The man chuckled softly, not exposing her, and leaned back in his car seat to rest with his eyes closed.
Gu Zhu drove steadily on the road, deliberately slowing down. Cars passed them one after another outside the window, leaving them behind.
After passing two or three traffic lights, the car finally stopped. There was a grassy area around, and the sea was visible in the distance. There weren't many people here, so it was quite quiet.
After the two got out of the car, Gu Zhu went to the trunk to take the dog out and even tied it with a leash. The big dog was forced to stay by Gu Zhu's side and couldn't get close to Xun Ting.
"Master Huo, what are we doing here?" Xun Ting subconsciously stood further away from the dog.
She stared at the man, wondering why he would waste his precious day off.
"That sea is beautiful." Huo Lin's gaze remained fixed on the distant sea as he spoke slowly, then strode over, occasionally turning his head to check if the woman was following.
Listening closely, I always felt that men seemed to have a special feeling about this sea.
She followed closely behind him, without saying a word.
The two walked quite a distance before finally reaching the beach. The man turned his head and noticed her somewhat indifferent expression, frowning slightly: "Don't you like it here?"
The survey data clearly shows that Xun Ting really likes going to the beach.
"It's alright." Xun Ting nodded reluctantly, unable to help but wonder if this man thought she liked him?
"There's a flying saucer in the bag, you can play with the dog." Huo Lin placed his hands on his knees, casually sat down, and looked at the huge waves on the sea.
She's always been quiet and doesn't like to play, so I brought the dog over specifically to keep her company.
Xun Ting glanced at the dog that Gu Zhu was holding tightly, silently took a step back, and sat down next to the man. "I'm not playing. I'd rather just look at the sea."
"Young Madam, you can ask Xiaohua to stay away from you, she's very well-behaved."
Gu Zhu couldn't help but speak up, naturally knowing what the young mistress was afraid of.
However, he felt that Xiao Hua was clearly quite well-behaved, so it was only the young mistress who was so frightened.
"Go ahead and play." Xun Ting glanced at the dog, then shook her head vigorously. She felt more at ease looking at the sea.
Little Flower was a little unhappy because it was disliked. It lay on the beach with a sad face, its eyes curving cutely, but some people thought it was scary.
The air suddenly became quiet, and she couldn't help but look at the man beside her.
"Does Mr. Huo really like the sea?"
"dislike."
"???" Even those who don't like staring can't take their eyes off it?
Xun Ting's lips twitched. He felt that the villain was the king of awkward silences, always able to come up with a sentence that left people speechless.
Just when everyone thought the man wouldn't speak again, Huo Lin suddenly spoke up, his tone very calm, "I really wanted to come when I was a child, but I never had the chance."
"Why didn't we have a chance?" Xun Ting frowned deeply. For a family like the Huo family, coming to the seaside should have been an opportunity.
Moreover, the beach doesn't cost a penny except for the distance, so even children from poor families can come every day.
"They don't have time."
"No one brought you here, right?"
"Um."
Xun Ting couldn't help but recall how much she wanted to visit her grandmother when she was little, but she kept putting it off because she was too busy with work. Later, she finally had a lot of money.
But her grandmother was gone, and she never even had the chance to see her, let alone enjoy a comfortable life with her!
It's different to go to a place you want to go later than to go whenever you want to.
She unconsciously softened her voice and looked at the man beside her, "Then I'll bring you here next time, okay?"
