him steal it?" Mu Jianjian stared at Luo Han, and, afraid that she hadn't expressed herself clearly, added, "I mean, did you see it with your own eyes?"
Her voice was soft and sweet, and Chi Wenqing looked up in surprise. He clearly remembered that she hadn't said this in her previous life—"Since Senior Sister Luo said so, then it must be Senior Brother's fault."
Mu Jianjian has always been stupid and brainless. With just one sentence, she made his situation in the sect even worse. Despite being the sect leader's disciple, he lived a life worse than a servant.
I used to feel upset and wronged, but now I don't care anymore.
Luo Han was incredulous, feeling like she had misheard. Hong Bian pointed and said, "Miss, my hairpin was found at his residence after it was lost. Who else could it be but him?"
Mu Jianjian frowned, ignoring Luo Han's question, and instead squatted down to help Chi Wenqing up. "Senior brother, can you get up first?"
Chi Wenqing stood up in a daze and saw that her pink skirt was stained with her own blood from squatting down. The usually clean young lady of the Xuan Shuang Sect didn't seem to care at all.
Then, with her slender fingers, she took a pill from the porcelain bottle and placed it in front of his mouth.
"Open your mouth." Mu Jianjian said sincerely, feeling fortunate that she had many resources as a young lady.
Chi Wenqing sneered inwardly, but her expression remained unchanged. She took the pill, swallowed it, and said softly, "Thank you, Junior Sister."
He was skilled in the art of healing and poisoning, and there was no poison mixed in here, so why was the other person caring about him as if he had changed his personality?
One was disheveled and the other was dressed in fine clothes. They seemed to be from two different worlds, but the woman's outstretched hand broke down the barriers between them.
Luo Han gritted her teeth, "Miss!"
That was a Grade Two Qi-Boosting Pill, and there were only about a hundred of them in the entire sect. How could it be given away like that?
Before she could finish her sentence, Mu Jianjian turned around and stood protectively in front of Chi Wenqing. "Luo Han, you didn't see it with your own eyes, and you have no evidence. You're wrongly accusing my senior brother for no reason. When my father returns, you'll be severely punished!"
Her voice was firm and powerful. Her gaze shifted from the pale-faced Luo Han to the crowd of onlookers behind her, and she was pleased to see a hint of fear on their faces.
“My senior brother earns more money than you, so he has no reason to steal your things, especially a hairpin that has a specific purpose.” The naive and innocent original owner never thought about these things, making her easy to manipulate and often used as a pawn.
This incident is also because Luo Han wanted to make money off Chi Wenqing and vent her anger. If the hairpin had really been stolen, she would have gone to the public hall to seek justice from the elders, instead of coming to a young lady like her.
Luo Han refused to give up. She remembered how the young lady used to believe everything she said! She glared viciously at Chi Wenqing, completely forgetting that she had framed him first. "But, but..."
Chi Wenqing slightly raised her head and curled her lips into a contemptuous mockery at Luo Han. Luo Han's eyes widened suddenly. "Miss, look at him!"
What are you looking at him for?
Seeing Chi Wenqing covered in blood yet feigning strength, and then turning their gaze to the unruly Luo Han, everyone felt annoyed. They felt they had come to the wrong place; not only had they missed the excitement, but they had also been dragged into playing the villain in front of their young lady by this fool.
Mu Jianjian has a feeling of protecting her cub.
It should be noted that the most tragic character in the book is none other than the villain. Because of his identity as Chi Qiong's son, he suffered cold looks and exclusion in the Xuan Shuang Sect. Not only was he treated unfairly, but he was also turned into a human-shaped Gu because of his physical condition. He then became a demonic cultivator and was expelled from the sect. In the end, he listened to his friend's words and was sealed in the Holy Lotus Pavilion by "righteous people".
People say that Chi Wenqing is as cruel and tyrannical as his father Chi Qiong, but he was originally a gentle and refined senior brother. It was others who pushed him step by step onto the road of no return.
Mu Jianjian frowned and waved her hand, "Take her to the public affairs hall and ask the elders to reason with her. Oh, and let the Third Elder handle this matter."
