Two men were locked in a fierce struggle amidst the swirling yellow sand.
Yu Shaoqing roared, his face almost flushed red, "Didn't we agree not to appear in front of her?"
"Bang!" Ye Lisheng punched him hard in the face.
"I must see her happy!"
How can an outsider like you see our happiness?
The two wrestled like children fighting, their faces turning red from the effort!
Suddenly, a sandstorm arose, blinding them for a moment, and just then, dozens of sharp arrows came hurtling towards them.
The two people who were just wrestling instantly went into battle mode.
The arrows were merciless, but they dodged them all.
The two stood back to back, awaiting the next attack.
After a long silence, the yellow sand beneath our feet was suddenly shaken up.
"Someone's coming!"
Yu Shaoqing gave him a disapproving look: "You shouldn't have come here. You'll bring danger to Qiu Kui."
"snort!"
"I failed to protect her before, and now I will make up for my past regrets."
"You brought this danger, how will you make amends?"
Even now, the two of them still bicker like children.
Ye Lisheng raised an eyebrow, a hint of wickedness in his eyes: "Of course, it's close protection!"
"you!!!"
How did the aloof and icy prince become like this in public?
Suddenly, the sound of hooves grew closer and closer. Looking around, they saw several brown and yellow horses galloping towards them, with men dressed in black on their backs, each holding a sword and looking menacing!
The leader rode his horse around them and then said, "Your Highness, Prince Anyang!"
Ye Lisheng raised an eyebrow and asked, "Do you know me?"
"Hahaha! Who doesn't know the name of the Prince of Anyang!"
Yu Shaoqing said from behind like a child, "You've made too many enemies before, and now they've all come knocking on your door!" There was a hint of mockery in his voice.
"Who sent you?" he asked coldly.
The man in black suddenly changed his expression: "You don't need to know who sent me, just know that today is your death day."
After saying that, he went crazy and stabbed at him with his sword. Ye Lisheng's subconscious reaction was to push Yu Shaoqing away and then go to meet him.
The man in black was quite skilled in martial arts; each move was ruthless and aimed directly at the vital points.
But Ye Lisheng managed to evade him several times.
Seeing that he only dodged and did not attack, the man in black became somewhat angry: "Are you looking down on me?"
Ye Lisheng's sharp gaze swept across his face like a knife as he coldly said, "Don't rush, I will unveil your veil and see your true face."
Those words were like a death sentence for everyone.
It would be disgraceful for more than a dozen people to gang up on two people, especially since they were the ones being beaten and at a disadvantage.
"Tell me who sent you, and I may spare your life."
"Enough with the nonsense. Since you took this job, you didn't expect to walk away unscathed!"
Within minutes, the two of them had almost wiped out his men.
They lay on the ground, groaning in pain.
"Get up! Get up and then you can fight!"
"Brother, I really can't get up!"
"That little bit of silver is really not worth the brothers risking their lives like this."
Yu Shaoqing pressed his advantage, asking, "How much silver did that person give you? We're willing to give you double."
The offer was so tempting that the leader's eyes lit up, but then dimmed again: "No way, don't try to fool us with these excuses."
But his men didn't see it that way: "I, I'm willing to tell you."
"Crack!!!" A cut appeared on his fair neck in an instant, and bright red blood gushed out and flowed all over the ground.
The leader's gleaming silver blade was stained red with blood.
He pointed at the fallen man and said, "Anyone who dares to utter a single extra word will suffer the same fate!"
This is clearly an example of making an example of someone to warn others...
"What, you don't want to talk about it?" Ye Lisheng's words were tinged with impatience.
"We would rather die than betray them."
He had just raised his longsword when he collapsed to the ground with a groan.
Just as everyone was wondering who had fired the sneak attack, a cheerful voice called out, "Sixth Brother!!!"
Ye Xuanling rode up on horseback, with Yanran following closely behind.
"Sixth Brother!" He rushed into Ye Lisheng's arms as soon as he dismounted, "Why didn't you call me when you came!"
Her tone carried a hint of coquetry.
He led Yanran's horse and helped her land safely, his every move displaying gentlemanly manners.
Why are you here?
"Sixth Brother, I'll go wherever you go!"
Yu Shaoqing, whose eyes were fixed on the side, excitedly patted his chest and said, "Good lad, you've given us quite a search!"
"Sixth Brother thought something terrible had happened to you, he was so worried! Turns out you'd been hiding here!"
Ye Xuanling was so excited that she didn't notice Yu Shaoqing's embarrassed expression at all.
When they saw that their leader was dead, they were all so frightened that they abandoned their armor and knelt down to beg for mercy: "Your Highness, spare our lives! We were just trying to make a living."
"Tell me, who sent you?" Ye Xuanling asked.
"Your Highness, it is His Highness Prince Yu."
Ye Lisheng didn't seem surprised by the answer, as if he had expected it.
"I will not kill you, but you must bring me a letter back!"
Hearing this, those people were moved to tears: "Thank you, Your Highness, for sparing our lives. We will certainly deliver the message."
"Sixth Brother, why did you let them go? Wouldn't it have been better to make an example of them?"
“What Prince Yu wants is the throne. Now that the imperial seal is in my hands, he is naturally afraid that I will find the imperial edict again.”
