Chapter 99

Even in the cold weather, people still take a stroll through this street to enjoy the festive atmosphere, making it bustling with crowds.

Murong Kui wore a white embroidered rabbit fur cloak, her hair was styled in a high bun, revealing her full, smooth forehead and delicate pink lips. Passersby couldn't help but stop and take a second look.

A screen conceals the object, a few small dishes, and a pot of hot wine still steaming.

Mo Sheng wore an orange and white striped brocade robe with a high collar and cloud-patterned boots. Her eyes held a colder and sharper look than when they first met.

"I wonder what business the Imperial Preceptor has with summoning Murong?"

She then laughed, "Look at Murong's memory, you're no longer the Imperial Advisor!"

He poured himself a glass of wine and pretended to apologize while punishing himself.

Mo Sheng saw through it but didn't say anything. She smiled and said, "Princess, you don't need to take it to heart!"

"Young Master Mo Sheng's invitation to meet me isn't just for a simple meal, is it?"

Seeing her so readily agree, he didn't mince words and said directly, "I have something to ask of you!"

Murong Kui's thin lips curled into a dazzling red smile: "What merit or ability does Murong possess!"

Mo Sheng smiled: "Only you can do this!"

As night fell, the stars were few and far between, but the streets were filled with the festive atmosphere of the New Year.

Ye Lisheng sat atop the high roof, a wine jug in his hand, gulping down large mouthfuls of wine, his eyes already somewhat glazed.

"Ye Lisheng!" A familiar voice rang out, and he jumped, looking around but there was no sign of him.

A look of anger flashed between his brows: "Another damned hallucination!"

A mocking laugh rang out, and then the person landed in front of him like a bird, lightly touching the ground with their toes: "Not bad! You still know it's an illusion!"

The newcomer was none other than Fan Feng. He wore a carefree and unrestrained smile, his eyes brimming with spring-like water; anyone who didn't know him would mistake him for a young master who frequented brothels.

"What are you doing here?" Ye Lisheng asked coldly, somewhat annoyed that he had been interrupted.

He snatched the wine jug from his hand and tilted his head back to gulp down several large mouthfuls.

He said gleefully, "When you're broke, you're naturally looking for trouble to drink!"

Ye Lisheng rolled her eyes at him and reached for the wine pot, but as soon as she touched it, it rolled over and fell under the eaves.

With a sharp "crack," the wine jug shattered into pieces, and the aroma of wine immediately filled the air.

Fan Feng feigned annoyance and asked, "Oh dear! How did you fall down?"

Even a fool could tell he was doing it on purpose. Ye Lisheng frowned, her eyes sharpening, and she threw a punch at him.

Fan Feng dodged as nimbly as a swallow, and complained, "Your Highness underestimates me too much, using such a small amount of internal energy!"

He withdrew his palm strike, sitting down somewhat exhausted. Since their parting at the border, Fan Feng noticed a new emotion in his eyes that he had never seen before.

I can't help but wonder, can love really change a person?

Finding this amusing, he said, "The person who associates with Prime Minister Su is the Crown Prince of Lanyi."

The voice was neither too loud nor too soft, just enough to reach his ears. Seeing the cold indifference in Ye Lisheng's eyes, Fan Feng felt a sense of defeat and sighed inwardly, "Alright! Looks like you already know!"

After saying that, he disappeared into the darkness.

"Meow!" The little dumpling's meow attracted his attention.

Looking in the direction of the sound, Tuanzi was squatting on the edge of the eaves, about to fall off at any moment.

"Good boy/girl! Don't move!" he coaxed gently, moving closer to it.

Just then, a gust of wind swept past her ear, and a dark shadow loomed behind her. Tuanzi cried out in unease.

He unleashed a fierce palm strike towards the person behind him, who managed to dodge but was fortunately not seriously injured.

"Meow!"

Tuanzi fell down at that moment, and I expected a terrible scream.

But when he looked over, his heart skipped a beat. There stood that familiar person, with Tuanzi nestled obediently in her arms.

The wind ruffled her hair, making the entire night seem incredibly gentle.

Ye Lisheng stood there, stunned. He dared not move, fearing it was a hallucination and he would disappear if he moved. At least for now, he could still see her.
