"Mmm." Fu Xi moved closer to the coffee table. Just looking at the presentation, it didn't look very appetizing. To put it bluntly, it was just a bowl of plain noodles.
But it's good that there's something to eat. She ate it in small bites, but it didn't taste like anything.
She froze, looked up at Wen Xiyang, and suddenly realized that there was no seasoning in the food. She could only lower her head and continue eating.
Noticing that the man had been sitting next to her for a while without making any other move, she asked, "Aren't you going to eat?"
"Would you be willing to share some with me?" Wen Xiyang's voice was slightly hoarse as he chuckled softly, his gentle eyes looking at her with anticipation in them.
The man's face was naturally gentle, and his deliberate act of humility only made him more pitiful.
Fu Xi felt her heart melt. The second male lead was truly a master at flirting! No wonder he was the second male lead in her novel; even she, as his mother, was smitten.
She nodded eagerly, "Of course I'd like to. Go get another pair of chopsticks."
"That's all." After answering, Wen Xiyang leaned over and swallowed a few noodles from her chopsticks, chewing slowly. "The taste is alright."
Fu Xi looked at the glistening chopsticks and her expression immediately turned somewhat aggrieved. Although she was somewhat attracted to the second male lead, it wasn't to the point that they could share a chopstick.
She's a bit of a germaphobe; she even checks the appearance of chopsticks her own mother has used. If they look dirty, she won't eat them, let alone a stranger! Ugh…
She held the chopsticks without moving, unsure of where to begin.
"Are you looking down on me?" Wen Xiyang smiled.
"It's not that I'm disgusted... it's just... it's because there are bacteria here, it's not clean." Fu Xi's face turned red as she managed to squeeze out this explanation.
She just felt that the chopsticks in her hand were not clean.
Wen Xiyang sighed helplessly, there was nothing he could do about her. He took out a pack of tissues from under the coffee table, opened it, took out two tissues, and wiped the chopsticks for her.
"It's clean now, eat up."
Fu Xi saw that the chopsticks were no longer wet, which was acceptable. She lowered her head and continued to pick at the noodles, looking at him with a guilty expression.
I wonder if he feels heartbroken after being disliked. The second male lead has been disliked since childhood, which must be a source of pain for him.
After quickly finishing half a bowl, she took two tissues to wipe the chopsticks clean and handed the bowl and chopsticks to Wen Xiyang, saying, "I'm full, you can eat the rest."
Are you really full?
"Really." Fu Xi nodded, patting her round belly.
Seeing that she was truly full, Wen Xiyang began to eat. Unlike her, he didn't eat slowly or in small bites; he finished half a bowl of noodles in just three bites.
The door was suddenly kicked open, and a large group of men in white coats entered. "You really are here."
Wen Xiyang was slightly shocked, clearly not expecting them to find him. He immediately grabbed Fu Xi's arm and ran towards the back door, leading him away.
The research team members, dressed in white coats, relentlessly pursued them.
The island is only so big, and there's nowhere to hide without a boat. Wen Xiyang gritted his teeth, unable to figure out how they found this place, and so quickly at that.
"Dr. Wen, I'm giving you one last chance to let go of this monster. We can let you go if you do. But if you're still stubborn and want to protect this monster, don't blame us for arresting you too. The entire island is ours; you have nowhere to escape!"
