Huo Lin noticed the woman's tired expression and ultimately stopped wandering around and drove the shortest road toward the villa.
When they arrived at their destination, the woman was still asleep. Her most genuine appearance was when she was quiet; she didn't try to please him, she didn't flatter him, and she wasn't... afraid of him.
The man reached out and gently rubbed her cheek, but Xun Ting slapped his hand away as if disturbed, saying, "Don't make noise..."
Huo Lin's lips curled up slightly. In the end, he didn't disturb her sleep any longer. He reached out and scooped the woman into his arms in a princess carry, his powerful legs strode into the villa.

When Xun Ting woke up, she rubbed her eyes and found herself lying on the sofa with a small blanket covering her. She felt a warm feeling in her heart. At least the villains still had some semblance of humanity!
She turned her head and saw a huge dog next to her! Holy crap, she was so scared that she flipped over the back of the sofa, her legs went weak. Had the novelty worn off? Were they going to feed her to the dog?
"Awake?" Huo Lin glanced up at the woman, then continued eating at a leisurely pace.
"Master Huo... what did I do to upset you?" Xun Ting's legs went weak, his gaze fixed on the big dog in front of him, afraid that it would suddenly pounce on him and swallow him whole.
She gritted her teeth and decided to take back her previous thought. The villain was a damn bastard. Wasn't he afraid of being swallowed whole while he was sleeping by such a big dog?
"No."
"Then...why did you let the dogs out to close the door?" Xun Ting's expression turned even more unpleasant.
If the door wasn't closed, she refused to believe she couldn't outrun a dog!
"Fear?"
Huo Lin paused in his movements, his gaze falling on the woman. She was trembling uncontrollably, looking genuinely frightened. Did he have such a bad image in her eyes?
Is letting the dog in for a meal a way to punish her?
"I'm scared. If I haven't done anything to you, can you take Brother Dog away?" Xun Ting looked miserable and almost cried. Being less than two meters away from the big dog was terrifying.
She stared intently at the dog, calculating how to deliver a fatal blow when it lunged at her.
“Sit next to me, it won’t bite its owner.” Huo Lin’s dark eyes fell on her, his gaze intense and his voice deep and cold yet magnetic.
Her tone was gentler than usual, making it irresistible to listen to.
Xun Ting stood there dumbfounded. The villain was over at the dining table, and she needed to go around him, which meant she had to get past the big dog. What if it went berserk and pounced on her?
"I dare not go over there."
Huo Lin put down his chopsticks, stood up, walked over to her, and held out his hand. "Give me your hand."
"Master Huo, you're the most trustworthy person. You promised to keep me alive, so you won't let me be eaten by dogs," Xun Ting said ingratiatingly, then placed her hand in the man's palm.
While peeking at the big dog, she hid in front of the man, afraid that the dog would pounce on her.
Xun Ting sat down next to the man, still feeling flustered. She was drenched in cold sweat from the fright she had just experienced, and she increasingly felt that Master Huo was a terrifying and unpredictable individual.
She immediately forced a smile, revealing what she considered her sweetest one, and said ingratiatingly, "Mr. Huo, if you ever don't want me anymore, please spare my life, okay?"
Huo Lin paused for a moment, then quickly came to his senses and glanced at her sideways.
The man's slender fingers tapped rhythmically on the table, a faint smile playing on his lips: "Love me, live; don't love me, die."
"I love you! Heaven and earth bear witness! Unless you dump me, I will always love you, truly!"
Xun Ting held up two fingers, her bright, watery eyes staring straight at the man, as if expressing sincerity. In reality, she was incredibly insecure; she was so lying that even heaven and earth couldn't bear to hear it.
