Upon entering the building, Xun Ting saw the Huo family members gathered in the hospital corridor, their expressions grim. The atmosphere in the corridor was strange, and every member of the Huo family looked unwell.
She frowned instinctively, wondering if something had happened.
"Listen, you're back from school?" Grandma Huo was the first to see her, and immediately smiled, as if she wasn't the one who had just been frowning.
"Yes, what happened?" Xun Ting walked over in a few steps, looking worried. Everyone was afraid of the villain's current situation.
Upon hearing this, everyone's expression changed, and the air fell silent; you could hear a pin drop.
Grandma Huo felt somewhat helpless. They only had one grandson in the Huo family, and they couldn't accept it if anything happened to him.
"The third brother's leg... is not in good condition."
"Have the X-ray results come out yet?" Xun Ting's expression was stiff, and he had a rough idea in his mind that there was only one possibility that the leg condition was not optimistic.
"She's out now, but she might never be able to stand up again." Grandma Huo's eyes instantly turned red.
She reached out and wiped away her tears. She was already so old, and to have to face something like this happening to her grandson was something she really couldn't accept.
What I fear even more is that my grandson won't be able to accept it.
That grandson has always been arrogant, and he refused to accept it even when he was limping. The fact that he couldn't stand up was a huge blow!
"I'll go in and take a look." Xun Ting's voice was a little choked up. She couldn't wait to push the door open and saw the mess on the floor and the man lying on the ground.
Her eyes instantly reddened. She slowly squatted down, reached out her hand, and said softly, "Sweetheart, shall I help you to bed to rest?"
Huo Lin glanced at her, his forehead still covered in cold sweat. He slowly sat up, supporting his legs with his hands, trying to get up weakly, but his legs had no strength at all.
After struggling for a while, he lost his balance and fell heavily to the ground with a muffled groan.
Xun Ting rushed over to help the person, and without thinking, carried them to the bed, saying, "I'll exercise with you tomorrow; you need to rest today."
"Move aside." The man's dark eyes stared directly at her, his voice low, his gaze fixed on her.
"I'm sleepy, shall we take a nap? I like it when you hold me while I sleep." Xun Ting said to herself as if she hadn't heard him.
Her already bright and beautiful eyes stared intently at the man, making her even more lovable.
"Okay." Huo Linping lay down, closed his eyes tightly, and clenched his fists.
He realized that he might never be able to stand up again.
Xun Ting deftly took off her shoes, climbed onto the bed, lay down next to the man, hugged him from behind, and buried her entire head in his back.
"The doctor said the situation was not optimistic, but he didn't say that I would never be able to stand up again. Besides, nothing is 100% certain. Even if there is only one percent hope, it is still possible."
“I remember a doctor once said I wouldn’t live past twenty-one, but I didn’t give up on life. I lived to twenty-four, and when I died, it wasn’t from illness at all…”
Xun Ting abruptly stopped speaking; she was in this world now, and saying this would arouse the villain's suspicion.
Sure enough, after hearing this, Huo Lin turned around and said calmly, "You're only nineteen."
“I…I meant a friend, this is a real example.” Xun Ting chuckled dryly.
Whether she said something wrong or not is not important; what matters is that the villain didn't ignore her.
