Fu Xi unbuckled her seatbelt, slung her backpack over her shoulder, and was about to get off the bus when her arm was suddenly grabbed by the man. Turning her head, she saw the man's extremely aggrieved eyes.
He didn't say a word, yet for some reason, it made people feel sorry for him.
Fu Xi looked at him, feeling both amused and exasperated, and had no idea what to do. "What's wrong? I'm going back now. Just tell me what's on your mind."
"Can I have the gift?" Wen Xiyang asked in a low, gentle voice. He never imagined he would be reduced to begging for a gift.
The key point is that even though he had already humbled himself so much, this woman still didn't show any mercy.
"That's worthless, I'll give you something else later," Fu Xi said helplessly.
She wasn't actually angry. The man's initial disdain stemmed from the fact that they were from completely different worlds. Wen Xiyang had grown up in a pampered environment and probably didn't even know what you could buy with a few dollars.
So it's understandable that she was extremely disgusted by the gift she had, which cost only a dozen yuan.
So I'm not planning to send him the box now. I'll wait until I make some money later and then buy him a nicer gift.
"I want that one." Wen Xiyang still didn't let go, staring at the woman with a pitiful tone, like a child begging for candy.
He just stared at the woman without saying much, as if trying to soften her heart with his eyes.
Fu Xi was indeed incredibly soft-hearted. Sure enough, it's easy for handsome people to soften one's heart when they act cute. Anyway, it was just a gift worth a few dollars, so he could just give it to him if he wanted it.
As long as he's happy now, he can keep or throw away the gift later as he pleases.
"Okay." Fu Xi started rummaging through her schoolbag and took out the little doll.
Wen Xiyang's heart melted at the sight of the little doll. The figure looked somewhat like him, and even if it were only worth a dollar, it would be priceless.
Fortunately, I realized my mistake in time, otherwise I would have lost the gift.
"Then I'm going home." Fu Xi noticed the man's gaze and sensed that he seemed to really like the gift.
"Okay." Wen Xiyang held the little doll with obvious delight and released his grip on Fu Xi's hand.
Fu Xi then carried her schoolbag into the house. She was always attentive to detail and sensitive, and she could more or less sense that the man was genuinely happy.
She seemed not to mind receiving that inexpensive gift at all. If it was an act, then she had to admit that the man was very good at it; she didn't think it was fake at all.
Fu Xi's idea was just a random thought; she inexplicably believed that Wen Xiyang was different from others.
"Why are you so late today? Was there traffic? I just saw that car outside again. Did your friend drive you home again? Why didn't you invite him in?"
As soon as Fu's mother saw her daughter come in, she began to ask questions, because it seemed like the other person had been bringing her daughter home quite often. Even if it was on the way, no one would specifically wait for Fu Xi to get out of school every day.
They're not from the same school.
"Oh...he's in a hurry to go back, he has some things to do." Fu Xi didn't expect to be caught red-handed by her mother again. It seems that next time she can't park the car directly in front of the door.
What if Mom happens to be standing at the door next time? Wouldn't she see "friend"?
No matter how you explain it then, it will be useless.
"Alright, even though we're friends, you shouldn't always ride in their cars. They're just being polite by offering to give you a ride home, but if you keep doing it, they'll get annoyed."
