Muchen used the sword in his hand to cut the rope tied to the mouth of the sack, and used the tip of the sword to pry open the mouth of the sack, and saw a woman's face revealed.
He opened the tinder, leaned in to light it up and took a closer look. Sure enough, it was the little maid in Xia Tian's portrait.
He observed carefully again and saw a purple mark under the maid's neck. He put his hand under her nose and there seemed to be a faint breath.
Mu Chen didn't dare to delay. He took out a porcelain bottle from his arms, took out a pill, and stuffed it directly into the maid's mouth.
Then he came out of the graveyard holding the mouth of the sack, and then carried the little maid out.
The city gate was probably closed by now, so Mu Chen could only pick up the little maid and go to Chen Nian's farm outside the city.
When Muchen knocked on the door of the manor, Manager Wu was surprised when he saw the girl in Muchen's arms, but he did not say anything and directly took Muchen to the room where he used to live.
This farm was purchased by Chen Nian later. It is not a big farm. In the whole farm, apart from Manager Wu and his wife, two sons and a daughter, there are two maids doing odd jobs.
Usually, Manager Wu and his family live in the farm and help him manage the hundred-acre orchard.
Normally, people from the surrounding villages are hired to work in the orchard, so it is relatively quiet here.
Muchen put the little maid on the kang, and Manager Wu went to wake up his wife and daughter, who came to change the little maid's clothes and wash her.
Mu Chen finally had time to explain the matter to Manager Wu. Of course, he didn't tell him the specific reason. Manager Wu understood it in his heart and just nodded without asking any further questions.
Mrs. Wu changed her clothes and came out and said, "The girl is fine, but she hasn't woken up yet."
Muchen nodded and thanked Manager Wu and his family.
Manager Wu asked Muchen to go and rest first, and he would let his wife and daughter look after the place.
Muchen also went to rest with peace of mind. He was exhausted after tossing and turning for half the night.
Manager Wu was once rescued by Chen Nian when he was fleeing from disaster, so he was absolutely assured of his trust.
When it was almost dawn, the little maid woke up. After a long while of confusion, she realized that she was still alive and started crying.
Mrs. Wu didn't say a word when asked questions, so there was nothing she could do but to call Muchen over.
When she saw Muchen, the little maid cried even harder.
Mu Chen looked gloomy and just watched. After the little maid had cried enough, he spoke, "Tell me, who are you working for?"
When the little maid heard Muchen ask this, she knew that the truth had been revealed, and she knelt down in front of Muchen with a deathly pale face.
"I almost died last night. Were you the one who saved me?" The little maid's face was covered with snot and tears, but she still wanted to find out who saved her.
"That's right, I dug it out for you from the mass grave outside the city." Mu Chen held the sword in both hands and said in a cold voice.
"A mass grave?" When the little maid heard that it was Muchen who rescued her from the mass grave, her face turned pale as paper in an instant, her eyes were empty and lifeless, and she fell down on the kang.
"What else?" Muchen's voice was so cold that water could drip out of it.
After a while, the little maid smiled a smile that was uglier than crying, and her eyes became sharp.
She knelt down again, kowtowed to Muchen, then straightened up and said, "Ask me whatever you want to ask, and I'll tell you."
Mu Chen's expression finally softened a bit. He pulled the stool next to him over and sat down, ready to ask questions.
Manager Wu called out Mrs. Wu and his daughter, leaving Muchen and the little maid in the room.
"Tell me, what's your name? Who ordered you to put drugs in the tea of the Crown Prince's wife and the Second Miss?"
"My name is Qingye, and I was ordered by my godmother." Qingye saw Muchen frowning, paused, and quickly said, "My godmother is Mrs. Li, who manages the garden."
"Then do you know what medicine you put in the tea?" Muchen's voice was cold.
Qingye's face turned pale, and cold sweat broke out. "I know, it's a sterilizing drug."
When Mrs. Li gave her the medicine and asked her to put it in the tea, she refused. But Mrs. Li said that now that she knew about this, if she didn't do it, she would die.
"Who ordered Mrs. Li to do this?"
"I don't know about this, but my godmother, no, Mrs. Li, is close to Madam Qi, who is by Madam's side. I even saw Madam Qi looking for her."
Mu Chen understood as soon as he heard it. This was definitely the work of the Liu family.
"Then what happened last night?" Mu Chen asked knowingly.
When Qingye heard about last night, her eyes instantly filled with hatred. After gritting her teeth for a long time, she said, "Last night, Mrs. Li asked me to go to the rockery in the garden to find her. As soon as I got there, someone strangled me."
Qingye shuddered, "If you hadn't saved me, I would have died long ago."
"Then do you know who the two people who killed you are?"
"It was too dark at that time and I couldn't see clearly." Qingye shook his head.
"Is there anyone else in your family?" Muchen asked.
"No more. I was sold to the Marquis' Mansion and have no family." Qingye's voice dropped.
"Do you want revenge?"
"Of course I do. Even if I become a ghost in this life, I will never let Mrs. Li go." Qingye said with a grim face.
She had agreed to give the drug, but Mrs. Li still didn't want to let her go and even wanted to kill her to silence her!
"Okay, if you want revenge, that's fine. Then you can stay here now. I'll come pick you up when the time comes. Do you dare to confront Mrs. Li then?"
"I have died once, why am I afraid of confrontation? As long as you can bring Mrs. Li down, I will do anything." Qingye said decisively.
Since Mrs. Li doesn't want her to live, then she can forget about living!