Luo Han's father is the Fourth Elder, while the Third Elder is the most impartial and holds the deepest grudge against infighting among fellow disciples. She is still afraid that Chi Wenqing will suffer further injustice. It seems that Luo Han will not be able to escape unscathed even if she is severely punished by the Third Elder.
"You!" Luo Han pointed at Mu Jianjian, whose expression was indifferent. The other woman had lost her former timidity and obedience, and looked completely unfamiliar. "Who do you think you are? You think I'll just walk into the courtroom because you tell me to?"
Mu Jianjian raised her eyebrows, "You wronged my senior brother and even took action against him without permission. Where does that leave my father? I brought you to the court to give you a chance to repent."
After driving away Luo Han, whose face was ashen, and the rest of the group, she turned to look at Chi Wenqing.
"Senior brother, I was wrong before," Mu Jianjian felt even more sorry for him when she saw the marks on his body from Luo Han's red whip. "Are you feeling better after taking the pill? I have some more here if you don't have enough."
As he spoke, he shoved the entire bottle into Chi Wenqing's hand.
Mu Jianjian's eyes were clear and innocent, filled with heartache and apology, and her fair face was flushed with a blush from her anxiety.
She would never see him that way.
My impression of Mu Jianjian is that, apart from her admiration for the Holy Son of the Holy Lotus Pavilion, she is indifferent to everything around her, dislikes talking to him, let alone calling him senior brother.
He shook his head. "Junior sister, I'm fine. I don't need this whole bottle of pills."
Having been given a second chance at life, all the hopes and desires he once had will be gone in this life. He will start doing what he should do early on, and he will not let any of the Xuan Shuang Sect, the Holy Lotus Pavilion, or the Golden Crow Shrine go to waste.
Beneath Chi Wenqing's pale face, his features were sharply defined, making him exceptionally handsome. His voice was gentle and calm, yet aloof and proud.
He was already so badly injured!
Although her wounds were healing rapidly after taking the pill, Mu Jianjian still firmly refused, "I said it's necessary, and it is necessary. Senior brother, you can keep it. If it's not enough, I have more here."
Seeing several maids carrying food in, she tugged at Chi Wenqing's sleeve, "Senior brother, would you like to eat together?"
This dinner has come at the perfect time; if not now, when will we ever get a chance to strengthen our bond?
It should be noted that at this time, the villain's meridians were blocked, and he had not yet fully entered the state of fasting.
Chi Wenqing's eyes deepened slightly, and he nodded. "Okay."
He wanted to see what Mu Jianjian was really up to.
The two entered the room and watched as the maids brought out the food. Mu Jianjian couldn't wait to start eating and wolfed down her food, while Chi Wenqing ate slowly and deliberately, one bite at a time.
His eyes swept over Mu Jianjian, who was happily eating, and he unconsciously ate a little more food. In his previous life, when he was able to eat solid food, he only ate leftovers. Now that he can eat solid food, he no longer needs to eat.
Mu Jianjian didn't think that much about it. She completely relaxed when she ate the delicious food. Although the villains in the later stages were terrifying, with one head in each hand, he was still a good boy in the early stages. With her protection, she could probably straighten him out and complete the mission soon!
Her primary task was to find herbs in the secret realm to help the villain clear his meridians so he could cultivate normally!
Just as Mu Jianjian was sorting out the plot and planning her next move, a knock on the door interrupted her thoughts.
A servant entered, bowing his head, and said, "Miss, the Buddha Heart Grass you requested is in the outer hall."
Mu Jianjian hadn't reacted yet when she swallowed a mouthful of rice. "Buddha's Heart Grass?"
"Yes, the Holy Son said you would definitely like it, so he sent it to you as soon as he arrived at the church."
Mu Jianjian was completely dumbfounded. "Didn't I tell you to leave it at the traditional Chinese medicine clinic and wait for a girl surnamed Sang to pick it up?"
The servant looked puzzled. "No."
Mu Jianjian: ? ? ? Damn, I'm doomed.
