Chapter 482 Cooking

"Yes...yes." Wen Xiyang broke out in a cold sweat from the question. He hadn't expected to run into Madam Fu here today. Madam Fu usually didn't come back until around six o'clock.

However, it's only a little past four o'clock today, much earlier than expected.

"So your company has many locations? Your routes to school and work are in opposite directions, and both are convenient?" Mrs. Fu asked with a smile.

She really didn't know what to say to him; his lying was so poorly executed.

"I happened to be at her workplace today to discuss a contract, so I just picked her up." Wen Xiyang quickly calmed down and spoke slowly.

He spoke as if it were the truth, but if you looked closely, you would notice that his hands were trembling.

It was his oversight today. If he gets into trouble with Fu's mother because of this, it will be difficult for him to pick up and drop off Fu Xi in the future. He only gets to see Fu Xi for a short time each day, so he can't afford to miss out.

"Okay, thank you for your help." Mrs. Fu nodded to indicate that she understood.

She took the first step inside, and it was unclear whether she believed Wen Xiyang's words or not.

Fu Xi glanced at Wen Xiyang, then jogged into the house. She was nervous; her mother, being so perceptive, must have found out.

"Tell me the truth, what really happened?" Mrs. Fu asked seriously. Her daughter was always well-behaved, and this was the first time she had lied.

She found it strange that someone would be so kind as to pick her up and drop her off at school every day. Even if it was on the way, some people might not be willing to do it.

Now look what's happened; they even pick you up and drop you off for work. Who would believe there's nothing fishy going on?

Fu Xi pretended not to understand and shook her head, "Nothing happened."

"Still trying to fool me!" Fu's mother slammed her hand on the table beside her in anger, her face grim. Did they really think she, as a mother, was stupid? As someone with experience, she knew Wen Xiyang's behavior all too well; he must have had an ulterior motive.

Otherwise, wouldn't it be troublesome for people to pick you up and drop you off every day for no reason?

Although Fu Xi has a bad temper, she is good-looking. It's normal for rich people to change their tastes. Fu's mother is worried that Fu Xi will be foolish enough to believe that others are sincere just because of a few words from them.

A man like Wen Xiyang might not be entirely sincere!

"Really." Under her mother's influence, Fu Xi's voice became increasingly hesitant.

She felt she couldn't explain herself because her mother already believed her relationship with Wen Xiyang was more than just casual. Her mind was blank, and she didn't know how to explain.

At this point, it seemed no matter what she said, it was useless, because her mother simply didn't believe her.

"Fine, starting tomorrow, no more contact. Delete your phone number and all other contact methods. You'll be going to work on your own starting tomorrow. If I find out you're still in contact, I won't let you off the hook!"

Fu's mother was so angry that she took off her shoes and went upstairs. She was extremely disappointed in her daughter. She had already asked her so many questions, but her daughter still refused to tell the truth and even kept lying.

It's infuriating! She doesn't even want to cook anymore; she's so angry she's full, why would she want to eat?

Fu Xi stood there, unsure of what to do. She wondered if she had really done something wrong. Her mother had been trying to change and become a better mother, but what about herself?

She lied to her mother, and now she's made her so angry that she won't eat and has gone upstairs to rest. She turned around and went into the kitchen to cook, intending to start with rice.
