Chapter 126

I was just thinking of stretching my hands when I realized he was holding them firmly in his palm.

He was dozing with his eyes closed, and even without speaking, he was like a painting, pleasing to the eye.

At that moment, I selfishly wished he wouldn't wake up; I just wanted to quietly watch him like this.

As if by telepathy, he opened his eyes at an inopportune moment. I hurriedly looked away, pulling my infatuated gaze away from him.

"You're awake?"

"How are things now?"

Is there anything that's bothering you?

I grinned and said, "Legend has it that the Prince of Anyang is an aloof prince whom everyone avoids like the plague."

"He was cold and aloof by nature, never getting close to anyone. Now it seems that the rumor was untrue."

He smiled and said, "I only treat one person this way."

These words sound exactly like what he said in my dream.

That's when I realized that the veil on my face had disappeared sometime during the day.

Where is the veil?

He didn't look up at me, but instead handed me a cup of tea while busy with his work: "Did Yu Shaoqing ask you to wear this?"

He seems to understand Yu Shaoqing very well!

"When did you two meet?" I asked.

"You really don't remember anything?" He didn't answer my question directly but looked at me seriously and asked.

I had a feeling something was off, so I pressed on, "Did you know me before?"

"Then do you know who's chasing me?"

I don't know why I blurted those words out at the time. Maybe it's because I never really considered him the one who killed me.

"Don't worry, no one here will dare to kill you again."

Hearing his words made me feel very at ease, and I fell into a deep sleep.

...

Inside the Chunfeng Shili store.

A group of three men and one woman, dressed in strange attire, were eating and peering through the air as if they were asking about something, looking extremely restless.

"Wife, is the information reliable?" the shirtless, skinny man asked the woman with two braids who looked quite intimidating.

"I'll say it again, don't call me 'Lady's Wife'."

"Don't mind him, my lady, he's just being a smart aleck," said a well-dressed man who appeared timid and submissive.

"Are you looking for a beating? My wife can only be mine." another man said.

These three men have very different personalities, but they all have one thing in common: they are afraid of the woman they are talking about.

She beckoned, and the three men obediently leaned their heads closer.

“I’ve inquired, and the imperial edict is on Boss Qiu of the family shop.”

"Is the news reliable?" the man asked.

The third man rolled his eyes at him: "How could what my wife says be unreliable?"

The man said, "Why don't we go and try it and we'll see!"

Seeing the three of them arguing, she rubbed her temples, feeling a headache coming on: "Let's go test it tonight. It has to succeed, failure is not an option."

...

How did okra lose her memory?

"You knew all along?" Yu Shaoqing lowered his head, looking somewhat ashamed.

The light shining on his face occasionally revealed his bluish stubble, making him look very tired and weathered.

"How long do you intend to keep this from me?!"

He sighed, exhaled all the stale air, and finally disappeared.

It seemed that a big decision had been made, and after a moment of silence, the voice came softly from a distant place.

"Do you remember when you were wrongly accused of killing the young prince?"

"To protect Xiu Niang, she lured away the assassins and jumped into the river alone."

"When I found her, she had been shot with an arrow and had a persistent high fever."

"The first person she saw when she woke up was me."

"I originally planned to send her back to you once she recovered, but to my surprise, she lost her memory."

"For a moment, I didn't know what to do."

These things weighed on his heart like a huge rock, suffocating him every day.

The bottle of wine was quickly empty. He turned the bottle over and shook it vigorously, finally managing to pour out two drops.

“I was by her side during those days. Now that you’re back, what right do you have to take her away like that?”

"Smash..." Yu Shaoqing's eyes were slightly drunk, whether from alcohol or sadness, he smashed the wine bottle hard on the stone.

A crisp sound rang out in the quiet night sky, startling the stray dogs by the roadside and eliciting a burst of barking.

My love is no less than yours.

That night, Yu Shaoqing, like a child, spoke many of his innermost thoughts under the influence of alcohol.

...

I don't know why there are more and more people staying at the hotel; maybe they've heard some rumors again.

I had just finished my work and was finally ready to rest for a while when I opened the door and sensed that something was wrong.

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed that the mirror on the dressing table seemed to have shifted in position.

I usually place the mirror in the middle for convenience, but today it's tilted slightly to the right.

Because the mirror had been there for a long time, a mark left on the table from the accumulated weight over time was left.

"Could it be someone who's been hunting me down?" I wondered to myself.

He pretended not to have noticed anything and calmly wandered around the room.

I glanced at the window instinctively and found it was tightly closed.

That means either the thief is still in the house, or he has already slipped away.

But if they came to kill me, they would probably still be lying in ambush in the house before they succeeded in their goal.

Suddenly, a brilliant idea struck him, and he came up with a way to make the thief show himself.

"Oh no, my clothes are dirty! I need to change right away!"
