Chapter Fifteen: The Secret Cave

My restless hand was gripped by his large hand, and I could clearly feel his breath on my face, tickling me. Seeing us so close, my heart couldn't help but race.

"You...you're awake!" He stammered, perhaps because he felt guilty.

"Kiss him!" A voice kept repeating in my head.

My face flushed red instantly, and I said, "My hand hurts, let go of me!"

He was smacking his hands when he suddenly realized he tasted blood in his mouth and immediately asked, "Where did this blood come from?"

"Sorry! My hand is injured and I accidentally spilled some into your mouth!"

He didn't press me further, even though my words were incoherent.

He grabbed my hand and tore off the strips of cloth. I yelled in panic, "What are you doing? I finally managed to bandage this up!"

"You call this bandaging?" he asked skeptically.

"Fine! I'm not a professional!"

I watched as he cleaned the bloodstains from my hands, then tore off a corner of his robe to bandage my wound.

He had an icy expression, but I could see his gentleness and thoughtfulness.

After wrapping it up, she didn't forget to lecture me, saying, "When you get back, you must tell Granny Du..."

Before he could finish speaking, I interrupted him, saying, "I'll teach you a lesson."

"You've said that so many times!"

His health gradually improved, and I attributed it all to me.

He wanted to reach the Prince's mansion before nightfall, his long legs leaving me far behind.

"Could you please slow down?" I pleaded breathlessly.

"Once it gets dark, the jackals, tigers, and leopards in the forest will come out to hunt. If you want to become their snack, you'd better walk slowly!"

These words undoubtedly became my motivation to move forward, and I quickly overtook him.

I pointed to the wound on his waist and asked, "When did you get that wound? It's already scabbed over, but it's still cracking open!"

"On the battlefield!"

"I heard from the servants of the Prince of Anyang's mansion that you went to war with the army when you were fifteen!"

"You seem to have a good relationship with my servants!"

"Then how did you meet Murong Kui and bring her to the Prince of Anyang's residence?"

He then threatened me with those icy eyes: "Don't meddle in things that aren't your business!"

I rolled my eyes at him: "Who's interested in your business!"

Unable to contain his curiosity, he asked again, "Were all the wounds on your body inflicted on the battlefield?"

As soon as I finished speaking, he looked at me with that sharp gaze: "You took off my clothes? Who gave you the guts!"

I got anxious too: "How can I see your wound if you don't take off your clothes!"

He stopped walking. Taking advantage of being a head taller than me, he often bullied me. He grabbed my collar, pinched my chin, and said, word by word, "Woman, you're getting more and more outrageous!"

I don't know when, but the moon had already climbed to the treetops, radiating its cold yet bright light.

Looking at my pouting lips because he pinched them...

By the moonlight, I saw his Adam's apple move up and down, and then I saw his face getting closer and closer to mine.

His lips were icy cold; a white feather gently brushed against his heart, tickling him. His mind went blank, his eyes wide open, and it took him a long time to come back to his senses.

"I was forcibly kissed!"

"Does he like me?"

"No, he likes Murong Kui, I'm just a substitute!"

Thinking this, I shoved him away and yelled, "You scoundrel!"

The moment they pushed each other away, they both felt a pang of disappointment.

"I am merely returning what you gave me!"

"When have I ever done that to you!" As I said this, the image of me forcibly kissing Ye Lisheng while drunk flashed through my mind.

My cheeks instantly turned bright red, burning like fire. If it weren't dark, he would have seen my blushing face: "How embarrassing!"

Ye Lisheng looked at me and a smile curved his lips. He paused in surprise when he realized he had made that gesture.

"Cough cough cough!" A third voice rang out in the darkness.

I was so frightened that I hid behind him, clutching his clothes tightly. He instinctively shielded me, a gesture that warmed my heart immensely.

Immediately afterwards, a teasing voice rang out: "Sixth Brother, did I disturb you?"

"You've got a death wish!" Ye Lisheng's words immediately silenced him.

"Sixth Brother, have you found the blood essence?"

"What painstaking effort?"

"The Imperial Physician Wang said that your poison can only be cured with blood from the heart, but we have mobilized all our hidden guards and still haven't been able to find it. We are worried about your condition."

I was completely bewildered listening to this, and secretly sneered, "What kind of lousy imperial physician is he? He just spouts nonsense. I, a mere woman, easily cured him with a few herbs!"

After hearing this, Ye Lisheng looked at me and paused for a few seconds before changing the subject and asking, "How did you find your way here?"

"Oh, this! Sixth Brother, let me tell you, I went through a lot of trouble to find you guys, even smashing up your Moon Gazing Pavilion and finding that secret cave!" Although he only watched Ling Ran and the others smash it up, he took all the credit for it.

But the next sentence left him speechless.

"Compensate at the original price!"

These words made me chuckle to myself. Although Ye Lisheng was cold and always had a stern face, she also had her adorable side.

Ye Xuanling cried and wailed from the side, "Sixth Brother, you can't do this!"

Although the night was quiet, it felt incredibly warm at this moment.

"Sixth Brother, why don't you go hide?"

"I have fought for many years, have you ever seen anyone I fear?"

Ye Xuanling was worried that someone might attack again, so she insisted on sleeping there. Helpless, Ye Lisheng had no choice but to agree.

I saw that the flower in the corner was blooming beautifully, so I took it home.
