Chapter 145

"Are you alright?" A voice sounded in my ear.

My whole body ached so much that I didn't even have the strength to lift my eyelids, but the pain in my heart was even worse than the physical pain.

Now I finally believe the fact that Ye Lisheng is dead.

Now I have lost the slightest desire to survive.

I said in a barely audible voice, "The imperial edict is not with me!"

"I didn't start that fire!"

Since I entered the prison, these are the two sentences I've said the most.

The man didn't say anything, but simply pushed a food box in front of me: "Eat more."

He opened the food box, and a fragrant aroma immediately wafted out; I smelled the aroma of Eight Treasure Duck.

I remember that when I first entered the Prince of Anyang's Mansion, we ate Eight Treasure Duck.

Perhaps drawn by the sound, I strained to lift my eyelids and glance at the person.

He was dressed as a eunuch, but wore a mask, making him look quite mysterious.

"Why is it a eunuch who came today?"

I glanced at the eight-treasure duck, which looked and smelled delicious: "Is this the last meal? That's why it's so lavish."

I haven't had a decent meal since I came here. Every time it's either spoiled steamed buns or porridge with a few grains of rice floating in it.

He helped me sit up, and the hand holding my arm was so strong. He had a faint, pleasant fragrance about him, which made me want to linger a little longer.

You look just like someone I know!

He paused in his movements, and before he could speak, I continued, "But he's already dead, he died in a fire."

"He was a very capable person. He wouldn't have died in that battle if he hadn't been injured while saving me."

"Are you referring to the Prince of Anyang, young lady?"

I nodded.

"Did you know him a long time ago?" he asked.

"The first person I met when I arrived here was Ye Lisheng."

"Although he may seem aloof on the surface, you'll find that he's actually a very nice person once you get close to him."

How long have you known each other?

Tears blurred her vision, and her voice trembled with emotion: "Yes, we've known each other for a very long time. He said he wanted to marry me."

“I forgot about him briefly for a while, but then I remembered him again.”

The man's hand trembled slightly where I couldn't see it, and he finally said hastily, "I have to go now."

The sky was overcast and gray. After being released from the prison, the man used his lightness skill to return to the inn.

He looks to be an excellent kung fu master.

"So, did you see it?" Fan Feng asked.

Ye Lisheng took off his mask, his eyes filled with pain, and he looked extremely uncomfortable.

He didn't speak, his eyes gradually turned cold, and his expression seemed to be plotting something.

Seeing him like this, Fan Feng paced anxiously to the side: "Say it!"

"She was subjected to severe punishment."

His voice was icy, and the murderous intent hidden within was clearly visible.

Fan Feng was stunned. The prison was a place where there was no way out once you went in. He didn't even need to look to know how many tortures they would use to get her to sign and put her fingerprint on the document.

Suddenly he felt very selfish, that he was making a woman suffer in order to achieve his own plan.

He patted his shoulder, somewhat reluctantly, and asked, "What do you want to do?"

"She regained her memory and remembered me, but she thought I had died in that fire."

"Compared to that, I am more afraid that she will lose her hope of living."

"Anyone who harms my family members will be torn to pieces."

Ye Lisheng's eyes flashed with murderous intent, and Fan Feng felt a chilling wind blowing around him, which was terrifying.

I will support you no matter what you do.

...

Tender green grass sprouted along the dark corners of the walls all the way to the outside of the prison.

The constables walked back and forth curiously, completely baffled: "In all the years I've been in the prison, I've never seen anything with grass growing on it."

"That's really strange!"

Another person joked, "Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it won't happen."

The constables were chatting and laughing, completely unaware of what had happened.

Bright red blood flowed along the cracks in the bricks, staining the straw mat beneath him red.

The blood was as alluring as the red spider lilies in a dream.

I never imagined I would reject my own life in this way.

A person who used to be extremely afraid of pain can now cut open the skin on their wrist with a knife without batting an eye.

As I watched the blood flow more and more, my head felt as heavy as if it were filled with lead, and my consciousness became increasingly hazy.

"Ye Lisheng, I've come to find you."

As darkness approached, I saw a man in a purple robe running towards me anxiously.

That person looks so familiar, like Ye Lisheng.

I was so excited that I wanted to open my eyes to see, but I was so tired that I couldn't lift my eyelids even after several attempts.

Forget it, I'll just not watch it then.

The sounds of swords clashing and fighting mingled in my ears.

My body was lifted into the air; I had landed in a warm embrace.

The prison was littered with corpses and covered in blood. Anyone who came was swiftly and cleanly cut down by the purple figure. The prison was now like a battlefield of carnage!

"Help me!"

"Help me!!"

The other prisoners shouted.

The prison was mostly filled with the most vicious and wicked people that day, and the purple figure opened the prison doors one by one without even thinking.

The prisoners knelt on the ground and thanked them, saying, "Thank you both, gentlemen. We will definitely turn over a new leaf after we get out."
